So I just had another bizarro dream. I was in some sort of huge performance theater. It looked like the Lincoln Center. There was a group of workers building a set on stage that was three stories tall. I kept needing to take a nap, so I would go outside of the seating area where the lobby should be and sleep on my bed out there (of course). Then, guys from The Farm started to arrive. I went back into the theater and they were all getting their stuff together. They were BASE jumping inside the theater from the top balcony. I was going around asking if anybody had a 180 base rig. What? Was I crazy? I wanted to jump inside of a theater with a 180 base rig. I've got to stop eating weird food before going to sleep...and then waking up at midnight. Try Transcending Fear: Conquering the Enemy Within (Brian Germain). I read the Skydiver's Handbook (Dan Poynter) and it made a good companion to the SIM. My guess is that most who are dangerous don't realize that they are dangerous. It takes a good instructor to know how to balance the info on how to improve with the info that they are not going to be a successful skydiver. I don't have any solutions, but I wanted to let you know that I'm having the same thing. I've never had shoulder injuries, but after jumping I've been having pain in just my left shoulder. I can feel it if I raise my elbow higher than my shoulder. I'm hitting the Advil and waiting for it to subside. It showed up after my 3rd and 4th jumps. Good point. I did my student pilot work at Dekalb-Peachtree (PDK), and trust me, when you get used to putting a little 150 or 172 in the pattern and working with the very busy communications with all the big boys at PDK, you can get around at almost any airport. Get a high lift wingsuit on, and you could use the kick from the faster air to go back up into the slower air. A little like the was an albatross uses dynamic soaring to cover distance with less effort. Explain please. Do you mean that the "air mass" you are talking about has rigid boundaries? There's only one place that I can think of where there is anything close to a rigid boundary and it's around 0' AGL. But even that boundary is not rigid. It's just a point where the neighboring mass is not fluid (or easily influenced by the air current). Bodies of water come in second (more easily influenced).
