im not sure what to think of cooper...... A skydiver would have carried a rig onto the plane. why go through the bother of such a request unless a total idiot.

............ Honestly, what is known about the money bag? I would like to do a float time test, but I need to know more about the bag (otherwise the experiment is pointless). ............... someone (a skydiver ..Ted comes to mind or his twin??) built a "model" of skydivers exiting an aircraft Freefliers vs belly fliers to show it was possible to cross paths. Maybe the program can be tweeked to show drift of different objects.... i do not remember the the skydivers name. I believe this simulation/program would be usefull. Chuck

....... I want to go on record as saying; “I don’t think the weather that night was nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be”. It wasn’t exactly “swimming weather” but it wasn’t “the storm of the century” either. ................... as a backpacker....i do know that freezing temperatures and wetness of the body can kill you. furthermore, previously i indicated that its possible to stay warm sleeping in a dry canopy below freezing...but did not conclude that a wet canopy would keep one alive all night at freezing temperatures. just my 2 cents. edited to add that i see the temperatures were around 40F at night

Could the container have been altered, or the material of the round be different? ......................... im thinking the canopy found can be traced to a manufacturer and rigger??? did this canopy come from the same source as the ones cooper used??

....... ...............l ow_pull1 , If the canopy was a 28 stuffed into an NB6, then wouldn't there at least be a S/N for both the canopy and the container? Wouldn't there be two sets? And if there's two sets, what were the numbers that Ckret posted on the previous thread (container or canopy)? ........ an older jumper has to jump in,,,,im not sure how th sns worked on the rounds, maybe we can ask in the riggers area, since these are the guys that record what they pack....... all newer (correct me if im wrong) canopies and containers have sns seems that carr may have provided sns,,,but for what....canopies or harnesses.....

shouldent there be a sn for the following 4 items: 1) back container 1 2) back container 2 3) reserve 1 4) reserve 2 (of course this was a dummy) any old timers know if the reserve " containers" had a sn associated? I doubt thre are, but this would be 2 additional s/ns

This is pretty confusing. If that is the S/N and not the model number, wouldn't it be the S/N of the harness / container, not the S/N of the canopy? ...................... I never saw if the sn was for the canopy or the container. Maybe i missed it. anyone know if the sn was for a canopy or a container?

The container is still in the ground.... why? How hard is it to spend half a day with some equipment and go through the piled dirt? Wouldn't it be more resposbible to do that then to go on TV and make national headlines if it's the wrong chute? ................. i was wondering the same thing, Dig it up before the looters come.

1) will they find a body? 2)will they find an Empty harness? 3) did Duane plant the Canopy? 4) was there a DZ close? (Ralfph, chime in if required!) 5) will carr be back? 6)would a canopy last that while burrried? 7)? we will soon find out! any comments?
