Just expressing about my 1st jump
npgraphicdesign replied to GypsySkyy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Who are you kidding? You don't skydive. Oh wait...that's me as of late...doh!! -
High: Looking forward to the money coming in from a few freelance gig so I can ski in the winter and book myself a trip to a boogie in January. Low: Not being able to jump the last few weeks.

Maybe I am an unsympathetic a$$hole as well, but unless you have a proven medical condition that makes you gain weight, you have no right to complain. If you eat your way to obesity, don't exercise, don't maintain a healthy lifestyle, you have NO right to complain about having to do something LIKE purchase 2 seats on an airline, or complain about a store not having clothing in your 'size' (Heard that one in person one day in a clothing store). Have some respect for yourself.

GoPro front helmet metal mount?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Photography and Video
I would hope your ski helmet is better than your skydiving one... I know mine is for that reason. Good point. What do you use for a skiing helmet? -
GoPro front helmet metal mount?

You do realize that most skydiving helmets offer little protection from actual impacts that are more than a foot kicking you or something... right?? Yes...and? -
GoPro front helmet metal mount?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Photography and Video
That's not the one I was looking for, but that looks like it will work. Thanks! And to answer your question, yes. But I also ski during the winter, and that's what I will be using the camera. My skydiving helmet that I'm working on right now will double as a ski/camera helmet during the winter months when I'm not skydiving. -
GoPro front helmet metal mount?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Photography and Video
Saw something in Google images while searching for GoPro images and can't find it now!! It's a front mount for a GoPro that looks like a curved metal plate that screws onto the front of the helmet. The the GoPro is secured to it just like any other ordinary mount. Would love to know a. who makes it and b. whether anyone has had any experience with it. Thanks! -

Heaven help you if I catch you at full altitude next time. -

Thanks Andy. I definitely learned a bit more..both about grounding myself and choppy wind landings. ;) And to top it all off, I sprained my ankle today while jogging and doing box jumps. This is just not my week! -

Thanks JRM. It was fun to jump with ya...even though we spent most of the time chasing each other. :P I hope Paul is ok too. I think I'm going to try to shake it off and go for a run... -

Not jump in marginal conditions? Amen. That's why I called it after two jumps. And they did have students and some other low number jumpers like myself going up, and said the winds weren't that bad, so I gave it a go. -

...so another skydiver and myself (both doing solos, going right after one another) tumbled like sacks of s*** on landing. Probably caught in the same very wonky winds, irregular gusts, etc. He crabbed then tumbled a few times, and when I came down, about 12-15 feet above the ground, my canopy just came straight down. We landed about 20 feet from each other. The Tri210 I have has a pretty steep glide angle as is, and it was reduced to almost nil that first jump. I don't think my canopy could've collapsed that close to the ground, but I had no time to look it..barely had time to react. What really freaked me out is that I BARELY had time to react. I pulled my toggles down as fast as I could, and still hit the ground pretty hard, and didn't slow down much. A few people asked us if we were ok when we came in, and we were...but I am so sore right now. My whole body is aching... So has anyone else been suddenly dropped out of the sky? What could you have done differently in the situation? -
Simple solution to reduce fuel/operating cost so that EVERY DZ can have a large plane. instead of seats or benches, put two rows of stationary bikes in the larger planes. Run the chain from the bikes to the propeller. Have skydivers pedal their way to altitude, and the pilot then just glides the plane down. Step and repeat. No fuel wasted, operating costs reduced, and there's the added bonus of getting in shape as well. This idea is brilliant. I already have the patent in the works. Who's with me on this???

Oh did I say congrats yet? Seriously, congrats! Wish I was jumping today...but the weather isn't being cooperative. But..my reserve is repacked for next weekend!

There is NOTHING wrong with sex on TV!!
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
That's why you date gymnasts. I dated a former gymnast/cheerleader for a bit. She was quite a few years older than I was, but the shape that woman was in and her flexibility........oh the memories. Sorry..back to our regularly scheduled one-liner thread. -

Flat screen or big tube? Big tube...or so I've been told. Goats are talking to you now? You're living up to your signature.
