  1. I may have just 26 jumps also but i agree with Cspence, I broke both of my brake lines on jump 22 or 23 and landed just fine on my rears. on jump 11 I had a right brake toggle tension knotted to the riser as well. I landed that safely also. I was pulling at 4.5k though so I had some time. People say pull reserve some don't. Do what you do. But think first! What do I know.... I'm a newb! ANDY
  2. Ya, its possible that I didn't slow down enough before I pulled but This was much harder of an opening then I've ever felt. I know I'm a newbie but this was a ridiculously hard opening. ANDY
  3. Ya it sucked and the pain was similiar I assume lol! But any how, I jumped the canopy this last thursday and I packed it with a rolled nose and quartered slider. I also pulled the slider out in front of the nose. I double wrapped my bands and it opened just fine. I'm feeling much better about my packing quality now ANDY
  4. That is so much what it felt like. All I could think was shit shit shit that hurt so freaking bad. Like a car accident was all I can compare it too ANDY
  5. In reply to "Fast" I was just mentioning this to provide a reasonable proof that my slider was at the top of my lines. not at the bottom as some have suggested. ANDY
  6. The first half are. I'll be replacing the rest on my next jump. Thanks! ANDY
  7. Not nearly tight enough. I'll be double wrapping from now on. I just jumped the chute again yesterday with the new lines and it flew great. I'm rolling the nose now and double checking my slider over and over ANDY
  8. Yes I was tracking a bit and I know that didn't help. ANDY
  9. Yes I know the slider was up because I definately remember packing it an sperating my lines. I had to collapse the slider after the opening so I know it was open. When I daisy chain my lines after landing my slider stops the last link at the top of the lines. This keeps it at the top. I dunno, people at my Dz have also suggested line dump ANDY
  10. So on jump number 22 I pitched at about 5300' and had the hardest opening I've ever had. I was flying a 210 Saber 2 loaded at 1.13-1 with 5-600 jumps on the line set. I was pretty stable upon opening but I couldn't believe the opening shock. So damn hard it snapped both my brake lines. The left was right above the finger trap to the toggle and the right was right below the upper line group 6 inches from the finger trap. I had about 5 line twists so I kicked out of them but Fu%& I was hurting! I grabbed my toggles and stuffed them in my jumpsuit and did a controlled canopy check and pumped my rear risers. Checked for any other trailing lines and decided I was good. I flew it nice and easy while practicing rear riser flares and landed it on the rears with a nice controlled but slide My rigger is replacing the brake lines and going over the canopy today so thats covered. I know I had my slider up and un-colapsed. so htat wasn't the problem. I may just need to pack better What say you? ANDY
  11. no video at all. there was just the two instructors and me and ted. no one was wearing a camera. sorry man ANDY
  12. logical thinking devil. huh no matter the reason it happened i'm glad my buddy ted pulled is damn reserve. it freaked me to watch him fall like a son of a bitch! ANDY
  13. Sup everyone. forgive my newb status but this incedent took place up at the DZ I frequent. eted71's rig was a rip cord student rig with a spring pc. any ho, I was driving our bus to our alternate landing field so I saw the whole thing take place after i got there. An instructor had just landed and we were watching him in freefall with wis instructor. He pulled when he said he pulled and we though he had a pilot chute in tow because it was just trailing behind him. Which accounts for him not standing up. We realized after however that it must have been the bag or lines of the chute caught on the inside of the container somehow or another because he had no pin on his rig for the pc to "tow" from. so we called it a bag lock. It wasn't a pc in tow or a full line strecth baglock either but we called it a bag lock. it was pretty much a total mal with the spring pc out. thats all-- peace-- ANDY
  14. I signed. Somehting like #49,128 That shit pisses me off! ANDY
  15. @ bigway. Dude seriously. What you need to know is that ASL (American Sign Language) Doesn't use every signal as a literal word. Think about how tough it would be to signal out every singal word as fast as a person can speak. A good friend of mine is deaf but I'm not an expert so.... Think about the french language for an example only. When you convert english over to french you get small mishaps. The word order and gender of the words are different. Some words are feminine and some are masculan. I wouldn't be calling him lazy. Do you think that for him being deaf he should be required to learn the English language to the 10* degree? You are totally being an ass. He talks to everybody with his hands in a method familiar to him an others but obviously not to you. Correct me if I'm wrong but the langauge of ASL isn't completely compatible with the English Language. So lay off. You can read correctly, yes? So figure it out yourself or don't read his post. (oops) (posted this after only reading the first page and a half) nevermind bigway ANDY
