Warren Buffett calls for higher taxes for US super rich
marks2065 replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
the issue isn't lack of work, the issue is a lack of people with money to pay for the work. That's immaterial, since it doesn't leave an opportunity for Bill to make his snide remarks at your expense. the right wants to make people work the left wants to control what they think everyone is entitled to. It sure wasn't a bunch of liberals who trashed the stock market, caused skyrocketing unemployment, got bailed out by taxpayers, and then walked off with $millions in bonuses. you might want to rethink that -

it is only discrimination if a hard working white male gets the job over anyone else. If anyone else gets the job it is affirmative action. -

Why? because the future starts with the kids today. Teaching kids to be weak and helpless now lets them grow up to be Obamas later. -

because of all the things Obama does, blaming others is the only thing he is good at. -

All presidents up to this one did a pretty good job advancing the space mission. Kennedy really pushed space travel. But Kennedy understood the importance of the space program and the benifits to our country. Obama is wearing blinders and his narrow visions will in the long run hurt us. Our military advantages and our technology will soon be second place to another country leaving us in a weak position in the world. Every american here on DZ.com does not want to have our country become the 2nd or 3rd power in defense or economy. -

If Obama would get out of the way of the economy maybe I wouldn't have the time to sit on the computer and types things that make the liberals heads pop off. -

You let your 1st string work hard and do their best, this gives the other team a bar they need to reach. The second string needs work to so they should play also. Normally the 2nd string in these games are better than the weaker teams 1st string and that will still provide a higher bar to try to achieve. -

the mercy or slaughter rules do not make you not work as hard or to not do your best. You do your best until they stop the game, then the others can go back and practice some more. -

I thought that running up the score was always considered to be in very poor form in football, even at the NFL level. Notice that he is only be asked to hold back when his team has a substantial lead. The difference is how they react to being beat. If the leader is slowing down to equal the odds the others kids are not advancing. Bringing your play down to their level does not teach them to improve their skills and it teaches them that they don't need to improve. -

He is correct that America has gotten soft, look at the schools, they all get a trophy and a shrink to help them feel better about themselves. The world is an unfair, hard place to live and the kids are not being taught that. Part of having something bad happen in your life is to teach you about life. We have robbed the kids of valuable lessons taught by not winning, living through a dissaster, or not being the top kid in the class. -
Being assholes on the northern border makes them feel like they are relevant and that their job/existence has some meaning ....even with the knowledge that they have completely lost control of the other border (albeit through no fault of their own). It must be frustrating to them knowing that it is their own employer's policy to demonize, and sometimes criminalize them as they conduct their prescribed duties). The US customs oficers on the canadian border are assholes. when I have gone to canada the canada border agents ask where you are going and says have a nice day. Coming back to the US I have been questioned at length several times, stopped and searched, had my car door panels pulled back and damaged, and strip searched once. but at mexican border the US agents say have a nice day.

My pay decreased each year from 95- 2000 and lost most benifits. my pay has gone up each year since until 2009 when it started decreasing again. -

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/09/29/11-year-old-football-star-told-not-to-score-too-many-touchdowns/ Not vetted yet but sounds about right. that is correct, the new america is hold everyone down until the bottom catches up. The no child left behind act is really the no child can advance until the slower ones catch up act. -

but Obama is using that to cover his failures and push the leftist agenda. His ideas are not working and making things worse. things were much butter under Bush until the dems took over congress. -

The tech boom (read: industry) was growing at such a rate that it created wealth. You must admit that the bust happened under Clinton as well... To include Bush inheriting a recession from Clinton. * The NASDAQ peaked on March 10, 2000; * The S&P 500 peaked on March 24, 2000; * The Dow Jones peaked on January 14, 2000; * Manufacturing employment started falling in August 2000; * Industrial production started falling in July 2000; and * Manufacturing trade and sales started falling in April 2000. Well the military budget has been looked at as well.... That does not mean it should never be done again. If spending was controlled we wouldn't have a deficit either. Anyone that reads your posts. 40k a year is not 'destitute'. So you NEVER talk about ANYTHING else in class? Everyone likes to blame Bush and he did have a hand in the economy, but he also inherited a financial mess from CLinton. But what I respect the most about Bush is that he never passed the buck or the blame that I heard. Bush was a stand-up guy with principles. Many did not like his policies but he at least lety the blame fall on himself. Obama always finds someone else to blame. -
last I heard they could detain anyone on the base property for trespassing and then turn them over the the local police.
