Obama's failed stimulus program cost more than the Iraq war

Who gives a shit what religion the President is?
marks2065 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
the only bullshit is the liberals that refuse to believe the words coming out of Obama's own mouth. If you refuse to believe it then I guess you fall into that catagory. -

Ok, let me get this straight - you think that Obama is claiming that he is a muslim? no Obama has said he is a christian and was raised a muslim. what I think he is doesn't matter. that he is either a radical or a liar is what matters. -

How do you know that? Wendy P. well he said he is a christian and did belong to a church that had rev wright - that would be radical. I heard 5 different sound bites this morning of Obama talking about his muslim religion and how he was raised in the muslim faith - that would be the lie. one is true and it doesn't really make a difference. -

Where on earth have you got that from? Please tell me you're not serious?! I am indeed serious. If you think the same as John, perhaps you can tell me why? I can tell you why. Although its not true, there are MANY stupid Americans who believe that President Obama is Muslim! Riiight. Those are people who do want a christian president and who do care if the president is a muslim (hence why it was made up in the first place). That's the opposite of what JR said. I don't care if he is a muslim, I do care if he lies about his faith and if he is a radical in his faith. We do know he has either lied about his faith or is radical about his faith and that is disturbing to me -
One New Yorker's perspective on the "Ground Zero mosque"
marks2065 replied to likearock's topic in Speakers Corner
as long as those building the mosque are in no way associated with or recieving money from anyonyone that believes or supports the radical muslims that caused 911 and we know from interviews this is not the case. -
Source: http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2010/08/205_71329.html Well, well, Barry is finally coming out of the closet and showing his true colors towards guns. the only ones that doubted this was the liberals. that is why gun sales are at an all time high.

One New Yorker's perspective on the "Ground Zero mosque"
marks2065 replied to likearock's topic in Speakers Corner
there seems to be some issues that the church wants to work out but the port authority doesn't seem to want to work them out. why not the backing of the mayor and the president on this? these are the things that make me wonder what is going on. -

yes as long as the priests are sent to jail if guilty. (just like any child molester would be) -

sorry on the type of religion. What was discussed on a show was that this church had been there for a hundred years and was denied because of how high the building was going to be. like I said I don't have most of the details except but a 100 year old church not getting a zoning permit to rebuild but a Mosque that may have some of the radical people like those that caused 911 gets the ok? something is fishy. -
So I wonder if the whole issue they have with posting to this thread is wether or not we would accuse them of racism if they disagreed. the left must be racist if they are scared away because they are black.

One New Yorker's perspective on the "Ground Zero mosque"

Strong words but smart ones since it is obvious to anyone that the vast majority of Muslims had nothing to do with 9/11 and were just as horrified by it as the rest of the world. But words are just words and actions will always speak louder, especially in situations where it's easy to pay lip service to a certain ideal. We say that we can separate Islamic terrorism from the religion at large but do our actions support that? We have been given a chance to act on those words by allowing a moderate Islamic mosque to open near Ground Zero. What a great opportunity for us to show the Islamic world that, in spite of the terrible aftermath of that day, we do not hold them accountable for it. To show we recognize that Osama bin Laden has not succeeded in "hijacking Islam itself". Instead, we hear our so-called "leaders" comparing the mosque to the Nazis putting signs next to the holocaust museum or the Japanese establishing memorials at Pearl Harbor. Those comparisons only make sense if we believe that Islam, not al Qaeda, attacked us on 9/11. In fact, those comparisons only feed the false narrative that Osama bin Laden has hijacked the rest of Islam. Don't think that OBL isn't closely watching this story develop and will pounce on it for his own ends. There's nothing he'd like better than to be able to tell the Muslim world, "Look at that - American blames Islam for 9/11." Make no mistake about it, if the mosque isn't built because we can't separate Islam from al Qaeda, that is a significant victory for al Qaeda. what nobody seems to want to look into (and I don't know all the facts) is that rebuilding the catholic church that was destroyed in 911 has been blocked by the city of new york. maybe if some factsa of this come out I would understand the issue more but at this point I would have to say there seems to be something fishy going on. -
Let me see if i can explain this in crayon for you. Views formed by only understanding one side of the story are usually wrong or at the very minimum very skewed. Also what you say is rubbish every country has people who have different views. If the only thing you can come up with is go back to where you came from maybe its time to reevaluate your beliefs, that would be the intelligent thing to do. this country was built by people that did not like or want socialist or dictatorship style government. A large majority of the people today still feel the same way. what I don't understand is why some would leave their country because they feel america is a better country and then try to turn our country into what they left by changing us to a more socialist country. If a socialist government is better why don't they stay in their own country, if our country is so much better to make someone want to come here why change it?

