Ladies! Cross Keys will be breaking records on Aug 3rd. If you are interested in helping make this event a success, come out and play! That weekend is also the Fiesta Formation Skydiving Boogie. So lots of fun is sure to be had.
-
yeah... whats up with that. i saw a few on tv. i think one was for vegas. then i saw one in a brochure for the bar show in nyc, and they had a print advertisement for a pos system with skydiving on it. funny how you notice things when they matter to you lol

I've had a Spectre 170 fit into my Jav J1, but it didnt fit well and I didnt actually wind up jumping it (I was renting the canopy before I downsized to my Sabre 150). It was pretty tight in there.
-
Yep! I second that! I sent in my pro-dytter that was having problems with the battery getting drained every other day, and they sent me back a brand new one as a replacement within just a few weekends.

Kevin! You know I love you though! Did he tell you that the next time I come down is gonna be for more than just one day?! Cant wait to hear how the boogie goes this weekend for you guys - I know you are excited! Wish I could be there! Oh - and this weekend was great at Cross Keys - lots of people are showing more interest in doing 4way and doing rdub - even the freefliers! Im sure the Fiesta Boogie is gonna be one of the best at CK this season! -
Congratulations on your first comp! thats awesome :) I found a pick-up team saturday morning, we only got average one point lol. we spent too much time trying to catch up with each other in the air - varied skill levels, fall rate issues, funneling exits and backsliding all contributed from what i remember. but it was a good experience and i am ready for the karp cup next month! but this time my team will be practicing together to correct some of those things before the day of the meet
-
You can use one exit for all the dives? I did not know that...

yeah, i hate corporate too. sucks im discovering this 6 years into working towards my biz degree... but oh well. i dont tell people i skydive really anymore. the new girl at the office found out and went from liking me to asking whats wrong with me. im done with it. if people seem like they might want to make a tandem jump i will tell them, but other than that, I keep it to myself.

Awww we'll miss you Kevin! And you know I will take lots of pics :) Im sure the creeper meet will be entertaining - I'm a fool sober on those things! -
That sucks Rod! Where the hell are you parking your car? Just leave it taped up and ghettofied for now and then after you are done with your student jumps and bought your gear you can replace your window. PRIORITIES! lol

this is what im sort of dealing with right now - im so tired of my job, i've lived in this city my whole entire life, and i'm afraid if i dont leave now I never will! so once I finish school in December, Im hoping to be able to start the real search for a new place to call home. I just have so much debt from skydiving....

I still get nervous every time I am in the plane. (I dont like the plane ride at all, I feel claustrophobic.) but as we all feel, once the door opens it all dissolves away. I have been dealing with my fear since day one, and I have learned so much about myself through trying to understand my fear. If we let it get too much in the way of our skydive, then we run the risk of allowing it to interfere with our learning. I agree with the person who said to just jump more. Gain confidence and respect fear.

Aaah! You are gonna leave before I have a chance to come back and visit Raeford! no bueno If you drive a few hours you can come up to CK one weekend
-
I LOVE Raeford! I was just there a few weeks ago and the people there are awesome. the dz is pretty and reminds me of camp lol. I cant wait to go back! I havent been to CSS, Ive heard great things about it there, though.
-
I'd say bring your tent if its not raining and stay on the dz - there will be food and drinks and i never feel like driving after hanging out at the dz see you on saturday!
-
Posh Nosh, also on BBC is my new favorite fake cooking show edited because i dont know how to make a link lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqVXYRaEdso

Yeah, i agree. Shop around for a little while before you decide to buy your rig and you will find something you like even more.

Yay! I am so excited for another opportunity to work with the PD guys. Their canopy skills course was awesome at the invasion and I learned so much. They really do help with individual needs when it comes to improving canopy flying and raising awareness. And come on, we'll be doing something fantastic for the kids! It really builds a great feeling within the skydiving and outside community when we get together for a good cause and all learn something from it. Who else is coming?

i like to try new foods, even if they are really weird. its like a new sensory experience, so if its only once, why not? sweet breads (not a bread), intestine, parts of a pig eye socket, pig ear, horse meat, elk jerky, snails, raw beef carpaccio, i can go on and on.

JOHNS PIZZA!!! Absolutely the best pizza in NYC, better than Grimaldi's, Lombardi's, and even Ray's (which isnt that great.) BUT- they only sell by the pie. Its so worth it. They have a few, the one near times square, I think its 44th or 45th is good, but so is the one on Bleecker Street, just east of 7th avenue. Basically In NY, if there's a line out the door in the cold, you know its got to be either 1) Excellent or 2) Pretty good and Cheap!! When are you coming to the city?
