How are you stowing your HMA lines(size and type of bands)
fff3 replied to fff3's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Thanks Kim, and everyone else. I was using tube stows and big bands (single stowed) for the closers with my vectrans for about 1200 jumps with good results. I then switched to HMA lines (30 jumps) and was using large bands double stowed all around with progressively worse results and my first function in 2000 jumps. Thanks again, J -

Am I entitled to point out what a whiny geezer you sound like. There is a lot of the "entitled generation" generation fighting and dying in an unpopular war right now without having to be drafted. I'm sure the skydivers of your day where a much more noble group. J

I'm probably the minority here, but jumping for me is more fun when not done on a grand scale, on any given weekend with friends new and old. Just because I like music doesn't mean I like large, over promoted concerts, or sex vs. orgies, or making some fun skydives vs. whatever it is that defines a boogie. I don't think boogies need to be banned, but I don't need em. J

Participants, Only a couple more weeks until the camp starts, and we have a good group of freeflyers showing up. Still, we could use more, especially for jumpers who can be there on weekdays. So, please spread the love. Forward the attached flyer to any friends who might be interested, and encourage them to sign up on the Skydive San Marcos web-site (so i can add them to the email list). We have great prizes for the competition (1/3 off PD, Neptune, Gatorz), and a great tandem special for weekdays ($129). See you all soon. Todd Fey 10March: Freefly Safety Briefing after sunset. 11-17March: Freefly coaching and organizing throughout the week. 14-15March: Spaceland Anomaly organizes. 16March: Video Night - social event to show off your videos. 17March: Competition Awards and Videos. As needed: Freefly classes throughout the week. $17 jumps for all participants (11-17March) $10 registration fee: covers both camp and competition. Competition details on Skydive San Marcos web-site under "Events". More to follow, Todd Fey

A lot of people are going to knock the vengeance, but I put about 1000 jumps on a 120 and while the openings were a bit brisk, it dove great and was a swoop machine. I also found the transition to the velo 103 I now jump to be seamless. J

Skydiving happens every weekend, over cornfields, snow, the ocean and dz's big and small. The only thing that makes it a boogie is some dumb fucking outfits and a keg. Aren't most boogies full of wuffos and their brand new gear. J

The flagship of Skydive Twincities is the beaver, but if your one of these people that likes to make alot of jumps in a hurry we also get a super otter from spaceland in the summer. J

I was in the 82nd 90-94, and the JM wore the standard t-10 and belly reserve, rucksack. The safety wore the set-up your describing and unlike the JM he stayed with the plane. It allways impressed me how much longer the JM was on his feet than the rest of us with the same load hanging off of him.
