no more debate about the Pelosi Plane needed!
marks2065 replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
or just deal with the fact that you live farther away from work than the other guy did. or Polosi could fly nonstop on united. savings on the american people priceless -
I hate most negative political ads, too; but a ban would be unconstitutional. I understand that... my commentary was mostly intended to be taken in jest... you could make them be 100% fctual and in full context.

as the deficit grows the spending should be reduced, all members of congress should be in coach unless they pay the upgrade. (and that includes the rep's) last I heard though is that Hastert didn't get a special, shiney new, doesn't need to stop for fuel plane. -

the elite think they are entitled to special provisions. They would be wrong but how do we stop it? Do you really think it wise, given the Kennedy assassination, the Reagan shooting, and general level of terrorist threats for the President of the USA to travel coach and hang around the gate with his carry-on bag waiting to board with "Group 3"? polosi and biden no special treatment. president needs some special treatment, but 2 airforce ones 2 helicoptors, and entire motorcade, all seem a little much. maybe 1 airplane, onehelicoptor and a couple bulitproof cars would be in order. -

Personally, I think it's a good ruling, but I'm not a lawyer, and I do think that consenting adults should be able to marry each other. The state shouldn't recognize religious marriages; it was an arragement of convenience that seems to have backfired bigtime. Wendy P. I don't think it was a good ruling, but I also feel that being gay is wrong. That being said I feel what the hell, let the gays get married then they can have loss of income through higher taxes, no significant other clauses allowing benifits to unmarried couples, learn about divorces and custody battles, pay allomony, generally all the negatives that happen because of marriage. then all the ones that don't want to marry will loose many benifits that they currantly get because they can't get married. The judges were wrong but the gay's may not like what they get.

all fed employees need to be on social security and have pay adjusted to meet private sector averages. they can have the same insurance that we do. this would save 120 billion plus, just like I said. -

Done. http://www.fedjobs.com/pay/pay.html According to the scale, above 60k does not come in until grade 11, step 7. From the page: Note: The following is a BASE pay scale. All U.S. locations (including Hawaii and Alaska) receive additional pay adjustments above the base pay ranging from 14.16% to 35.15% The few people whom I know who do work for the Feds do not make anywhere near 60k, being they are in low level jobs. you and bilvon seem to not have good infohttp://www.usatoday.com/money/economy/income/2010-08-10-1Afedpay10_ST_N.htm -

So what's that got to do with the price of tea in China? So tens of millions get paid less than teachers: they ain't teachers. Millions get paid a lot more than teachers: they ain't teachers either. Why should teachers get paid according to the value of jobs other people do? I am just saying they get great benifits, work only 9 months and get an above average salary and in the currant economy they should be happy and do the job well And they only get paid for 9 months**, so what are you beefing about? ** If school teachers are paid like university faculty, the 9 months salary is spread over 12 monthly payments, meaning that they are paid 3 months in arrears for the last month in the school year that they work. but they still only worked 9 months leaving more time to work part time in summer school programs or temp work wich would bring the pay up more but either way they are still payed very well compared to millins in the work force How is that ANY different from an hourly paid worker getting overtime pay for extra hours worked? I would actually hope that the people who educate my children WOULD get paid well - my kids' futures depend on them. I wish the lazy worthless teachers that I have delt with over the past 4 years would just do a good job and then maybe they would be worth what they are getting paid. -

costing 28b is a farce and you know it, putting gov employees on social security and making them pay in would only save money. and it would be huge -

I guess you are not looking at the big picture, the entitlement benifits would end and that would save billions in the near future and reducing pay to private sector levels would save billions now. -

rolling in a better direction than you, I am actually putting up thoughts with posibilities instead of feeding crap to instigate. What you have proposed is peanuts and would make an insignificant difference to the deficit. Give us some real proposals with hard numbers attached. what I put up would save about 120b a year. and that would be on the conservitive side. -
