Wow, never heard THAT one before. Maybe they are asking if you jumped this weekend because they are surprised to see you alive
-
Some people at work will ask me about it every weekend. A common question I get is "Do any more ___ (Enter Number Here) -ways this weekend?" It's a pretty relaxed environment, even for a big bad defense contractor I don't go around advertising it, but if someone asks, I'll gladly talk about it. I've still got that new-to-skydiving excitement

How long did it take you to get your bachelor's degree?

Will be 4 years this August for BS in Mechanical Engineering, minor in Math. Took at least 2 classes every summer. Just 2 more months to go!! -
Makes me want another kitty!

I avoided that stretch of highway like the plague...it's always been bad! I used to work at the Publix on Baymeadows but I was coming from the south so didn't have to deal with it TOO much :)

At the end of November is usually in the low to mid 70s as a high and in the 50s as a low. Pretty nice if you ask me

When you look at a person and all you notice is their piercings. Personally I like them, but I like the hidden ones better :) If I look at you and all I can notice/stare at is all the metal on your face/in your ears, it's too much

They were pierced...just took one of them out a few days ago. I miss it already!!

What makes you keep skydiving?
darwin143 replied to skyninja's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Because I need to spend my hard-earned money on something -
Sebastian is closed on Tuesdays during the summer. If you're gonna be in Orlando all week, hit up Sebastian at least one of those days: you can't beat the view! I don't think Lake Wales does very much during the week: I was there on a Friday and no one was jumping. Deland is probably the closest, but that depends where in Orlando you'll be.

Health insurance and skydiving acidents?
darwin143 replied to DougH's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What if they don't ask? Does the company need to know if you are a skydiver in order for them to cover any skydiving-related injuries? I don't intend on telling my insurance company that I skydive unless they ask. -
I'm going to be in Ixtapa, Mexico for the first week of July. Is the DZ open in the summer/during the week? Are there any jump restrictions (since the LZ is the beach)? My boyfriend's dad has been interested in doing a tandem, so I figured he could do his tandem there and I could do a few jumps. Just wanted to know if I should go through all the hassle of bringing my rig with me

While I was never taught flat turns on AFF, I was introduced to it when I get some coach jumps to get my A. The instructor sat with me for awhile going over some canopy stuff I hadn't learned on AFF. Like billvon said, they can't teach you everything on AFF, or you won't remember it. You're expected to keep learning (from coach jumps, other jumpers, etc) as you keep jumping. However, I think some extra canopy skills, maybe in the later levels, would be a good idea.

where in jax?

Get another cat for him to play with. Then buy two jumbo packs of TP, just in case.

One time on CSI Grissam said terminal velocity is 9.8 m/s^2. That is the acceleration due to gravity, not terminal velocity. As an engineering dork, I haven't let him live that one down since
-
I kept telling myself I'd jump at other DZs once I got all my own gear in order...now that I have everything, I'm still jumping at the same DZ
-
Just turn it to CNN instead. Same topics anyway

Nah...DVR was the best decision I ever made :) TV when I want it :) And, of course, Deadliest Catch is recording for me tonight
