QuoteOK, so I guess you don't actually know anything about the reason for the holdup in deportation. Quotethere are alot of reasons that deportation gets held up. but what would the reason be for flying from mexico to ohare and then have to be let go? That is what Marcos doesn't understand( my customer that is the imigration officer) he is denied deportation on about 90% of all illegals that fit this description. the other 10% are taken and he doesn't know what happens to most of them. The illegals get detained, proven they are illegal and then the door is opened and they walk away. the system is messed up, but if we errored on the side of protecting the US the problem would start to go away because the illegals would start realize that they would be fighting a loosing battle and start to stay in mexico. (or were ever they are from)

And yes, I'm saying there are no Americans willing to do those jobs for the wages that are paid. You wanna have those jobs go to Americans? Enforce mandatory wages of $10 an hour for strawberry picking. I promise you Americans will line up around the block.
-
Don't kid yourself. have you SEEN the jobs they do? Nobody on unemployment checks is standing outside home depot waiting for a truck to come take them to pick strawberries in 100 degree heat or dig holes all day. I personally am in total favor of immigration reform but to say they are taking jobs legal citizens would do is just fucking ridiculous.

Slight difference for most of us between the proverbial "skeleton in the closet" and an actual skeleton in the ground. Negligently causing someone else's death is what it is, but it doesn't make someone a murderer, as some have idiotically claimed. For example, and the situations are far from identical, when Laura Bush was 17, she ran a stop sign and caused an accident in which another person was killed. Society allowed her to get on with her life, and properly so. Quotewas Laura Bush drunk? did she lie about why she was there or were she was going? Probably a different situation. Kennedy's situation is considered manslaughter. If we would have done what Kennedy did we would be in jail, instead Kennedy got off and then got to write laws to control us, maybe he needed to put his affairs in order first.

Deficits nearly a trillion a yesr for the next decade

Stop pretending that decreasing taxes works. The evidence of the past 30 years shows that it doesn't. -

Why am I not surprised, given that we have been practising Voodoo Economics for most of the last 3 decades. Most of the spending is systemic and has nothing whatsoever to do with Obama and his policies. The roots of the future deficits are deep and the seeds were planted decades ago. G.H.W. Bush was absolutely right when he called it "Voodoo Economics". As a nation we have been living beyond our means for decades. And as a reminder, Reagan nearly TRIPLED the debt in only 8 years. -
I Have a couple customers that work at Ohare, they are imigration police. they are not, at this time ,allowed to deport imigrants that they know are illegal. This is wrong and is a place to start. the problem is there are to many loop holes that keep the imigration police from being able to do there job. The lawyers and liberals have put up to many road blocks to imigration that they cannot do their job effectively.

sometimes when the list gets as long as kennedy's, some things are just going to get missed.

That's a pretty shitty thing to say. It must be a pretty dark world you live in if you really believe things like that. In another thread (http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3651402;page=7;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;) I asked you to suggest a real course of action to address a problem (illegal immigration). You gave a POS knee-jerk bumper sticker mentality answer that had obvious major problems. When I pointed them out you said I was "making excuses", so I gave some real suggestions that would actually address the problem we were discussing. You never bothered to comment on those suggestions one way or the other. It's almost as if YOU are the one who isn't interested in fixing problems, just finding things to whine about so you can bitch about Obama. I hope you can prove me wrong by offering a constructive workable solution for some of these problems once in a while. Don
-
But how do you know the story in the original post is even partly true? You're just taking it as truth because it conforms to what you want to believe, but the "article" offers zero proof of anything and only one "child" whining about others. All Jim Brown would have to do is go to their web site to find out that most of what he claims seems like standard operating procedure and maybe contact somebody. Took me just a few seconds to find that. WTF is Jim Brown's problem?

So, let me get this straight, you're denying that the health insurance companies are backing opposition to healthcare reform? Is that your claim? No, but it is an irrelavant point any way you look at it Is it? Clearly it's irrelevant any way YOU look at it, but I think there are some folks that need to know where and why all the "death panel" crap is coming from. Yep, the same people that currently ARE the death panel.

everyone keeps coming up with excuses, why not give a couple things a try and see what happens? it couldn't be worse than what we have and maybe some will just go home because we are actually tryinmg to put an end to illegals being here. doing nothing deffinately is not the answer.

so you remember what you said haha

I asked this in another thread, and at the risk of being redundant I'll ask you the same question: Can you offer a suggestion of how exactly this can be accomplished in practice? The only legal proof of US citizenship generally available to people, and not easily forged, is a passport. Should people have to show a passport to obtain emergency room treatment? A birth certificate is easily faked, at least as easily as is a social security card and illegals have those by the truckload. Your suggestion has emotional appeal, I'll give it that, but I guess I'm not smart enough to see how to implement it so you'll have to explain it to me, in enough detail so I can understand how it will work without at the same time keeping legitimate American citizens, legal permanent residents, legal foreign nationals such as tourists and non-resident visa holders, etc from obtaining necessary emergency treatment. Don
-
The first thing the welfare or food stamp worker does is to check citizenship if there is doubt (at least that was the case when I was a food stamp worker). And I actually LOOKED at the green card. It had to be a green card (permanent resident), not some work or student visa. Yes, you could do more enforcement. However, if the cost of enforcement ends up exceeding the cost saved, is it worth it? I'm not saying it's perfect. But saying that every single last one should be ferreted out is unrealistic. Really. Wendy P. All the illegals in jail and in the emergency rooms would be a good start. also the illegal parents that had kids here are collecting, they should have been sent back before the kids were born. And yes they should not collect if they are here illegally but some do.

So which of the items in Don's list would you eliminate? well lets see, how about anyone collecting money that isn't a citizen. that includes medical, social security, welfare, on dissability, or even the ones in jail. send them home let their country pay for them. Then we could go to the czars and their payroll, and don't forget about the billions sent over seas to countries that vote against us in the UN. (if they don't like our way of life why should they share in its benefits?) I think I just saved us a trillion dollars or more, that should be a good start.

i feel the tax rate should be under 30% and with the money I keep I will take care of myself. those that choose to waste their money will get what they spent it on, but that is a personal choice and should stay that way.
