  1. Cheers y'all, Yeah, would not recommend it personally but it certainly gives you a whole new take on life. Bit concerned I was going to get all religious at one point but thankfully that didn't happen ;) And I really shouldn't be here typing this now. They say your life flashes before your eyes...well, the garden furniture flashed before my eyes and that's about as near as I came... Life is a truly wonderful thing that needs to be lived. And lived fully. I'm no longer troubled by the little things in life as before. If the bus is late - then the bus is late. If I'm late - sue me! :p Face everything with a smile and before long the smile will never leave you :) Jez (actually, that was a bit religious...shit)
  2. Sleepwalking can hurt... Came home to London after jumping in Phoenix (Skydive Az). Was told by those I was with over there that I was sleep walking most of the evenings. I never sleep walk normally. Could be to do with the adrenaline...who knows. Anyway - came home on the Monday. Went to work on the Tuesday (getting a bit Craig David here...). My girlfriend told me I phoned her around 12 am and the next memory I have is waking up in intensive care a week later. This is the story: It turns out that during the night I got out of bed, still asleep. I then went to the bedroom window which is one of those big sash jobs. It opens very much like the door of an Otter. Then I must have opened the window fully and threw myself out. This would have been cool if I lived in a bungalow but my room is on the 3rd floor!!! (oucharoony). I hit the patio pretty much head first but my shoulder took a lot of the impact. I managed to break pretty much every bone in my back apart from my spine (which is nice) and cracked my skull etc. Many operations later I'm doing fine now and my face has started to move again (it was paralysed - like a facial palsy). So I guess this is a message to all of you. We love this sport for reasons only we can understand but I'd recommend having some time off if you're jumping in a foreign country and don't go straight back to work. Jet lag is a dangerous thing!!! Is that the lowest Base jump yet??? Jez "Back to jumping in Spring" Davies
