After tons of research, I bought All used gear and a new Wings container. I found it to be cheaper to buy the "package" w/ cypres than to try to piece it together.. Tons of people are talkin ZP and F111.. do you know the difference? I rememeber when i first started jumping i heard MANY different viewpoints..but never really understood the fabric difference.. If your not sure, let us know and we'll explain.. I won't do it now to spare the long post.. hehe.. anyway.. my suggestion is if your having ANY difficulty with landings you might want to strongly consider ZP ... My Home DZ is Archway Skydiving in Vandalia IL.. also the home of a few other DZ.comers on here! I gotta tell ya.. I started at Archway on June 16, 2001 and from the minute I walked in the door, I fell in love with those people. EVERYONE is extremely helpful. I did AFF in just 1.5 months and I never had to worry about about having someone to jump with, even right of student status! AFF instructor is the USPA regional director, DZO is awsome is there at all times for any assistance. Rigger and wife (gear person) have assisted me with last minute DELIMAS all the time!! Like stayin till wee hours of the eveing to pack repack my reserve and assemble my new container so i could take it to a boogie (yeah wooo hooo) and going through about a million questions on gear before i committed and purchased. What else can i say.. all the JM's are the BEST & after the sunset load.. ahhhhh.. bonfires till sunrise.. Here's to "us" the new generation of skydivers and cheers to all the new students this summer will bring!! I could not have ever found a better place to call home.

i haven't tipped yet for a reserve repack.... but you know what.. that is a DAMN good point.. I think you should tip the person that is responsbile for the "last chance chute".. I do however tip my packer. I know I know.. i get alot of grief for this, but since I injured my knee (torn tendon requiring surgery).. I have a packer who's been pretty much at my beck and call. it is AWSOME and i know I'm way spoiled. As soon as I'm down, I'm packed and can manifest on the very next load.. and every time i come down, he's always curtious to ask "how were the openings?" .. if i ask him to try something differrnet.. its NEVER a problem... Our packs cost $5.00... and I usually pay $7.00 on average... He's 14 and happy to earn the money.. I'm injured and thankful he's an awsome packer! Busses here don't work. I am an asshole. ...Tina

I'm with ya!! Cheers to this site! It is so awsome that all of us share this incredible bond.. and being able to go to places and make jumps with the people that we talk to each and every day is incredible... like Kreg was saying...at Mardi Gras Boogie.. there we were.. sitting on a CASA load at about 3K.. I was sitting across from Jabeln79 (Joe) and Gulfcoastxtreme (Clark) when I decided to ask (Joe noticed it and we were thinking but weren't sure) anyway.. I said to the guy across from me.. "are you on dz.com" he smiled and said "I'm WINGNUT".... then several voices followed " I'M DUCKY" ... "IM SKYGEEK" I'M N2SKDVN" "I'M CANOPYCUDLER" ... I'M GULFCOASTXTREME" I'M JABELN79"...... and from there... the Magic Carpet ride was created. I think the favorite Picture I have is the one with all of us in the back of that CASA! It really was a Kodak moment.. hehe. I think its great that all of us can learn from each other on here.. thats the wonderful thing about this sport.. you can never have it all figured out.. somebody has a suggestion that might make your world just a little easier (like leaving the center cell open on the Omega when packing ..
