If you don't mind I will correct you on some things. 1st To get your B you only need 50 jumps. To get a coach rating you need 100 jumps. This subject has been talked to death on here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=search_results&search_forum=all&search_string=Jump%20numbers%20to%20get%20coach%20rating&sb=score&mh=25 Back in the day all you needed was 100 jumps to be a Jump master. and 200 jumps for you D. The sole responsibility for a coach is to supervise free fall. They are under the direct supervision of a AFFI. Not to say that you dont need to know who to teach Basic free fall skills I do think they should raise the rating to 200 jumps min. I think the problem lies in the smaller Dz's they would not be able to accommodate the student so easily. Just my two cents. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

your renewal to USPA each year is when you need to be verified that you are meeting your currency for your rating. As far as going to a new dz they can verify from your old dz. I think if they are just looking at your log book for verification of what you did as a instructor is pretty scary if you ask me. As stated above it can be falsified Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Question... What reason besides checking track of your freefall time and numbers would you keep one after you receive your D? There really is no other reason. You also dont need to get it signed after that point. Once you get your D there is no other verifications that need to be met. Im i right or wrong? I do keep my log book up to date. Well yesterday my first real test. For the most part the boards were beating me by 5 to 6 minutes. But when I was on a back to back and captured 2 jumps at once that time was diminished. If I had memory stick camera I could see keeping up with them no problem. Thanks for all your help DSE Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

ok I just did a test using a stop watch. I did it like I just walked in the editing room Rewind footage and capturer 5:00 editing and importing 6:00 saving to computer 3:20 (really don't need to do this step) Burning 7:20 Total time 21:40 or 18:20 if not saving I don't know if I could do it faster then that. The capturing and burning their is nothing I can do about. If i don't save to the computer I can save 3:20 other then that I don't know So how is that faster then a board Edited to add using movie maker and the computer listed above. The lenth of video is 5:45 Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Im not stupid when it comes to computers ( Im not saying you said that lol) But you practically need a PHD to use the Sony program. Reading the manual doesn't help. With a laptop there are at least 3 steps more then the boards and Im sure all you pros can keep up with them. Im having trouble with it. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

why not get a laptop, install Sony Vegas, and join the rest of us in the 21st century.. I did and the guys with the boards get it done 10 minutes faster then you're doing something not right. Dont have a HD camera. other then that. 1 Capture 2 save 3 bring into editing program 2 and 3 done togethr 4 Edit In editing I have to fade in and out on audio for music and student. That in it self takes time. 5 Save 6 Burn Total time was at best 18 minutes DSE you know what computer I got. You help me when I bought it Other guy using board was done at least 10 minutes before me Im using movie maker because I still have not learned Sony. Every time I try to use it it gets all fucked up. This is the system im using. 1 224-1944 XPS 1640, Intel Core 2 Duo P9600 (2.8GHz/1066Mhz FSB/6M L2 Cache) 1 320-7330 Obsidian Black High Gloss Finish with Leather XPS 1640 1 311-9978 8GB, DDR3, 1067 MHz 2 Dimm forXPS 1640 1 320-7329 16.0 inch Wide Screen 16:9 1080p FullHD RGBLED LCD W/2.0 MP, XPS 1640 1 320-7337 ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3670 - 512MB 1 341-7913 500GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive $0.00 1 420-8586 Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Ultimate 64-bit Edition English 1 313-7054 8X DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive for Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Hard landing while making a low turn.
ozzy13 replied to Mazz's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm sorry but I found that video pretty funny. Just sitting there looking at your canopy going "UGH!....UGH!.." haha I probably would have done the same thing. UGH! Why did I do that? Trust me ... every time I watch it I laugh my ass off. Not sure why I did that. I was already into the wind. There was a tree line coming at me and had to make a decision. Well we can see it was the wrong one. I started a flat turn and as I came around I started accelerating. Hens the late flare. Mainly it was one big brain fart They put it in the end of year video at my DZ so at the party there was close to 100 people laughing I edited it after that I was saying welcome to skydiving. I will only do that once. Hey every one fucks up . Im just brave (Or stupid ) depending on how you look at it to show the world Never give the gates up and always trust your rears! -
Hard landing while making a low turn.

http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=guestpass&id=1tfq3 Not one of my finer moments. Enjoy This one was a classic http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=guestpass&id=a652x Aggressive low turn that almost cost him his life In the first video I was landing out and was so worried about landing into the wind. Well I ended up turning down wind and the rest is history. The ground came up so fast I wasn't expecting it. Thats the reason for the late flare. Thats why landing into the wind is a preference not a priority. The second video. His break lines were a little short. Around 2000 ft he decided to spiral down for a landing. Pulling his toggle too hard and causing a malfunction. Two very good examples of no aggressive turns low to the ground..I sure as shit learn my lesson Never give the gates up and always trust your rears! -
