Straight from USPA's news letter today Membership and Licenses Continue to Rise The membership department has been busy all spring. Despite the economy, our membership has shown modest increases for the second quarter of 2009. The end of June saw our membership exceed 32,000 for the first time in four years. For the first six months of 2009 there were 2,554 new members, the highest six-month total since 2003; there were 2,115 licenses issued, the most since 2004. A licenses, which are an indicator of new skydiver activity, stood at 955, the most since 2003. There were 895 instructional ratings issued, which is 185 more than were issued at this point last year. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I didnt start till Aug of 06 I was 36. Now I am 39 and have over 1100 jumps and loving every minute. So get to your local dz and start jumping Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I didn't mind at your jump number either. Im averaging 25s a weekend and shot by Sunday. The last thing I want to do is log jumps Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I'm sitting here logging my last 100 jumps wondering why I am. I use a pro track. I have all the ratings I want and see NO reason why I need to log my jumps in a book. Its all on my computer. Any thoughts???? Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I normally do back to back loads then down a load and use that time to edit. The pain part is taking it in and out all the time. Don't get me wrong I love the FF2 it is just a little bit of a pain after 10 to 15 jumps. Plus I take camera out for the walk to the plane ,take off, shots out the window and interview in the plane. Its a little bulky installing the camera back in the helmet. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I have a FF2 that im using now. I was wondering what everyone else likes/uses? The FF2 can be a pain at times when you are doing 10 to 15 tandem video a day. Im looking to get another helmet just for tandems. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Just so you know USPA considers any canopy under a 150 a high performance canopy and recommends 500 jumps for it http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/safety/detail_page.cgi?ID=47 You should be able to do all things on this check list also A Saber or Safire are great canopies for the skill level you are at. I disagree. Yes she sighed a waiver. She also paid for a service. That service was done incorrect. Whether they should be able to sue the manufacture or not. I think they should not. In this case the DZ closed up shop if Im correct. Not sure what the instructor is doing but thats who this case should involve. Like someone said before they go for the deep packets and that's sad. Thats why you cant own anything these days. If you have nothing they cant get nothing from you. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Candidates may earn the USPA Tandem Instructor rating who have met all the following requirements: a. reached the age of 18 years b. holds or has held any USPA instructional rating c. earned a USPA D license or the FAI equivalent d. logged 500 jumps on a ram-air canopy e. three years in the sport f. presented a current FAA Class 3 Medical Certificate or the equivalent (1) USPA will issue a Tandem Instructor rating, even if the medical certificate will expire prior to the expiration date of the rating. (2) Each USPA Tandem Instructor is responsible to keep his or her medical certificate current. g. demonstrated five practice tandem cutaways wearing tandem equipment and with a simulated student in the student harness in the presence of a USPA Tandem Instructor or Tandem Instructor Examiner. h. completed the USPA Tandem Instructor Proficiency Card i. satisfactorily completed a USPA Tandem Instructor Rating Course, registered with USPA headquarters and including training for at least one manufacturer’s brand model (type) of tandem jumping equipment Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
