it's highly possible that the cause of your symptoms was the fit of your tandem harness It may not have been that you harness was not too loose but to tight. If the harness is too tight it is possible that your blood flow was being shunted away from your brain causing you to feel the way you did. i I'm sorry to hear that your first experience was not what you hoped for but don't get discouraged. Why not just get a go pro and set it to shoot a still every two seconds? In my opinion, there is no better option for a still camera than a......still camera. Chuck Bryan

A friend of mine recently cracked the frame on her carbon fiber road bike, because of the manner the incident happened the manufacture wouldn't warranty the bike. The local bike shop sent the frame off to a guy locally that repairs surf boards who was able to repair it. Perhaps you have someone locally that could take a look at it for you. Good luck, sorry about your lid. Chuck Bryan

I have a FTP with the extended plate, I have had my camera mounted in both spots, top and front. I find it more comfortable to have both my video and still mounted on the top. Good luck, have fun, be safe. Chuck Bryan

There's a place in Holly Hill Florida called Green's Camera Tech 386.257.1366 I always took my old PC camera to them when I had problems. There prices are always reasonable. I hope that helps. Chuck Bryan

skysystems uh,,,, Hmmm maybe I'll be coming home with a new camera helmet. I'm so ready for this weekend. Not that anyone cares, but this vacation is my 40th birthday present to myself! -
if that doesn't work, try handbrake, it's another converting program.

I took my ratings with Jay Stokes, and if I remember correctly it was about 300.00

So, just what exactly is the BEST solution???????

If you are editing from a camera that uses tape, you are not going to be able to edit any faster with a computer than with the system you have now. Many people have gone to camera which use the sd cards. For people using cameras (like the sony cx series) that record to an SD card it is faster to edit using a laptop. Which system is best, well, that would be the one that works for you. For me, it is using my computer and a cx 100, why you may ask? because I had a computer so therefore it was less expensive for me to buy a cx100 and edit with my computer. Additionally, It is easier for me to carry my laptop to a dz than to carry editing gear. i.e. what works best for me. Can you edit a tandem video in less than 12 minutes? Depends on what you want to do with the video and how good you are with your editing program. On it's face, I would say the answer to that question is yes you may be able to edit a simple tandem video in 10 to 12 minutes. However, you would have to wait for it to render which would take about another 10 minutes depending on your computer. So you could edit, make the next load and the rendering would be done by the time you were ready to start the next video. YMMV Do what works best for you. And be safe, that works best for everyone. Chuck Bryan -
What video program are you editing with? Honestly, I don't shoot in HD, and I don't render in HD. Is it really that important to you? Do you customers have an HD DVD player and an HD TV. Rendering in HD takes time. The laptop you spoke about is good, in my opinion. I personally think you would be fine shooting in SD and rendering in SD. How long is it going to take you to edit? That depends on you, and what you like to do with your videos. If I'm editing a tandem and I just drop in the leader, the tandem video and the footer then add the music it probably takes me 10 or 15 mintues to edit but I'm not very fast at it yet. If I drop in the leader, then the tandem video, cut the clip re-drop in the freefall section run that in slo-mo the patch it all together and drop in the footer and music it probably takes me 25 minutes or so. The it takes about 10 minutes to render. Do I think you are going to land, edit, pack and be ready for a 20 minute call? I don't think so. Do I think that you can edit a simple tandem video on the computer you have in 20 minutes? Yea probably pretty close to it if you are good with your editing program. Let me know how it works out for you, have fun and more importantly, don't get in such a rush that you forget to be safe. Chuck Bryan PS personally, I would delete mcafee off the computer. download something like AVG free for virus protection

CarolinaFest 2010 - Skydive Carolina

Pre registration complete, hotel is booked, I can't wait. It's been a long time since I've been to Skydive Carolina. I'm looking forward to a great time. See ya soon. Chuck Bryan -
It took me some getting used to as well with my cx 100 and new lens. You aren't going to just keep adjusting the focus to infinity. Just set the camera to focus on something about the distance away you normally shoot and you should be okay. You have to look closely at it when you are on the ground to make sure you have it set right. Chuck Bryan

cx-100 importing to Vegas Platinum
freefalle replied to bigorangemd's topic in Photography and Video
I don't have a card reader for mine so I just connect the camera to the usb port via the cable, it seems to work fine. The file is the file regardless of how you transfer it to you computer it won't change it. If you like to use the card reader, do so. Have fun with it. Editing in vegas takes a bit of practice but once you get it, it's pretty easy. Good luck Chuck Bryan -
He probably could have it moved but the problem would be getting insurance to move it. Its a subcutaneous and the placement of the device is irrelevant as long as the leads are properly placed but explaining to the insurance company "hey I need you to pay the doctor to move this thing so I can skydive" probably won't fly. I know a guy in Deland who had a special pad made that covered his device to protect it, he said it worked well. If you'd like shoot me a PM and Ill ask him about it. Chuck Bryan

I would recommend talking to you doctor before skydiving with an ICD device, I believe your concern is justified. My thought would be that a hard opening may displace the leads. Is your device an pacer ICD combo or just an ICD? Not that it makes a difference, I was just wondering.

So, I've started using sony vegas movie studio to do my video editing, here's my question So I drop the clip into the time line then I drop the music into the time line that I want to use what I'm doing not so that you can hear the audio from the main clip is split the music clip, lower the music level and then turn it back up after the audio from the main clip is no longer needed to be hear. Inversely when I want to hear the music instead of the main clip audio I have to split the clip on the main clip and turn it down etc. Is there a faster way to do this? it seems like I take a long time splitting clips and turning up and down volume. Thanks for the help Chuck Bryan

Okay Doug, another stupid question, what do you mean? Thanks for breaking it down for the challenged. -
I don't know how happy you'll be with the video from the SD go pro. I've see the photos from the SD gopro and I like them, they are great for what that camera is. But I'm not really impressed with the video I've see out of the SD go-pro camera. That being said, http://www.chutingstargear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=57_59 has a variety of mounts for the co-pro, be safe and have fun Chuck Bryan
