Or if there is anyone on the jump you want to kiss pass. Conversely, a full-face comes in handy if you are afraid of getting a kiss pass from someone on the jump.

Well, he shouldn't have to do it himself with his right arm in that condition.

God damn it. I don't have the words right now. JP. There was so much more I had to learn from you. Rest in peace, brother. Byron weeps indeed.

Yo Brit, I've watched your DVD a few times now. It is pretty sweet, even to a BASE whuffo like me. Maybe someday....

I got a new Mamba on Friday and jumped it all weekend. Comparing it with the Mambas of a couple friends, Bonehead has definitely changed the design of the padding. Those of you not having a problem most likely have the old liner. Pictures attached: #1 (InsideHelmet.jpg): Inside the helmet with all padding attached. #2 (EarPadding.jpg): The ear side of the right ear pad. #3 (EmptyAudiblePocket.jpg): The helmet side of the right ear pad. I assume the hole in the white foam is meant for better sound transmission from the piezo in the audible. #4 (VisorNut.jpg): The inside of the helmet with the right ear pad removed. Note the nut from the visor protruding into where the audible pocket rests. #5 (ProTrackMounted.jpg): My Pro-Track mounted in the audible pocket. #6 (ProTrackCloseup.jpg): The several places where the screen was stabbed at by the nut. The screen is intact and unscratched; the protective sticker over it is the only thing that has sustained any damage. I am of the opinion that this is a poor design. Even if there is a better way to mount an audible in this helmet, the only obvious one is as shown. The old design had a slit in the ear side of the padding to put your audible in. The new design makes the screen and buttons much more accessible, but it's cold comfort if your screen doesn't work anymore. I am also mailing these pictures to Bonehead to see if I can get some kind of resolution from them, but pending that, I wanted to bring a little clarity to this thread and echo the cautionary tale in the original post. I don't see how you can use a Pro-Track (or apparently a Neptune) in this helmet without risking damage to the screen. Ficus

I just took the last slot. Now to figure out the logistics!

According to the SIM: What is your opinion about this BSR? I'd imagine there was some thought (if not an actual incident) leading to its inclusion. If you agree, how do you reconcile that with wanting to make it part of student training? I'd love to do an intentional cutaway. But even if I could track down a tertiary rig and a no-wind day, it appears that not even my S&TA can waive this one. Ficus

As if you didn't have enough reasons to attend this evening... There will be no less than 5 VCLs, 1 ECL, and 2 VPLs on hand to administer testing. And the spirit of one amazing VCL and VPL will be present as well. Do you agree to these terms???

I can give you a ride, PM on the way.

I'll be there.

I was saving this one for Ilea but she wanted everyone to see it. The much sweeter version of that photo from Saturday: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ficus/343319753/

Hi all, I managed to get a spot in the bunkhouse for every day I'll be in Eloy except for the 28th and 29th. Does anybody have a spare bed in a team room? I will be there with vdschoor et al from the 26th-1st, so if you need me to take a whole slot for a bed, I can do that and cancel the bunkhouse. Failing that, what's my best plan B? Hotel room and look for a ride there those two nights? thanks Ficus
