I have a Wings and I LOVE it! My next rig, will be a Wings too. I like the way it fits me and it's very comfortable. I like the options available and the price, as well as the customer service from Sunrise Rigging. I also like the design and the look of it. My boyfriend owns 2 wings as well which he loves.

I got a brand new Sabre2 135 loaded at 1.07. It has given me nice soft openings every time. I have had a few that were a little off heading, but I'm sure that my body position was part of it. IMO the Sabre2 is a responsive and fun canopy - but still conservative and forgiving at lower wing loadings. It's a great intermediate canopy that I think I will learn a lot on.

Sure skydiver / non skydiver relationships CAN work - but not with his attitude. I used to date a non skydiver that I was with for years before I started jumping. When I started jumping, he resented it SO much. He resented everything about it - the people, the time, the money, the happiness it brought me. He had such a bad attitude about it, and it made me realize, he had a bad attitude about a lot of things. Hmmm.... good bye! I'm MUCH happier dating a skydiver, but that is because of the person he is. It does make it nice to share the sport we love though. So - if your guy is loving and supportive, you will work it out. If he's being an ass - you'll be rid of him before you know it - with good reason too! Good luck! You will figure out the right thing to do.

I was there - but for fun - not participating in the big way stuff. Check with Flyangel2 about that. She was there and seemed to be having a ball! Aside from a plane set back on Saturday, things seemed to be quite successful.

that was going to be my suggestion. no access to valium - you could be a really bad son and go for a laxative that will keep her in the bathroom.

I forced myself to do belly jumps and get RW coaching for my first 70 jumps. Now I do both. My passion is in freeflying, but the more I learn about flying my body, the more I find that I love all kinds of flying and that each discipline seems to help the other. I really enjoy doing some good RW and I want to push myself to get better at it. Only drag is the suit in the summer. I've also found, since taking a canopy course, that I'm having much more fun under canopy, and am very interested in honing my skills. Funny how opening your mind to learning can make it ALL so much more fun.

Pink Mafia Initiations at X-Keys 7/10-11
bkdice replied to bkdice's topic in Events & Places to Jump
if you really loved me, you'd cancel any plans and come down to x-keys! sorry we'll miss you this weekend. just as sorry i can't make it to jumptown the next weekend to jump with you and amy. got my 10-yr high school reunion, and i've just got to go to get a good laugh out of it since it will probably be the only one i will attend. i'll see you in 6 weeks - at most -
hey! we were a 182 dz this past weekend! i've only visited 7 dzs so far, Skydive Virginia being the smallest - and of course - the best (IMHO, but i guess i'm biased).

Pink Mafia Initiations at X-Keys 7/10-11
bkdice replied to bkdice's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'm very excited!! I've heard so many good things about Cross Keys! We are just going to play, so I am free to do whatever. -
my old sabre1 gave me mostly good openings. i rolled the nose, 4 and 4, and the tail. after a canopy seminar, that included packing techniques, i started making sure that the slider was ALL the way up against the bumpers, and didn't shift when i put it in the bag. that really helped my openings become consistently soft. as someone else said, a larger, or modified slider will also help a great deal.

I agree with you. There are people much older fathering kids too. They won't live to see their kids graduate high school in a lot of cases. While the older celebrities that father kids have money to give, that is not what raises a good kid. IMO, it's better to have a parent that will be there, that they can do things with and spend time with them. Seems like a 10yr old boy would wear an 75 yr old father out before lunch.

Pink Mafia Initiations at X-Keys 7/10-11
bkdice replied to bkdice's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hi there! I'll be at Cross Keys this weekend (July 10-11). If any girls in that area are looking to join the Pink Mafia, let me know and I'll get you initiated. -
Hi there. I just got a new Sabre2 135. I had been jumping a Sabre 150 for my first 230 jumps or so off student status. I demoed a Sabre2 150 and Safire2 149. I loved both, but I preferred the Sabre2's flare. I'm not doing high performance landings yet, but this canopy was just fun to land! I've put 17 jumps on my new Sabre2 135 loaded at 1.07 (I had put 16 jumps on the demo 150) . It has given me nice soft openings every time. I have had a few that were a little off heading, but I'm sure that my body position was part of it. It's a responsive and fun canopy - but still conservative and forgiving at my wing loading. I think I can get a lot out of it and it will be a good and fun canopy for me for a few hundred jumps.

Badfish Freefly Weekend @ * Skydive Virginia *
bkdice replied to bkdice's topic in Events & Places to Jump
$30 covers your share of his slots and pack jobs for the whole weekend, so when you jump with him (1 on 1 or on an organized dive), you will just pay your slot. No hogging him though!! And Chris, darling, I know you are not cheap! -
Badfish Freefly Weekend @ * Skydive Virginia *
bkdice replied to bkdice's topic in Events & Places to Jump
** Skydive Virginia! will be bringing in a Freefly coach and organizer the weekend of August 21-22. ** Chris Cowden, from team Team Badfish will be coming down from NY to coach all levels of freefliers - sit or head down. Chris' coach jumps will include video and debriefing. He will also put together some organized FF jumps for the more skilled freefliers. He is an all around nice guy who is excited to come to our little DZ. We will also have Jon Randolph (formerly of team Wicked Liquid) in the mix that weekend and possibly a few other CBAs (TBA). The cost will be $30 which for the weekend, including Saturday night dinner. Don't miss this opportunity for cheap coaching!! Please email me if you are interested (skyhighb@hotmail.com) or have any questions. -

We saw him a few weeks back in DC. He was very good and very amusing. He had the audience cracking up the whole show. I wasn't that familiar with him before the show, but I really enjoyed it. It was not what I expected.
