...Thanks Phil, i have read it and i understand the reasons. Just looking at purchasing a G9 or G10 for NUMEROUS other reasons and was just hoping that in the near future it could be possibly adapted for use in a skydiving application... as i would love to get into shooting stills and eventually video. Of course a DSLR is the best option but the Canon G9/10 is truly an amazing camera for what it is and the size makes it very appealing to me for a considerably low weight/profile option for a helmet scenario, especially for a beginner. Not to mention a FRACTION of the price of a DSLR!! Thank you for your info and concerns.

Ok thank you great info to know... i am new to the G9 and def new to jumping with a camera, thats exactly the sort of info i am looking for!! So there would no real way to your knowledge to make the G9 work in a helmet mounted scenario?? How about the new G10? i think i read something about that possibly having a remote port... thanks again.

Looking to purchase my first rig through the dropzone classifieds... i would like to get it sent to a rigger to be inspected before purchasing... I understand that this is a fairly common practice... ANY suggestions on how to make this happen, so that both parties are covered!?!?!
