    That sucks dude, When I do buy a rig, I will have the seller send it to my home DZ 1st, then the DZO will not let me take the rig until the buyer phones him reporting that he indeed got the money that I sent him. This way there is a middle man involved and both parties involved can feel better about the transaction. If the seller wont accept this arrangement than I would assume it is a scam. Better luck next time, and I hope you get your money back. My drinking team has a skydiving problem

    Jump now, take it 1 jump at a time if that is all you can do. You will be learning albeit slower than most, but you will still be advancing through the program. I only get to jump once or twice a month but I love every jump! Sure I would love to jump 30 times a month but right now it isn't a reality for me. My drinking team has a skydiving problem

    I am on AFF lvl 4 and have spent $200.00 on each jump, but they are $169.00 from here on out. After lvl 5 I just have to pay for a coach to jump with me, and he costs $50.00. Your friend probably told you to save 5thousand so you can buy a used rig and get through AFF training. Whatever you decide you can take it slow like me and jump once or twice a month or pay for the AFF up front and jump a few times a week. I dont own a rig yet, but I am looking to purchase a good used rig for less than $3,000. Hope this helps! My drinking team has a skydiving problem

    Thanks sparkie and brettski74, I am just trying to decide if it is even feasible to jump a 195, or just keep renting gear which is throwing money away IMO. But I do want to be safe. I guess I wont be saving money if I buy the rig, and end up renting the 280 for 30 or more jumps just to get the hang of it! At least I have options! My drinking team has a skydiving problem

    I weigh 215 lbs, I am still doing my AFF jumps. Lvl 4 is next for me. They have me on a 280 right now, but someone wants to sell me a complete rig with a 195 main. I didn't think I would be able to jump it for a while since that is a big difference in size. Would that rig be good for me? How long before I could jump a 195? Or should I hold off on it and wait till a larger rig becomes available? What would the best size be for me when I finally purchase a rig of my own? And yes I will ask my instructor about this(next weekend) but I figured I would ask all of you wise people first. Thanks for any incite and words of wisdom. Blue Skies!     Good job, I just passed my Level 3 on Sunday, It was the best jump for me also because I really liked Free falling by myself. And my confidence is getting better, I wasn't as nervous on the ride up and I looked forward to the exit. Also this was the first time I saw clouds all over the sky, but they weren't near me at all, I really wanted to pass by a cloud sooo bad! I cant wait to do a solo exit and some flips.     I didn't even notice that it was cold when I jumped on Sunday, it was probably the gloves or the extra layers I wore. But I could have just been too busy/happy to notice - I just did my CAT C and they released me and I was sooo happy to be free falling on my own. I really do love this sport!     If its my time to go, t hen its my time to go. I will just tuck my head between my legs and kiss my ass goodbye. But I would rather die skydiving then in a ball of wrecked carnage from a car accident or any other way I can think of (just watch faces of death, you'll know what I mean) Stay safe up there!     Hi Donna, Yeah I just did my AFF Cat C last sunday, so much fun. And I have played the drums for about 3 years now and I love it. Im not sure my neighbors do though. Hope to see you sometime at either DZ Donna.

    I couldnt jump on saturday due to winds, but came back sunday for my Cat "C" , looks Ill be re-doing it since they didnt want to release me since I wasnt stable. But I had a good dive other than that and my landing pattern and landing were perfect. It was kewl seeing John there since I first talked to him on this forum - go John! We'll jump on the same load soon I'm sure Damn I love skydiving.--blue skies My drinking team has a skydiving problem
