my 1st and last day at the Irish parachute club

Good point, I've 40 more jumps than henry, and only now am starting to feel more comfortable in the plane, Very unfair of Mr Hackett to say that about us low jump number people, I trust you are not an Instructor, as I wouldn't like to look to you for confidence and inspiration. -

Irish Skydiver 1st trip to Orlando FL
skydiveul replied to skydiveul's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hi guys, I'm a newbie and will be flying into Orlando the end of next week for 5-6 days, leaving on tue 27th. Naturally I'm bringing my rig, but am travelling alone as it's not a skydiving holiday. As the weather here in Ireland is pretty crap, I want to jump my ass off so am looking for advice. What dropzone/dropzone should I hit, I'm flexible as to where I stay once I'm near Orlando for a day or two. Should I go to one dropzone for 3-4 days and get a lot of jumps, or cram in 2 or 3. I'm lookin at Deland, Z Hills and Sebastian as the nearest to my base. Finally, what do I need to have when turning up at a new DZ, I've got 80 odd jumps, an Irish A Licence, 3rd party ins etc. And finally again, is there anyway i could apply for and get a USPA licence while I'm there?? Thanks guys Damo -
Thanks to everyone for the replies, Quasar II it is.

hey guys, buying my first rig, and due to a shortage of good used gear here in Ireland I'm buying new gear. Was waiting way too long for a wings, and now my dealer tells me he is moving to strong parachutes quasar. I'm not overly gucci on gear, but it is my first rig, so any advice??

Republic of Irelands 1st University Skydive Club
skydiveul replied to skydiveul's topic in Introductions and Greets
Hey guys, new to the site. Damien here from SkydiveUL. We're the University of Limericks Skydive Club, ( finally in existance after months of "insurance Questions" from non believers ha ha). Any how since I got the go ahead to roll out the club in march, we've jumped over 60 newbie's at static line, and almost a third are progressing through the courses, well happy with the result. I honestly thought i'd be twisting my friend's arms to join!! September's recruitment looks set to be overwhelming as we try to heighten the awareness of the sport here in Ireland. So expect me to be askin advice here on lots of issues such as gear , dropzones in other countries etc I'm relatively new to the sport myself, but set up the club cos I think everyone should skydive!! Blue Skies Damien
