  2. ...the man was a prince! I met him in Ecuador for the C130 Boogie and I´m grateful I can relate to what DSE, Robin Heid and John Sherman put in to their eulogies. Blue skies Ted... rafael
  3. I got my IAD-I ticket at The Ranch. As I jump at a Cessna DZ the idea was to get certified from their Cessna but it was their 30th anniversary and the pilot was busy flying Otter loads so it was either doing it from the Otter or waiting for the end of the boogie. I was running out of time so I did it from the otter. What I did was practice like hell with the mock up untill I understood perfectly the mechanics of the exit and my student new exactly what I wanted from him. Then we climbed the otter and when I told him to get out he promptly did and let go! Having practiced in the mock up, I was ready enough to put the pc into clear air with no problems. I guess it´s just like any new exit; I want to have it figured out before we´re inside and ready to jump Happy Landings, Rafael
  4. Hi Jurgen, This is for fun so I´ll be modifying the accuracy rules to minimize that risk. Personally I´ll be competing as three different "teams" team PC Mk1, team Safety Star and team VIP 150 You´re welcome to visit us Happy landings, Rafael
  5. I´m trying to organize a pops hit´n´rock competition in Uruguay celebrating my 21 years in the sport. Dates are 26/27 november. Barbeque and champagne afterwards. Everyone is welcome I got the rules from the pops website but I want to stir people into participating so I´m searching for videos of others to show how much fun you can get out of this hops and pops...Anybody? Happy landings, Rafael
  6. ...still dumb after all the flying but wow! it´s was worth it... Thank you Wayndo, Mad John, Donovan, Garfield, and everyone else...the list is so long...it took me 60 hours to get there and likewise back...got back yesterday morning and then straight to work... I´LL BE DOING IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR! It was A W E S O M E!!! Happy Landings! Rafael
  7. Ok. Thank you! One thing less to worry... Already at the airport, getting my customary Duvel...can´t wait to be there! Happy landings, Rafael
  8. Hi DPDonovan, That´s right. Sent you a PM with the details. Do I have to worry about food or is there some place within walking distance? Happy landings, Rafael
  9. Hi DPDonovan, that´s very kind of you! I´ll be arriving to the bus terminal in Kalispell at a yet undetermined time...don´t know if I should get my camping stuff in Missoula or Kalispell...I´ll keep in touch Happy landings, Rafael
  10. Every now and then I´ll jump a Safety Star as a main. Last time a friend packed it for me and got the steering lines trough the guide rings...they were out for a reason; they´d get stuck at shoulder level whenever I tried to go deeper/flare! Managed to crash it with minimal damage...walked out of it...sorely! happy landings, rafael
  11. Hi Madjohn, Thank you for the advice. I always like to arrive early! I´ll get in touch with the dropzone and we´ll see how it goes. Happy landings, Rafael
  12. Hi to all, I´m flying from Uruguay to LP by way of LAX and Missoula. I´ll be getting to Missoula close to midnight on the 21st so I´ll have some time to spare before LP. Anyone care to offer advice on how to spend that time? Also, I planned on taking a bus to Kalispell...what should I do afterwards? Or, without renting a car, how do I get to the boogie? Happy landings, Rafael
  13. Just for the record... I´m still looking for a Dactyl Happy landings, Manchuso
  14. to each his own...i tried one at couchfreaks and loved it; the double keel gives much nicer landings but the single keel is great! By the way...I´m still looking for one! Blue skies, Manchuso
  15. Hi Pat, Congrats on your 50th! I´ve kept my copy of "the art of freefall RW" and read it every once in a while; I still find it a most enjoyable reading. Many more years to you and do keep up the writing Blue skies, Rafael
  16. love my safety star! attached is a pic from my birthday two years ago Blue skies, Rafael
  17. Last saturday was 20 years since my first jump! 20 years on 20th November, made 20 jumps with 20 canopies: VIP150, Nimbus, Stiletto 135, Raven 3, Pintail 120, Safire 169, Pilot 150, Sabre II 170, Paracommander Mk1, Safety Star, ParaFoil 252, Spectre 210, Crossfire 119, Navigator 260, Sabre I 135, Sabre I 150, Neos 109, COE 260, Triathlon 160, Velocity 111 The dz was full of friends ready to go with me and/or loaning me their canopies; It was such a great experience Blue skies, Rafael
  18. Hi Lisa, I could reply with something frivolous...but fact is I´ve always considered myself more as a parachutist that a skydiver and have always loved to jump gear which at some time was considered state of the art...maybe having being taught to jump by a skydiver who manufactured most of the gear we used to jump has something to do with it! Happy landings, Rafael
  19. That´s my plan B. I´m currently in touch with polish and ucrainian guys
  20. wow! Do you have any more pictures? Blue skies, Rafael
  21. The canopies look very nice. Pity you don´t have them... I hope I get lucky and something shows up Pchapman: Lee was kind enough to lend them to me Blue skies, Rafael
  22. The double landed softer but I think I could learn to live with a single keel landings as it had quite more wind penetration I´ve looking up both options. Asked some polish friends to look for a PZ81 but I´ve had no luck so far...As to making a new Paradactyl, I like the idea and I think I might be able to make one if I had the specifications. Do you have them? Blue skies, Rafael
  23. Beatnik: I figured you wouldn´t be in any rush to sale but if you happen to hear about someone interested in doing so please be generous and direct him to me Rdufokker: Both openings were nice enough... blue skies, rafael
