Holly crap !! I worked at the Titusville Space Camp for the past 3 summers. Damn shame it has closed down since. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  2. I fly a Silhoutte and absolutely love it. It really does handle nice considering the size (i jump a 230). The openings always feel good ( dont have to worry about the infamous "Saber snap" as much) . The rig I jump is owned by my school skydiving club, but I plan on purchasing my own Silhoutte. I also like the fact that it is half ZP and half F-111. The only thing that I dont like about it is that it is hard to spell . ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  3. Jumping more often definatley decreased my fear level to a bearable amount that still keeps me safe. I recently got a car to replace the one that my friend wrecked freshman year (that bastard). Anyway, for my first year in the sport, I did about 20some jumps. That's pretty damn crappy. There were three recerts in there. I knew i needed to jump more but did not have the means. Now I have a car, and have managed to double my jump total in the month that I have had it. Of course now i'm paying for a car and increased jump numbers, but school is all about personal growth both academically and other, so I look at skydiving as an education expense
  4. Just wanted to say thank you to all those who helped me this semester with my C programming homework. Without you, that C would have probably been a D. :) My gpa was 3.4 this semster. Woohoo!! One semester to go! A drink of yer choice for anybody who helped me. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  5. !!!!!!!!THE SANDLOT!!!!!!!!!!!! I still love that movie, even though i've seen it 2,435,245,209,485,324,909 times. (Yes, that many) ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  6. Gotta study for my finals here at Humpty-Diddle Airplane School. No jumping for me this weekend. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  7. Sure it makes sense. If a millionaire has to pay a $200 ticket, what does he care? No biggie for him. For the average Joe, however, he'll think twice about speeding again for a while. So ya gotta increase the amount to get that affect from a rich dude. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  8. Hehe, i used to work at the Astronaut Hall of Fame on the Space Camp side. We used to say that that suit was haunted. There were all sorts of spooky stories about that place. Too bad the camp went out of business, i loved that job!! ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  9. Aren't there certain types of tapes that are approved for temporary fixing of minor damage?? ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  10. My woman says I cant even think about BASE, so i guess i'm a "no" on all three. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  11. One semester left and I will have a BS degree in Human Factors/ Applied Experimental Psychology. When I started, the program was boasting 100% job placement and the highest starting salaries of the school. Who knows now. As long as I dont have to return to my old 1 hour photo job at walfart. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  12. Dude, you rock!! I would never have come up with that!! Now, I wonder, if there is any command in C to clear that return out rather than doubling up. But hey, it works, so I'm happy.
  13. Sorry to keep posting my C programming homework woes here, but you guys always do a great job of giving me advice. Anyway, I'm having problem with this function: int mainmenu(void) { int choice; char name[25]; printf("Please enter a choice.\n"); printf("1. Convert a Temperature\n"); printf("2. Quit the Program\n"); scanf("%d", &choice); if(choice == 1) { printf("Please enter your name:\n"); gets(name); } system("cls"); return choice; } The problem is that it keeps skipping over the "if" statement. I even made that part a completly different function, and it still skipped it. Wierd thing is that it only skips the gets part. I dont understand!!! ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines. project5b.c
  14. Hey, I have 43 jumps and NO license. Not that I have made an attempt to get one yet. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  15. ah, so simple, yet so helpful. THANX!!
  16. How do you clear the screen in a C program?? I have to do it on my homework, but it isnt even in the damn textbook . ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.

  18. The subject says it all. http://www.cnn.com/2002/EDUCATION/11/20/geography.quiz/index.html ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  19. It's situations like this that make wanna caress and kiss my external USB 2.0 hard drive. No matter what my OS does, my mp3s, skydiving vidz, and porn will all be nice and safe. My last laptop (2000-2002 R.I.P.) only had a 5GB internal harddrive which is what prompted me to get the external in the first place. But it was so convienient for keeping all of my files and now I can still use them all on my new laptop. I love technology. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  20. My parents are both educated. My father has two PhDs and is a professor. My mother a pharmacist. Nonetheless, they outright refused to pay for my education. No ifs, ands or buts about it. I think this is because they both had to pay their own ways through school. Of course education was no where near as expensive back then. In the end, I guess it makes me take school more seriously. It makes me a more repsonible person with an education and a $55,000 student loan debt. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  21. Too late!! I have been bought for $55,000 not only by the bank, but by the federal government. At least until I retire or die anyway, then I'll be free!! ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  22. Mine was 8 hours long!! By the time we finished, the weather had rolled in and we couldnt jump until the next day. Oh well, at least I feel that I got myself a good first skydive edumacation. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  23. anybody know what kind of plane that is?? kinda looks too small to be a c-17 though i havent been inside many so i could be wrong, doesnt look like a 141 either. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  24. Let me in!!! I'm poor and have $50,000+ in student loans!!! ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
  25. It's all about binocular depth cues. Up kinda close, yer eyes rely on accomodation (lens stretch) and convergence (the amount of angles that yer eyes are pointed towards each other to look at a spot on the horizon. After a certain distance, these cues are ineffective. After this we rely on monocular cues such as texture gradients, atmosphere (haze), interpositioning, and relative size, etc. When we use these cues, we might as well be looking at a picture. Your mind kind of perceives it as such. Wow, I actually learned something in Sensation and Perception ------------------------------------------------------ Remember kids, eagles may soar, but at least weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
