  1. Congratulations! If you think your plumber is a pain now, wait until you pay him and he's about half way through the job. Sack him now and save yourself the trouble. Here is a good place to start looking for what you need: http://www.troubleshooter.com/ Also, I know these guys do good work: http://www.chaputplumbing.com/index.htm Good luck! -where is the house and when is the housewarming?
  2. The dz is safe. There are some guys who have ultralights in the hangars that stayed on the defensive with a hose or two. Crazy bastards are 2-0 fighting the recent fires. SD peeps should take some beers over to those guys.

    UFC 77

No cover up. He popped. So have a couple others recently. They will also be suspended. All the UFC shows are sponsored by the state athletic commissions - just the same as boxing. The pre-fight urinalysis tests are administered the same and the suspensions for positive tests are handed out in the same manner.

    UFC 77

Suspension for positive piss test. First fight back.
  5. Bill- I just heard from a friend who lives on the other side of Otay Lake from the dz. He is under voluntary evacuation and said the fire line is moving toward him. He said it does not look good for the dz.
  6. When Superman goes to bed at night he wears Chuck Norris pajamas.
  7. great idea. I would do that with USPA S/L instructor. then they have to ask you about it to find out it means skydiving, and you can explain it, rather than them just assuming pothead. Horrible idea. I have to read a lot of resumes and interview people regularly. This is not something that I want to see on a resume and if I end up talking about someone's weekend hobbys during an interview, I will be wasting my time and unhappy about it.
  8. Posts this like headaches give me.
  9. If anyone cares, this problem had an interesting resolution. It appears that my ethernet card was in the process of dying on me. I could still get around the internet and get email, but it was corrupting my itunes downloads. It finally died completely. After I replaced it, my itunes problem also went away.
  10. If that were the case, then Blackwater could conceivably go to work for Iran, AQ, North Korea, or whoever else paid the most. That is absolutely never going to happen.
  11. And for that reason, members of our army, navy, air force, and marines have my gratitude. Mercenaries aren't there to protect our freedoms, they're there for the paycheck, and my tax dollars ought to be thanks enough. Blues, Dave They're NOT mercenaries.
  12. Very true and unfortunate. Militarily, we have been unbelievably successful in Iraq. Our failures have been matters of policy.
  13. An explosion followed by a sustained contact of 20 minutes is not indicitive of interaction with innocent civilians. There is a harsh reality that accompanies armed conflicts. People are going to die. Sometimes, innocent bystanders, women, and children. Its a fact. If we, as Americans, cannot accept that in a given situation, we should do everything we can to get our guys out of there.
  14. They are immune from prosecution under the law. Some would say they are "above the law". Its a figure of speech. By design, they operate within legal parameters.
  15. As I stated before, they explicitely operate within the law.
  16. Just for the record, a mercenary is purely without allegiance. Security contractors used by the US are without question loyal to the US. They are not in any way mercenarys.
  17. The Watergate affair was a crime. Security contractors, by design, violate no laws. Major distinction there. As to worthiness, people who commit crimes to win elections are deserving of neither praise nor gratitude. People who risk their lives to protect our freedom to type back and forth about it are deserving of both.
  18. Highly dedicated and trained individuals that carry out the wishes of the CIC. Don't hate the player.
  19. Order No. 17, a law issued by the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq before the Iraqis regained sovereignty in June 2004, gave the companies immunity from Iraqi prosecution. I know its difficult to see beyond the rose colored glasses filled with mom, apple pie and freedom, but the reality is there are very skilled men operating in a way that the armed forces cannot. By design, these men are "above the law". Naturally, bad guys don't like them, because they are better than them and are not constrained by the ROE.
  20. IMO, that is a lousy fucking thing to say to an American citizen.
  21. Which is totally different than a poll about the _possibility_ that there may be _proposed_ legislation in the _UK_ regarding the efficiency of household appliances. Now THAT is meaningful.
  22. I think we are all missing the real victim here. The cop. Think about it. This poor guy has to go home to his wife after months and months of puffed chest macho guy training with guns and stuff and what is he supposed to tell her? He has to be hurting. How is this guy supposed to explain to his kids first grade class on "what does your dad do" day that he doesn't solve murder cases like on tv or catch bad guys robbing banks. No, this lucky public servant sits on an airport shitter waiting for senior citizens to hit on him.
  23. tried that. no luck. same error. i went to the itunes support page and couldn't find anything related to this error.
  24. Were you bitch slapped by the queen in another life? Why do you have such a hard on for England?
