Ok, I have to thank Brett for jumping with a lowtimer like myself. Nevertheless he took me on a really fun jump. we did the horny gorilla exit and kept it till breakoff. He also tried to spin me off but I was able to hold on the whole time. I know this is probably really easy for you experienced jumpers but it was new to me and it was the funnest jump I have made to date. Does any1 have any horny gorilla pics & or stories that they can post on this thread for me to see? Thanks in advance for sharing your memories. My drinking team has a skydiving problem

Just say NOT GUILTY, get a court date, postpone the court date once or twice, show up to court. I bet the officer forgot all about it at this point and wont even show up which means you don't get a ticket and your record is clean. If you know you were speeding you deserve to pay the fine. Last year I got 3 tickets in 2 months--I know but I drive slower now(mostly). But I said NOT GUILTY to all 3 tickets and got court dates for each. So I showed up to court the first two times and the Officer didn't. So I was off scott free on the first two. The third time he did show up and I got the ticket but I talked the judge into reducing it, and since I did traffic school my record is clean. Not bad for 2 month's of reckless driving-lol Edited to add: NEVER admit guilt even if you know you were speeding/running lights... It will help you in court. My drinking team has a skydiving problem

I met a jumper at a local brewery during a tasting session and he talked about skydiving to me and my wife. He talked us into coming out and jumping the next day (wasn't a hard sell as both my wife and I have entertained the idea of it before) and the DZ was pretty close to our location. I loved it and my wife even did 2 tandems. So word of mouth is what got me into sport. My drinking team has a skydiving problem -

It's great that you are constantly aware of the possibilty of a mal...But why is it just a matter of time.....? Seems like after 30 jumps you are almost expecting one.... Not that I expect a mal, I just know that there is a possibility it could happen. And I just want to be prepared for that event. And learning from other people went through couldn't hurt. I want to thank everyone who shared their stories with me, you guys have been there and done that! Im not worried about my packjobs, in fact I think I pack great! I was just figuring odds for bad luck or what not. But I hear a lot about tension knots and old line jobs, and that worries me. My rig had 650 jumps on the original line set when I bought it and ive put about 15 jumps on it since. I have had on heading great opening so far, but since I dont want to temp fate, I think a new line set is in order in the very near future. Whats up, so far I haven't had a cutaway but I know its just a mater of time. My question is, when you had a cutaway, what do you think the reason was that caused the malfunction in the first place? Was it poorly packed, were you spinning at pull time? I am sure there are several contributing factors to a mal. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience with me!
