Well put, and spot on. Can anyone in SC claim they've actually learned something from kallend? I have learned his thoughts are twisted and usually are wrong. he may be learned but not smart.

To those who favor government health care:

Savings of 51B? Yeah, that would be significant. And how much of that will go to pay for the 45mil uninsured? leaving how much for all the new government employees that will receive retirement packages like congress, post office and military when they retire? still sound good? how much more do you want to pay for health care? -

We should always wait to do things until we can do them well. In other words, we should never do anything. Ever. Because there's always someone with higher standards. Even if you don't think the military runs well, it is still the strongest military on the planet. In any event, it's not about how well it's run, by your definition, it's about doing better than what we have now. That means an end to economic discrimination of healthcare, for starters. It also means removing the corrupt insurance companies from the equation. And give control to the more corrupt government? the one that denies a higher percentage of claims then the insurance companies? the one that runs medicade and medicre that pays less than the cost of the treatment? the one that has bankrupted the one they do run? -
And they get thrown out or voted out. . In what year was Hyde thrown out or voted out? What many on here seem to forget is that congress should vote how the people want them to vote and not how they act. no matter what an elected official does or thinks in his own life should not be what he votes. what the people that elected them feel is how they should vote. With that being said, an elected person could do something wrong in our eyes but still fufill the obligation of the office they were elected to by voting as the majority of the people in that district wish. unfortunately they vote how they want not they way the people want. IMO what I see more and more is that both sides are corrupt and moralless but the reb's seem to vote what the majority of the people want and the dem's say we don't know what we want and vote how they want reguardless of what the people want.

How about not increasing benifits for those that collect any government or dissabilty payments that have more kids. better yet reduce those payments if you do have more kids. I would prefer that the government neither encourage nor discourage people from having children. this doesn't discourage them from having kids, only from having government supported kids. So I guess you support government aid to children in rural areas.... just not urban areas right??? no, I said not to give additional aid to parents that have additional kids. nothing said about were they may live.

Or holding them accountable... The officer could taze the mother instead, but I don't think that getting the kid to behave any better. It might make parents spend more time working with their kids to help them be better people.

Well, Hitler HAD declared war on the USA (Dec 11, 1941) and Germany had previously attacked several US ships, so it's not like there were a whole lot of options. not according to the left. Many, even after pearl harbor, still wanted to continue talks instead of war. I agree with Bilvon that talking out a problem is preferred, but sometimes talking does no good. even after the declaration of war by hiltler we could have stayed out of the war but it would not have been in our best interests. kind of like Iran now, talking is good but when does it end being the correct avenue? once they have atomic weapons? once they have used them?

Pffft. What could possibly happen? Oh I don't know.... a couple of failed nation buiilding exercises..... a ruined economy... the rich getting very much richer as well as a bunch of friends of the administration making LOTS of war profits isn't that what is happening now? Obama paying his supporters with stimulus money.

people seem to forget about the possitives of war. We enjoy the benifits from advancements in technology every day that are developed only because of war.

If health care passes with the public option.....

there is more problems with medicare now than with regular insurance, why putr everyone on the mess that government already runs? That's only going to get worse once they pull the half-trillion or so out of it and freeze the doctor's payments, I think. I'd like to see them scrap both bills and allow interstate sales of insurance. I'd like to see them make that one change and nothing else, then evaluate it once they have a couple years of data to go on. The upside is, more competition should hopefully drive prices down. The downside is that whole 'interstate commerce' crap that Congress has abused for decades, now. From either side of the issue, it's a big fucked up mess. -
I look forward to Palin running again just for the bumber stickers. When I'm driving it makes it easy to figure out who the idiots are. yep the ones with Obama stickers stuck to their prius

lots of RW, "Real American" idiots do Rush needs to be taken seriously, notwithstanding the fact that he and his followers are utterly insane. He is advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government through unconstitutional means. His followers have guns. and that is their right to carry guns to protect themselves from government

In fact the country is far healthier economically under higher taxes than under low taxes. no the country is healthier with lower debt, now we can achieve this either by cutting gov spending or by raising taxes, I'll choose cutting gov spending.

Thak you for sumerizing it for us, unfortunately the left will call you a liar and probably a terrorist.

Why New Orleans was so damaged by Katrina
marks2065 replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
looks to me like a perfect example of why the government should not run health care. they just keep handing out money with no oversight or control. doesn't look racial to me, just fucked up. -
We PAID for tons of shit.. but way less than half of it was actually spent on stuff, the rest was profit for all those contractors who had friends in the administration. Its called war profiteering.. and they did it very well. proof? what was the dollar amount that was spent in Iraq, paid to wages, and kept for profit? Come on.. you are supposed to be a smart boy.... just type in" Iraq war profiteers" in the internets come on no proof isn't true, just like you tell me.

that is excactly the problem we have here is that nobody can do anything because someone will argue, fight or get their lawyer. Go to war the liberals yell, spend money the conservitives yell, don't go to war the reb's yell, cross into pakistan the united nations yell. it is a no win for any one so I say fuck them all and do what is best for america. this P.C. shit is really getting anoying.

I agree and I know that they have made huge profits, but they do employ americans and many have made money from investing through the stock market with them. (including the biggest oponent of capitalism, michael moore, is heavily invested in halliburtin). the problem is not that a company made profits but that people are upset they made profit with tax payer money. This is a problem with congress and niether the reb's nor the dem's have done anything to bid the jobs. the left screams about this but does nothing to stop it. they have controlled congress for 3 years and have not done a thing to stop it why? so if the left has a problem shouldn't they start yelling at their own? or is there not really a big problem? just showing a company making a profit to piss of people and further their agenda?

I got it... You can't answer. But my question is valid since THIS thread is called "How will the HC bill same money." You did know that this thread was called that right? Don't blame me for your inability to answer a simple question. I have not heard one thing from any person (news, Obama, congress, or even the people on here) how this health care program will reduce health care costs. I have heard things that will cost money, tell me who will control health care, how an additional 30-40 million people will be getting health care and how the bill will control what is paid to doctors, but not one thing that will lower the cost of actually providing health care. nothing about tort reform, nothing about standard coding for billing, nothing about making illegals pay for health care( they send billions back to their country but cannot pay for an office visit?) so I assume that since the bill doesn't lower health care costs I will see a huge increase in what I pay for health care so those that should take care of themselves can get another free ride on the hard working, tax paying citizens of the US.
