  1. I dunno. I dig the 80s shades with the side material. I know, he probably uses them when installing solar panels on top of Mt. Everest but jeez.

Looks like he's right on top of you. ha.
  3. Thanks for posting that link. I had never read that story before.
  4. give them a reasonable amount of time. mfr's are usually quite good about returning calls and emails. it is part of building a relationship with the customers. if you don't hear from them soon, maybe someone here will be able to make sure you are talking to the right person (also important).
  5. http://www.rigginginnovations.com/index.html Go to the source grasshopper.
  6. >remember 3 things This is great advice! How much is a tandem student going to remember anyway? I try to really focus them on those three things as well. I add arm, head and hands into the exit. I don't tell students not to grab me. I have had a lot of success telling the student to give me or the camera a thumbs up after the initial tap (gives them something to do with their hands other than grab onto me). I actually hammer on the landing the least, as I can talk to them under canopy.
  7. I did a very short consulting job for Pfizer in San Diego and YES, with a prescription the employees could get free Viagra. One of the "perks"
  8. Not entirely true. While the Tridents are not Reflexs, some of the same ideas are probably incorporated. PROBABLY. I do not know for sure, but I am interested. Trident Negative talk about the catapult is a new one to me. I've had a Reflex for 5 years and have never had a problem with it. I think people not in So. Cal. are relatively unfamiliar with them and choose to avoid them as a result.
  9. This is obvious JVC experience! My JVC has over 2000 jumps on it. It is the one that came out before PC-1s. It works fine and I got a good deal on it. It is not as user friendly as a Sony.
  10. Jim and Mary were both patients in a Mental Hospital. One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool, Jim suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom and stayed there. Mary promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled Jim out. When the medical director became aware of Mary's heroic act he immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as he now considered her to be mentally stable. When he went to tell Mary the news he said, "Mary, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged because since you were able to jump in and save the life of another patient, I think you've regained your senses. The bad news is, Jim, the patient you saved, hanged himself with his bathrobe belt in the bathroom this afternoon. I am so sorry, but he's dead." Mary replied "He didn't hang himself -- I put him there to dry."
  11. Don't forget Reflexs and to give some sort of plausible explanation of why (if there is one). Thanks Rob!
  12. Sure, but as it has been stated, some riggers (for whatever reason) don't take the time to learn how to repack different containers, or in some cases, will refuse to repack certain brands of containers. I would love to see a rigger start a seperate thread about types of containers they would not repack and their reasons for those decisions. Maybe I could learn something from that. --- HINT
  13. Thanks! Actually some good advice from dz.com. Let me mark my calendar.
  14. I am going to buy my BEER lawnmower. I'm thinking about buying an electric. Anyone have or have used one of these? Any comments or suggestions appreciated. Yes - my yard is small. A little too big for a weed eater.
  15. Congrats on the A. Moving to new dropzones can be very intimidating for people with tons of jumps, let alone people who are still working on their first license. Don't feel bad about being uneasy. Damn I really miss Elsinore. The vibe there is the best. My wife doesn't even jump and she misses Elsinore because everyone is so nice there. Be sure to get a jump in with Viking. Your story is pretty similar to his. He is really just coming out of his shell as well. Welcome to the boards and the skies!!!!!
  16. Since we closed down the island we used to use for bombing practice, I propose we use this town. Seriously, I am deeply disappointed by this. Its 200frickin3.
  17. This really sucks This may be the most disturbing thing I've read in quite a while.
  18. you need to get yourself a strapping young lad to take out all of your aggressions on. anyone? viking?
  19. COOL!!!!! I would love to jump that just once. Take it to Elsinore. I don't know why, but everytime I have been there someont has been jumping similar gear. Just make sure it is all good to go before you use it.
  20. This thread is going to get me in trouble.
  21. Thanks for that! Nothing like choking and spewing water out of my nose and onto my keyboard in front of a partner. Keith is my fav chick in the forums Don't forget about Moody (when she's not down on herself) and Gypsy (who hasn't been around much lately)
  22. Just a general statement. I like the location of the hook knife where it is.
  23. generally speaking, you should not have the hook knife anywhere near the normal motion of your pull (ie. on your right leg strap). last year i saw a hook knife placed on a jumper's right leg strap get knocked loose and it ended up cutting some lines resulting in a reserve ride. for what it is worth, mine is under the right mudflap and i hope i never have to use it.
