  3. Heh, I agree. I witnessed some of her landings last weekend. They were...cute http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  4. From my limited experience with camera prices, I would jump on that...even if I didn't have a helmet for it... http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  5. Come to Wisconsin, we are there EVERY weekend. I think we closed for the first weekend in at last 3 years in January this year. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  6. What would you think of my first camera setup being: -RAWA helmet -Sony PC330 I found a good deal on a PC330 on craigslist. 2 people at my DZ use this camera for video so they should be a good resource for me. Any other thoughts? http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  7. Thanks for the advice all. I'm not afraid of buying something used off ebay but in my case I don't know what to get. Too many choices and I don't know enough about them..I'll keep researching. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  8. Hey, I'm having a real hard time with searching the forum here. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some good suggestions for me. There are only 3 camera flyers at my DZ and 2 of them use Oxygen helmets and one uses a FF2 but isn't out that often.. Here are my requirements: -open face helmet -camera less than $400 (if possible) -LANC would be nice but maybe if I'm not use to it, I won't need it? -side mount (I imagine it is harder to exit a cessna with a top mount) -no interest in stills (yet) I am thinking about getting a RAWA, I have tried one on and I like how light they are. A HC52 looks pretty good price-wise and I have seen DSE recommend them.. Any help? http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  9. Eh, technically not correct. The 2007 IRM is valid until the 2009 IRM is released in Sept of '08. To the OP: You can buy a 2007 IRM on the link that diablopilot posted for slightly cheaper. Keep in mind you want to print off the proficiency cards from the 2008 version because those have changed. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  10. You guys are all annoying. I won't be checking this thread anymore - if anyone has anything intelligent to say, or offer any real advice PM me please. Thanks AllisonH for an intelligent post. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  11. Wow, you guys are all alot of help. No one knows if Super 8 in Casa Grande is still doing their shuttle? http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  12. (Disclaimer: I searched already, couldn't find any relatively new posts ) So..What is the cheapest to get to ELOY from PHX? I already know about the shuttle service out of Casa Grande listed on the skydiveaz website. I read about Super 8 shuttle for $40 flat rate..Is that still going on? Thanks! http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  13. That was my reference. Sorry for being ambiguous - of course it is only a dream, I was not speaking of fact! http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  14. I think the next WR is slated to be a 500 way. At least, that is what the Bigway camps are preparing for. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  15. This is common knowledge around the DZ and definitely from riggers. Do your research before buying next time http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  16. You can't jump if you don't go. If the weather is bad, go anyway and hope that it clears up, if it doesn't..then reschedule. Not to mention, that a weather forecast is RARELY correct, unless they are predicting these slow moving systems up north here, grrr. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  17. Find a different vendor. Most RW jumpsuits where around 200 when I bought my first new one about 6 months ago. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  18. If you are in the area, you should come out to see us! http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  19. The problem is moreso that being a "big guy" puts you extremily close to the limits of the harness/reserve/etc. I know other people talked about this but I didn't see anyone address the issue of weighing 230 + 30 lbs of gear puts you possibly over the certified weight. Anyway, that is probably the biggest problem not that they don't want your business http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  20. haha, I feel sorry too. Hopefully they see this thread, or maybe they won't If I won one of those certificates I would have a second container...after I saved up to buy a new main! http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  21. ?? By the time you have 25 jumps both S/L students and AFF students are on the same level.. I don't get your comment. Mind explaining your statement about why AFF students will get their A license faster? http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  22. I agree! To the original poster: Don't quit your dayjob and find a good skydiving club!! Give to the sport instead of taking from it. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  23. hmm. line burns THEN a lineover? How are your packing skills? Or did you use a packer? Good job on staying alive! I can only imagine how fun Summerfest was. I've only been to SDC once before but it was really nice, won't hesitate to go back if the timing is right. http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
  24. I live 2-3 blocks from that bridge! Very crazy that it happened, I still don't believe it. Yes, my gf SAW the damn thing collapse. I'm so glad she took the other way to my house!! http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs.
