I am still a newbie to the sport, I only have 160 jumps, but have been fortunate enough to have visited a number of DZ's already. In comparing the DZ's the only thing that any of the other DZ's have on the ranch is you can live on them, hopefully someday we can get the local townies to back off and let us be, but we will have to wait and see. The ranch is an amazing DZ though, the planes are well, some of the best in the industry and we have three of them. on Saturday of memorial day weekend '08 I saw three otters turn 54 loads in one day. I was simply in awe. the parties afterwards were incredible, roaming from one fire to the next, being fed, and boozed, and great conversation lead to some wonderful nights Landing is great too, you do not have to worry about being cut off at the ranch, we pick a landing pattern (towards the pond or mountain) which keeps traffic moving the same way. you can choose to land your own way if you would like, you just have to land in a different section, and take a longer walk, but hey at least there's the option. the experience levels of the people there is great as well, and everyone is willing to give you some insight. I remember one time on a busy day, one of the tandem masters getting up from a pack job just to help me better understand something about canopy control. Have learned a lot at this DZ and will be very sad if the day comes that I have to move away, and only visit once in a while. and if I have to go to another DZ, I will always be a rancher at heart! blue skies!!! I visited in the summer of '07 and it was def the best time i have had at any DZ yet, I have low jump numbers but have been lucky enough to check out a variety of DZ's and this one tops them all off, the staff the people the dogs are all great and the partying even better, esp when naked and drunk (woops!!!!) blue skies!!!

i was actually going to put in the original post but ended up not ---> 'have been to zhills, great time, loved it and am probably going to go there on this trip but just want to make sure i am not missing anything else' but thanx for the info, i def loved the atmosphere there, one of the chillest DZ's i have been to yet

hello all, i am a teacher and have feb 15 - 24 off, i also have a 400 dollar voucher for continental airlines, does anyone have any ideas as to where i should go. i was hoping for an event but the only one that seems to be even near those dates is PR and i would only be able to make it for like 2 of the days, so please any insight would be appreciated. i guess as long as a DZ has a party atmosphere 7 days a week then that would be fine cheers and blue skies!!! -billy

thanx very much for the info, i have not lived up north my whole life, where as i do ironically enough love the cold, i used to live in charleston south carolina and my parents live in southern florida, so i am fairly acquainted with humidity, but thanx for the heads up i will definitely be hydrating, and the door on the otters better stay open the whole trip up;) blue skies to all billy:) -
hey all, i am new to the sport and am trying to figure out what boogies to go to this summer but am unsure of which ones are 'good' and which ones to stay away from, so if you could let me know some good boogies going on in the northeast and a lil bit about why it is a good boogie, would be greatly appreciated, i have visited DZ.coms schedule but i get so lost because i dont know what the general consensus is on all of them and there seems to be alot of them, cheers!! blue skies!!! billy:) ps i like after hours too ----> wooo hooo

hey J yea so the balloon thing i guess i will have to not drink one night, but just one and hopefully i pick the right day, but everything is going well with the rig, no body questioned anything and i made about 6 jumps, so as long as she can be at the camp ground and the pond the puppers will be ok, i have a long chain for her even though she is not a runaway kind of pup, but yea as far as the girl you know who needs a ride, i am up for anything that will cut down on gas cost, as of right now its me liz and my buddy steve, and steve is not a definite so please let her know and get her in contact with me because i will also actually be leaving from washington heights in manhattan becasue thats where liz will be, and i am not to positive that steve will make it so let me know if you need any contact information for her, cheers blue skies!!!! hey all, i was wondering if i will be coming from the farthest location --- plattsburgh, ny ---- i think i should get a free jump for the long drive J, hahaha jk !!!!! so just wanted to post that i and a couple crazy new yorkers will be there, just look for the big tent with an air conditioner rigged up in it, and the beautiful black lab ( im sure she will be in the pond when its not bein swooped ) lookin to be supporting a lot of the beer as it will be an 'F' word boogie for me--- hot air balloon, pitts, pac 750, casa, holy sh%#, i will be broke just from buyin the beer, is there a beer wholesaler near by J, oh and how did that bottle of 7 do for you, so a message to all i am a newbie to this incredible sport and am looking to learn whatever i can so if you see a guy with a bright orange white and blue jump suit, and a jav ody that i bought from J (if anyone knows where this J guy is let me know cause i owe him a belly shot for selling me a junk rig --- hahahaha big jk J i love this damn thing, made about ten jumps on it and am loving every one of them) so back to the point anyone with some insight while i am there would be much appreciated, and J what is up with 530am hot air balloon jumps, at that time in the morning, it will ony be like 2 or 3 hours from my last beer!!!! cant wait to be there, make jumps, meet new people and learn some new things, cheers!!! blue skies!!! -
talkin to a guy about buying his pilot 210 of him, have never flown one but was just wondering what the consensus is blue skies!!! billy:) ps---- figure everything on the canopy is cosidered in good working order after a rigger inspection
-
all i can say i love my jav ody, as you can see i dont have a lot of experience but i do know i like what i have so thats my 2 cents
-
I just bought my first rig, although it is the fourth brand I have jumped. After jumping those other three rigs i figured that being uncomfortable underneath canopy, in the plane and just plain wearing them was a norm. Well now with my jav ody I feel that no more, it fits so well, nice and snug into the small of my back. I worked with J at sunpath and he was more then helpful, especially in dealing with my pain in the ass. I would suggest this rig to anyone, and as more and more information comes out about the skyhook I am glad I bought a rig that it is skyhook ready. I have only had a few jumps on it so i will update this as my season begins and I have had more jumps on it, but I am sure the only comments that will come in from me will be positive!
