What would you cut (is a question the libs like to ask)
marks2065 replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Starting, bachelor's degree, no teaching experience $45530 Starting, master's degree, no teaching experience $51425 10 years, $64k to $76k, depending on qualifications (education and cerification). Current maximum just over $100k Retirement plan, which is something not that many professionals outside the public sector get any more. My stepdaughter makes $35k as a public school teacher in the Chicago suburbs. She has a master's degree. I don't know where these mythical $100k average government employees are to be found. your step daughter is getting robbed then, the average starting teacher pay in illinois is 50k. just had this discussion 2 weeks ago with some other people and they were complaining about 50-60k a year to start. -

42k average? I know about 30-50 million people that would love to make 40-50k for only working 9 months a year. Have they went to college and didcated themselves to teaching our children? Nope, didn;t think so....when a Teacher actaully does their job, (some don't) they deserve a GOOD paycheck, and binifits...I want the Best teaching children, and being paid to do so! (This statement coming from a dropout) I've seen what lack of education cost me! Everyone that works hard deserves a good paycheck, but teachers only work 9 months a year, leaving them with thew ability to work in the summer and make extra money, teachers in illinois average over 50k a year to start. all have the top benifits. Bottom line is 30-40 million people (most likely alot more) make less and have to work 12 months. -

why do people always bring out the most important needs to cut, instead we should look at the least important. Lets start with putting congress on social security and medicare, that will fix those programs quick. then make all federal employees take the same retirement programs that the similar job in the private sector has. People living generation after generation on th etax payers sweat are the "most Important"? you GOT to be kidding me! BUT, I do like the rest of your idea... sorry I hit reply to the wrong post, it was supposed to be for bilvon's comment on cutting the benifits for soldiers -

How much will that save? don't know how much it would save but since the average government employee gets between 60-100k more a year in pay and benifits compared to its private sector equivelant i would bet it is alot. -

Jon stewart is a comedian and has no real thoughts that would be helpful to repair the government. not worth the time to go.

this should not have happened from either side. She is from moveon.org and had a wig on, probably was trying to cause trouble and found it. Look at the video, son. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhjg2W7vlMc A man stomped on the head of a 23 year old woman who was already down, having been tackled by another man who was holding her down. Listen - you can hear the when he does it. Brave boys, eh? You're on the wrong side of this. Retreat. Recant. Repent. ? I said they were both wrong, she was up to no good and they shouldn't have stepped on her head.

Christine O'Donnell: Some mice have fully-functioning Human Brains
marks2065 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
While a popular sentiment for better than the past 100 years, it's too extreme. If sitting politicians are never re-elected, institutional memory and competence at the managerial levels of government will always be at the rookie level. But capable management needs to have some experienced hands at the helm. The better solution is a balancing of competing interests: re-elect people who have shown to have a reasonable level of competence, but have term limits to keep them from becoming too entrenched, and to maintain a supply of fresh blood in the system. well then there is a simple answer, term limits and progression. must serve 2 terms in state office, then 2 terms in the house then 2 terms in the senate. You cannot move to the next level without first serving in the lower office. only the best will move to the next level. if a couple bad apples do get to the next level they would be weeded out going to the senate. -
yes they will, if they cut many social programs like health care, department of education, earmarks, and then any program that is political agenda related we could have a balanced budget in 1 year. congress needs to be put on social security and medicare and have their pay agjusted with GDP. term limits would be nice also, this would stop big business from padding their pockets. the voters have been used to reelect many in congress so they can continue to get kickbacks from large business. nobody seems to see that many in congress have millions of dollars after elected when their pay is only about 125k a year. reb's and dem's both are crooked but the dem's are bankrupting us at staggering pace instead of a slow pace. It is to bad people like polosi, Reid and frank keep getting reelected.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE.. what are you smoking? Ronnie RayGun took office with the horrendous debt that Carter had run up to 800 BILLION dollars.. the DEFICIT was about 11 TRILLION dollars when the NeoCon Chickenhawks left office.. WHO THE FUCK do you think ran up that deficit with their deficit spending.. especially for all those COOL Ray Guns.. Air Craft Carriers ( One of them even named after the Alheimers Patient in Chief) B1 Bombers B2 bombers.. Your hero's PROMISE small government... they promise fiscal responsibility,,,, they keep fooling you over and over and over... and you STILL do not get it. What does that say about most conservatives abilities to get fooled or are they just fools???? I can tell you that when the reb's are in control of the house we have fiscal responsibility, when the dem's control the house we have 10 trillion of debt.
-
Not until the fucking no minds who voted for the stupid fuckers who set all of the current deficit in order man up and take some of their supposed right wing responsibility and confess your sins against the American people Hmm - so you admit that the truth is there and that you simply refuse to admit it until someone else admits something that happened in the past. Fine - Bush Fucked up - he was a twit as a President, and his policies and the old GOP made some seriously bad decisions. Your turn. Are you going to admit that his policies and budgets are what Obama is still saddled with. The OMB certainly knows the facts. I am sure you might be able to find something that would enlighten you to facts. I know its hard.. but you are not going to find that information in your usual new sources though. Yes - I will admit that Obamas policies and budgets are what Obama is saddled with. Bailouts - Failed Cash For Klunkers - FAILED Heathcare Bill - FAILED (If you don't believe that watch the upcoming elections) Obama spent in his 1/2 term what bush spent in all 8 of his. Can you admit that? You really are not good with economics are you?? Bailouts - Failed

Until health benefits, survivor benefits, etc, will go to whomever the person designates, there will be a requirement for marriage. No shared health benefits when you have 4 or 5 girlfriends, but only a legal spouse is usually permitted to share work-provided benefits such as health care and life insurance (yes, I've heard of some companies that now allow for the inclusion of a "significant other, but they're rare). People just can't think anymore! the multiple girlfriend thing in reguards to insurance is easy, incorperate, put them all on the payroll (as house cleaners for you house cleaning business) and get a group policy. plus by staying single and having kids you get the head of household deduction on your tax return and earned income credit as long as you keep each wife's pay under 40k.

I thought Bush was out of the White House?
marks2065 replied to Belgian_Draft's topic in Speakers Corner
Why wait? Ignorant RWC fuckwits already blame Obama for everything else. Too bad for the fuckwits that the man has actually done more good for the everage person in the first two years than Shrub, Poppy, and Raygunz did during all of their terms. Not that RWCs ever let minor details like FACTS affect their opinions. Keep watching Faux News and listening to the drug addled gas bag. It is totally obvious that they have the best interests of the average citizen at the core of their values... NOT!! I didn't know that bankrupting the country was a good thing. adding 3 trillion to the debt in 1 1/2 years was ok. my fault now back to your regular missguided posting. -
and the white american is the racist? we don't agree with Obama and we are racist but most of the blacks vote for him because he is black but that is ok.

Arizona cuts access programs, many will die
marks2065 replied to Lucky...'s topic in Speakers Corner
this is the problem with liberals, they think we are responsible for other people bills. this is a sad story, but why didn't he pay for his insurance? I bet he has many unneeded things in his house that if were not bought he could have had insurance. this is a capitalist country and that means he should care for himself and family. either socialist or capitalist country have people fall through the cracks. unfortunate but part of life. I do believe that in the US the fewest number of people fall through the cracks and that make us better. -
I already would have to follow the laws of that country if I wanted to do business in that country. Same if you want to do business here.
-
no not make china adapt, only the companies that want to do business in the US.
-
no not at all, I think gov needs to get out of the way and let business work. Since Obama is not going to do that I would rather see him direct his policies at businesses in other countries to help level the field.
