Or just their applicability to swoop canopies, which aren't the concern of the original poster? Or maybe your use of quotes was messy and you weren't disputing the data itself. Point I was making is that he's admittedly sketchy on his horizontal speed data. His evidence of reduced vertical speed is a given as a function of horizontal vs. horizontal (glide slope, right?). After all, isn't that the effect you'd loo for? Upon looking at his very low wingloading, I doubt the average jumper will experience such an magnified decrease in airspeed.     You're still going to have full flight speed even if you've used your rears to extend your glide, no matter how high you do so. A touch of rears won't significantly distort your canopy or slow you down and you should have full access to your regular flare. Getting on my rears reduce my vertical speed about 30% and my horizontal is reduced about 15-20%, based on GPS recorded data. The horizontal is a bit harder to nail down due to the fact that the ground speed (GPS) and air speed are not the same. Better tell the swoopers. Read Germain's book and begin understanding the flight dynamics of your wing. And practice. Then practice more. And more. Do it up high; make high pulls dedicated to canopy practice; fly relative to another canopy to see the result of each technique. Then practice more.

I understand they didn't want anyone to be able to delete all their records because they're just clicking shit, but DAMN, what a pain in the ass. I just had to read for content... you have to change all your 'warning altitudes' to "100" for the current 'memory bank' before you can execute the logbook delete sequence. Again, derrp. Got er done.     I purchased a used Protrack ~3 years old. I want to clear all the previous settings/jump records and am trying to delete the logbook using instructions from the online manual, but it won't delete the entire logbook (as the manual says it should), but it will delete jump-by-jump.     Strained rotator cuff, throwing a log (and I do mean LOG) into the firepit. With all the beverage assistance, I didn't feel it until the next morning when I woke up and couldn't lift my right arm. Worried about it a bit, went and got breakfast, drank my coffee with my left hand, did a couple practice touches and jumped anyway. Hell, silver was right there, right? The most fun was driving home with a stick shift. I stuck my hand on the shifter and used body-language whenever I had to change gears. I must've looked like I was having a seizure when shifting. That crap took a couple months to go away. Lesson learned? Once you've cracked a few, get the FNG's to stoke the big shit in the pit!
