This weekend was incredible! Saturday made two jumps.. last load of the day was about half hour after sunset. I swore that one off since my high winds/"night jump" back in October,. but i figured what the hell. it was a hop n pop.. and I felt good about it... Woo hooo.. it was about dark when we landed and I hit that FLARE just PERFECT!! It was one of those "so This is what its supposed to feel like kinda moments" .. Like the light had clicked. I think I would honestly say that was a PERFECT landing!! On to Sunday.. Did 5 more jumps! All hop n pops.. is COLD here.. 4K has been about our max altitude for a month or so. . Out of five jumps I hit that flare again on 4 of them and walked them out!! The one that i didn't would have been a wind issue.. Winds were gusting and about two feet off the ground i got picked back up and slammed down on my ass, and drug about 30feet. .. It was actually whoo hoo worthy until i saw the mud on my gear.. Good thing my new wings container will be here soon! For those of you who haven't heard. I was handed the crown of Faceplanter at archway after Anne decided she was tired of holding the title. ... now for the best news!! Again, Sunday, Sunset load.. hop n pop.. the MOST incredible sunset i think i have ever seen. You know, one of those that you actually want to stop and thank God for letting you witness something this beautiful... So... set up for my final.. Did that awsome flare again.. Stood it up nicely and get this I WAS IN THE PEAS!! Unbeleiveable for me.. I have never been in the peas.. the beans and the corn alot..LOL.. but never the Peas!! Oh yah.. and that would have been jump 96.. that is 96 jumps in exactly 7 months!! This deserves Cyber beer for ALL!!! Blue skys & Sunset Loads! Tina

I can only give a little medical advise.. Go to the doctor.. its not all that bad, the ER here knows me by name. Freak volleyball accidents!! I might, however, be able to help a little bit on the flare.. I KNOW WHAT YOUR GOIN THROUGH!! I could make a great skydive, no real freefall problems, set up for landing fine.. but DAMMIT I needed help the last 10feet. All i wanted to hear was Flare, Flare, Flare on the radio. It took me a long time, and i can still make a beautiful face plant from time to time, but for the most part Its MUCH better. Everyone told me to look at the horizan.. Didn't work quite right for me. I flared to early, too late, what did help however was pick a landmark about 10-12 feet off the ground. I used the roof of the hanger. When i saw that my feet were approaching the roof, i would start the flare. Also. don't come in in half brakes. At least 50ft above the gound, make sure you are in full flight. Toggles all the way up.. but you did make a good decision not to lift up when you knew that you were in half brakes. Just keep holdin it..If you just didn't finish your flare, make sure you get it all the way down.. For a while i thought i was, but I really wasn't. Crank it down hard to finish.. your get the last bit out it.. Good luck and don't feel bad. I was on the radio through jump number 25.. Just my $.02. Oh yah, and think of the bright side.. if you didn't already have it for your A lic. one of the things on your card is to make a landing from half brakes..One more signed off!! Hugs and love from all of us. Your grandpa probably knows that the end is near.. and like Clay said.. Celebrate his life becuase athough it brings sadness to you.. it brings peace to him. I remember right before my grandma died she opened her eyes for the first time in days..she made since of nothing before this point.. she sat up in bed and said "these angels are soooo beautiful.. i need to go.." and that was it.. she layed back down and passed about an hour later. That brought a warm peace over everyone. Listen to the song "holes in the floor of heaven" it'll make you smile. none better said than "Peace, Love & Soul"... Tina

i have jumped a Dolphin the past 85 jumps.. and JUST bought my wings last week. Actually.. i bought a used container with used main & reserve & Cypress and i ordered the new wings container for it. I had NO problems with the dolphin and it is a great price, however ..I have not seen a dolphin without velcro.. not all that safe for any free flying you might wanna do. I am selling mine as soon as my new wings container gets here. If your interested, let me know, I'll send you a pic.. I am selling it cheap.. Its fairly new.. looks good. it is all black with a teal dolphin fabric painted on the back with yellow and teal on the panel. it can be changed back to all black or colors of your choice pretty easy. Again, I'm replacing it cause i want to start doing some freeflying and my colors are red and yellow.. so i bought the red and yellow tye dye wings container.. Good luck!! Peace, Love & Skydiving... I haven't heard about he No test thing.. at our dz.. you have to complete the card and when your done you take the test and THEN get stamped the A lic on it.. You send it in with the USPA and $20 and within a week or so you got your number. I think $50 is cheap for the USPA membership.. damn Parachutist to me is worth a million!! $20.00 for the glory of being a licensed skydiver with number..Priceless!! Peace, Love & Skydiving.. Tina

I don't have much advise on this one.. but I'll offer support.. my parents were there for my first tandem and EVERY single jump up to jump Number 30.. it was a blast having them there..and I would still love for my dad to come.. I can make you laugh with tons of reasons you don't want your parents at the dz.. 1. My mom ran out on the landing area after a face plant yelling"are you ok, are you ok?" ewwww.. that hurt the ego worse than the face.. 2. My mom cheers and whistles every time she sees a swoop. 3. She reminds me to "buckle my seatbelt" before every single load.. Parents gotta love um!! LOL.. yours will come around.. I promise.. While they might not ever be supportive.. they will someday accept.. and then then will brag to family members "that there kid is a skydiver" be careful what you wish for.. hehe P.S.. if they don't accept...eventually they will learn that if they want to see you they'll have to come to the dz.. !!