The last time I read an analysis on that point, was about 18 years ago in KS (including KS income tax) and I believe the final effective tax rate was 51%. And the article mentioned that it didn't address how prices might fall if the businesses were taxed less, because it was difficult to estimate that change. (and they made their point already) certainly spending less is a big first step. I've posted my graph several times, no takers. When taxes are high, we enjoy our best times; taxes low things go to hell. Oh well, 100 years of history must be wrong. no history isn't wrong, just your interpritation of it.
-
what you don't seem to understand is that america is dirfferent by design and most of us don't want to be like the countries that have socialist governments. your views are fine, just not what we want here in the us, so take your views to a country that has your views.

now we understand why you say what you say

continuing to release moneys from the SS fund for reasons not intended is the reason they are having issues with soso security. Yea, it's not teh aging population growing and fewer young people paying into it and HC costs skyrocketing due to no/insufficient cost controls - no way. As long as doc can afford both his Porches and all 3 whores as well as, of course hius mansion, then I'm good withit. the democrats have added several different things to what social security has to pay out, it no longer pays only to those that pay in. the health care bill take millions out of social security. just because you don't have a porche and 3 whores doesn't mean the doctor that spent 10 years in school and spent several hundred thousand in tuition shouldn't have a few nice things. This is america not a socialist country, this is how things are here, the harder you work the more you can have, if you don't like it leave. we don't want a socialist society. and we don't want to pay for the lazy asshats the want to sit on their couches and get everying they have not worked for.

to bad the left can't be more like the last speaker. this is not a racial country this is an american country made up of many races. The left seems to only try seperate the races instead of uniting the american people.

Or military contractors to build something. Although Canada has approximately the same landmass to protect we're spending 30X what they do for defense. We speed over 7X what China does in second place. We even spend more than the rest of the world put together. Paying companies to equipping a military so much larger than it needs to be is the biggest example of corporate welfare in this country. you do understand we pay to protect many allies like Japan and canada. That is why their military spending is so much lower than ours. we could make them pay for their own protection but then we would have many countries with larger militaries and ours would have to spend even more to stay on top. I would much rather be in the country holing the gun than the country that is not holding the gun (or the country holding the smaller gun)

I am glad they are opposed to the unemployment extension. my daughter, like many, are sitting and waiting until the benifits run out. why take one of the 9 jobs that she has turned down when she makes $150 a month less on unemployment but has no travel costs. sitting and watching tv is better than working. Unemployment should end as it was designed and any job is better than no job. 2 parttime jobs works also. Some people will just have to suck it up and cut their spending.

You still denying that the last recession started under Clinton? The previous recession started March 2001, when Bush was president. No recessions started during the 8 years of the Clinton presidency. www.nber.org/cycles.html 4 of the last 5 recessions started during Republican administrations. right after the dem's agenda really started to kick in. People have been hiden from the the truth about alot of the deficit that reagen and bush saw, much of the debt under reagan and bush were from programs that started because of bills signed into law under carter and clinton that started after they left office.

companies should not be able to donate to those running for office. Only individuals should be able to donate and that donation should come only from claimed income.

Sorry Bill but were I am the school is very liberal ( very supportive of Obama and his agenda )and is very much for drug testing. The few on the right have stood against school drug testing. Just because someone one the right thinks drug testing for kids is ok doesn't mean those thoughts are not liberal thoughts.
