googled Major Elizabeth Rouse, pathologist with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington DC, states that the cause of death was "blunt-force injuries to lower extremities complicating coronary artery disease". In August 2005, lead interrogator Specialist Glendale Wells of the US army pleaded guilty at a military court to pushing Dilawar against a wall and doing nothing to prevent other soldiers from abusing him. Wells was subsequently sentenced to two months in a military prison. Two other soldiers convicted in connection with the case escaped custodial sentences. The sentences were criticized by Human Rights Watch Born ok 1st time.

Scientists extract images directly from brain
frequentfaller replied to frequentfaller's topic in Speakers Corner
Japan’s ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories have developed new brain analysis technology that can reconstruct the images inside a person ’s mind and display them on a computer monitor, it was announced on December 11. Further development of the technology may soon make it possible to view other people’s dreams while they sleep. cool or scary? http://www.pinktentacle.com/2008/12/scientists-extract-images-directly-from-brain/ Born ok 1st time. -

I am not a bush supporter. I haven't seen any huge money appetite, like everyone wants to point out. that administartion was about power, christian ideals, and the mind set "we are right, dont listen to what the polls say". Born ok 1st time. -

sorry that was an accidently skipped over. still, how does that make his haliburton dealings profitable then? if he gives it all away. i guess i am naive, i don't know what your point is. i think bush and cheneys trips are on power. they have enough money. Born ok 1st time. -

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) asserts that Cheney's options -- worth $241,498 a year ago -- are now valued at more than $8 million. The former CEO of the oil and gas services juggernaut, Cheney has pledged to give proceeds to charity. this is the only thing i can see wrong. how is this naive? are saying he is lying and will take all the money? no way to prove or disprove future . However, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) concluded in Sept. 2003 that holding stock options while in elective office does constitute a “financial interest” regardless of whether the holder of the options will donate proceeds to charities. CRS also found that receiving deferred compensation is a financial interest. Born ok 1st time. -

from the 1st story: "Democrats pointed out that Cheney receives deferred compensation from Halliburton under an arrangement he made in 1998, and also retains stock options. He has pledged to give after-tax proceeds of the stock options to charity. " "They pointed out that Cheney took out a $15,000 insurance policy so he would collect the deferred payments over five years whether or not Halliburton remains in business. " "In 2002, Cheney's total assets were valued at between $19.1 million and $86.4 million" haven't read 2nd article yet. how does this one point out my naivity? i didn't say his using haliburton wasn't helping haliburton. he just isn't getting rich off it. They already and still are rich. they don't need money. There is no other way to argue point, proof wise, Haliburton was the most logical choice. cheney knew co. inside and out. its starting to work right now. casulities almost down to nil. actually he resigned. he wasn't on board with rumsfelds plans. bush asked for resignation. rumsfeld likes yes men. bush won 1st election. was from a mixture of clinton not being able to help gore, because he got busted getting bj and time for the political party swing back other way. even with those two factors he barely won. War is never a good thing. was the iraq war right? strategically it was the right call. morally no. loss of life should only be used to prevent future loss of life. the administration thought he was hiding something. our administrations plan? lie to our people so they could get rich from oil? no. remove hussein and install a u.s. friendly govt. with a u.s. military base. giving us a stronger strategic foothold in middle east? yes. They grossly under estimatted the local muslim unrest of christian occupiers. thought that the removal of the hated hussein would make them support us, or at least not attack us, once war ended. bush always listened to the hawks in his admin. cheney and rumsfeld. should have listened to powell more, not fire him. I have not read his book, I will. be interesting to read what he says about those times. the interviews i have seen with him. he always says we thought hussein had wmd. Born ok 1st time. -

Hans Blix, the chief U.N. weapons inspector, reported to the U.N. Security Council that Iraq still had not accounted for banned weapons, including huge stocks of anthrax and nerve gas. Blix also reported that two versions of Iraq's al Samoud 2 missile exceeded the maximum range of 150 kilometers (93 miles) established by the Security Council. These findings were sufficient cause to declare Iraq to be in violation of U.N. Security Council 1441, which the Security Council passed by a unanimous vote on November 8, 2002 to give Saddam Hussein one "last chance" to avoid war. Born ok 1st time. -

Yes, definite plan to have a military base there. with a pro u.s. govt. which is starting to stabilize right now. patraeus pushed for more troops and it worked. but i think the low action now is because they know we have new leader who has said he is pulling out all troops. thats what they want. all non muslim out of their country. thet wish we would leave saudi, but i dont think that will happen until we dont need th oil Born ok 1st time. -

remember Colin Powell, he even believed ther was WMD. He was against the war. Hussein kept acting like he had them hidden, he said before he was hung, so Iran would think he had WMD. he thought bush was bluffing about full fledged war. Born ok 1st time. -

both intelligence services said it was definite WMD. It looked like a quick easy war and thats how it started, but then the occupation was mis handled, for way too long. would it have been better if we never went in? don't know. won't know for about 20 - 50 years in history book. found this on internet, funny: Most date setters do not realize mankind has not kept an unwavering record of time. Anyone wanting to chart for example 100 BC to 2000 AD would have contend with the fact 46 BC was 445 days long, there was no year 0 BC, and in 1582 we switched from Julian Years (360 days) to Gregorian (365 days). Because most prognosticators are not aware of all these errors, from the get go their math is already off by several years. Born ok 1st time. -

The Mayan calendar has many divisions of time: months of 20 days, years of 360 days, katun of 7200 days and a baktun of 144,000 days. Their calendar started on 3114-AUG-13 BCE with the birth of Venus. They expected the world to last for exactly 13 baktun cycles. They anticipated the end of the world near the Winter Solstice of 2012. Born ok 1st time. -
