  1. hmm..should work on a cold day Ok fair enough...how about 'hurtling hippopotamus'? this is good... I'm biased toward the gory ones. classic...I will have to get myself an airtrash t-shirt Ok this is in my top 3
  2. Ok we have some good ones here. I'm compiling a list for a whuffo girl I'm trying to impress. How about "flying fatty"?
  3. Ah yes, I forgot about the old standby. Ok I forgot about that one too! Yes, I think 'meat bomb' might be the winner. I already get called asshole pretty regularly. Ok...that's just wrong somehow. /facepalm
  4. Is there any derogatory term that our whuffo friends can use instead of "skydiver"? I don't think I've ever heard one, but I'm sure they would like a better comeback when we call them whuffos.
  5. I was spoiled with a perfect June Cleaver type stay at home mom, so I guess I'm severely biased.
  6. I wouldn't know about raising kids, but I suspect that kids tend to "turn out better" if there's at least one parent at home full time.
  7. In case you haven't noticed, both parties regularly lie, increase the size of government, and build on the debt. Despite the seeming hopelessness of it, voting still has some small value in that it gives us a tiny range of choice we can use to vote tactically.
  8. I picture rock climbing to be like skydiving for people who are in shape.
  9. There's no problem with greed in general, but with certain actions taken in its name that harm society as a whole. This happens pretty regularly...a few examples: price fixing, predatory lending, deceitful investment advice, industrial pollution, toxic food, and of course big companies that buy up newer, better technologies just to bury them forever. Greed is good in that it is one of the main drivers of our society, but we should recognize its limitations and plan for them. This is why Libertarianism is as much a Utopian idea as Communism. Everyone rushes to stick up for the much-maligned 'greed,' but what about our other shared values of solidarity and community? You can thank our broken public schools and media for this phenomenon.
  10. I agree...but at the same time we also don't want to ascribe to incompetence and laziness that which is motivated by intentional greed and malice. Certain financial firms and energy companies come to mind. There's no conspiracy theory here, just rational actors doing what's best for themselves at the expense of the rest of us. Even libertarians become concerned when someone else's free actions harm them. Most Americans actually agree on all the meat and potato issues of daily life. All the confusion is manufactured by those in control mostly through our sycophantic power-worshiping media. This is why they're coming for our internet now. It's a powerful new tool of democracy and they want to control it.
  11. I think most "liberals" will agree the biggest failure of Obama's presidency has been the continuation and expansion of Bush's Orwellian policies, but examples like this demonstrate there really is very little difference politically between the two parties. Both parties are basically corporate owned entities with slightly different strategies for placating the masses. It's all a dog & pony show designed to divide and distract the populace. Those with their hands on the levers of power love that we idiots are down here bickering about Obama vs Bush. Political Science 101. I'm here all week folks.
  12. Well it would make a lot more sense if you weren't! ;) Being a stay at home mom is fantastic and it's a privilege for those who can afford it, but it's silly when absurdly wealthy people start bashing those moms who have to work for a living b/c they can't afford the luxury of raising their kids 24/7. I hope to be a stay at home dad some day in keeping with my inherent liberal laziness. Great point! Different situations tend to call for differing ethical solutions. We live in a complex world after all.
  13. Wow. I didn't realize that every single mother out there fell into this category..... War on woman, indeed. Just like they claim to do all the work for society, the rich also love to make our political arguments for us..lol This is funny: "A handful of House Democrats, encouraged by the recent bipartisan agreement that stay-at-home moms should be considered just as hard working as anyone in the workforce, will introduce legislation to apply that standard to mothers on welfare as well." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/18/work-act-low-income-moms-ann-romney_n_1434384.html
  14. So some little tramp who goes out and has unprotected monkey sex with an uneducated deadbeat who takes off and doesn't provide any support, who then is forced to find a job and have a strange daycare provider is a hero? And a woman who uses birth control or abstainence, waits until she is in a commited relationship, waits until she and her husband can afford to have children, chooses to stay home and raise them instead of dumping them in daycare and having someone else raise her child is a scumbag? Wow!!! ....wow is one word for it I guess LOL. There certainly is a rich variety of opinion on this forum.
  15. So I guess you're going to fall into the 'class warfare' trap being perpetuated by the left. Actually the majority of the "class warfare" appears to be coming from the rich lately. It's clever how they spin that isn't it? And they even have regular Joes like yourself defending them.
  16. Does anyone actually think that Ann Romney has worked a day in her life? Ordering around nannies doesn't count as work. The sad truth is the majority of rich people in the US simply inherited their business and/or wealth. Horatio Alger was a fiction author. The real hero in society is the single mother working 2 jobs, but they don't usually make it on Fox News or CNN.
  17. I will, but first you prove Odin doesn't exist. I didn't say Odin doesn't' exist... The person who claims the existence of something supernatural has the burden of proof. Until then we can safely assume it doesn't exist. We can all agree that Santa doesn't exist even though there is no "proof" of it. My grand-kids believe Santa exists, just because you don't believe it does not make him any less real to them. YOU stated God doesn't exist, if that's your opinion okay...if you're stating a fact I again ask for confirming indisputable proof. Personally I don't believe in God...Ron however does. Who's right?? We BOTH are because we don't tell each other 'you're wrong'. Never a good idea to tell someone of faith there IS no God, because the mere fact they hold that faith 'proves' existence. That's all. Fair enough! I won't say god doesn't exist unless someone brings up god existing first. I need to learn how to stay on topic!!! lol
  18. True, I guess the phrase "real america" just annoys me.

  20. I will, but first you prove Odin doesn't exist.
  21. Your post made no sense to me. That's ok, It was a rhetorical question anyway.
  22. Well that was an underwhelming response.
  23. If we don't blow ourselves up first, someday humanity will intellectually evolve beyond religion, racism, and war. How does it feel to be on the wrong side of history, rooting for hatred and violence? Oh yea, and god doesn't exist. Sorry to burst your bubble there chief.
