The question at hand is did he worsen the recession. Not if it ends, was he responsible or just lucky. Try to stay on topic.

Are you unaware that it's gone up for the past 5 months? Not just this week? The second Q GDP numbers are also a substantial improvement on Q1. You can argue about debt, but claiming the recession is worsening is hard to pull off on anything but emotional lines. And to think that Obama had anything to do with the increase is B.S. The increase started before the stimulus bill and to this day only about 10% of the stimulus money has been distributed. The inflation and extended recession caused by the overspending is still to come.

How many contradictions or laugh out loud statements did you cram into this paragraph? first off, the President is always more popular after a major foreign event, whether it went well or was a disaster. Rally round the flag. It's a basis for the Imperial Presidency. But there's no such effect with internal economic woes. That's why Bush left as one of the least popular ever, and Obama's numbers will continue to trend down. The honeymoon effect is over. How does Bush get crucified for doing what is popular? It became less popular over time, and with each 1000 soldiers killed in action. That's why the GOP lost Congress after 12 years of control. QuoteDid the democrats and the left leaners not think soldiers were going to die? its war, people die. a large percentage of the all parties voted for the wars and a large percentage of the people thought the wars were needed. when the press only showed the negatives about the war the people lost their stomache for the choices we as a country made and put the blame on Bush and the republicans. The left is good and pointing fingers at everyone but themselves and trying to make others take the blame that rightfully belongs to them also.

Obama and the democrats are coming to me and telling me that I need help, I don't believe them. The burdon is on them to convince me this is in my best interest and they have no intention of doing that, only gaining control and making me accept their choices. -

That may be your opinion, but it is not mine, and I doubt you can find any reputable analysis to support your claim.

Tide changing elements directly from the Health Care Proposal

I have already shown that the original is unreliable. If you wish to believe every other point a proven unreliable document makes, that's your problem. Of course, rather than believing right wing blogs you could always check for yourself. QuoteNo you haven't, you have given your opinion that 2 items are false with no evidence to back your statements. Time to step up and show your evidence to back your words. pick out the sections that support your opinion. I have seen nothing from the left to prove what the right is saying is false, only shouting that everyone is lying. You, in this case, are just as guilty of doing what you acuse the right of doing. -
You couldn't be saying that left is trying to intimidate those the have different opinions because we all know that they wouldn't go against their preachings. Everyone uses propaganda to influence people, the difference being is that the left wants the hard working good citizens to pay for the lazy and system sucking asshats and the right wants everyone to take care of themselves and be a productive member of this country. This is what we need to focus on, our rights or government control and I choose our rights.

If any of this is true we don't want it. say you are correct and these 2 are false, prove everyone of these false and I'll consider giving it my blessing, if only one is true I don't want it. -
Obama's #s are going down because of how he is handling the situation not because of what he inherited. Bushes numbers went up after 911 because of how he handled 911 and when he did what was popular and needed he got crucified. The last 2 years of Bush's 2nd term was just signing off on democrat written policies because he had no backing becuase of his unpopularity. This will happen to Obama also if he continues on the path he is on. The feeling in the country is starting to change as people get more and more upset over the lies and broken promises from Obama and this will show in next years elections. Obama knows this and that is why he is pushing his agenda so hard because the democrats will most likely loose some or all the control in congress in next years elections and his agenda is not a popular one with the majority of Americans. Obama was elected more or less because of the people wanted a change from Bush not because he was a better candidate for president. As Obama pushes against us america will push back and that will cost him in the polls and hopefully a 2nd term.

Exactly. The US Government will be telling people how to construct nooses and how to slit their wrists to end their lives earlier, along with more prosaic means like how to reprogram their PCA devices to deliver a fatal overdose. This is understandable; after all, many of these people know that Obama is an illegal alien, that Bush pre-wired the Twin Towers with explosives, and that the Kennedy assasination was an inside job. Quote This reply is a perfect example of how out of touch alot of people are with what is happening to the people of the US. If you don't like this country, leave. I want to pick my insurance co. I want to decide how my medical situations are handled. Not told by the government based on my productivity as they see it. Our system is not broken, it does have some problems but is not broken. lets first understand something, we don't have 47 million americans without health insurance. After you subtract Illegal aliens and those that make over $75000 a year and choose not to pay for insurance that leaves less than 20 million americans withouth health insurance. And EVERY ONE of those people have great medical care at any emergency room. our system works great for over 90% of our population as it is and just needs a couple fixes. Name one government program that works that good. Fixes could include selling policies across state lines to promote compitition. eliminate stupid lawsuites that financially strap insurance companies like you cannot sue if you caused the situation that caused the injury or if you were breaking the law while the injury happened. these 2 items could greatly reduce the cost of insurance and the we could add a couple more fixes after we see what these do. completely changing the entire system is stupid and needless. You don't get a new house because the furnace broke you fix the furnace. Same with health care, lets fix a couple things and see what happens and keep government out of an additional 1/7 of our lives. -
Isn't it funny that when the lefties get stumped they check spelling.

So, the people that can afford the new car... Most likely already have it. The people that can't afford a new car are not likely to get rid of one they have so they can now have a car payment. And those that are poor would be ill advised to go deeper in debt....Even if they can get a loan right now. leave it to the government to miss the boat again. aim a program at the poor to help increase their debt. Isn't that how the subprime mortgage problem started? -
can doctors be forced to accept government insurance?
marks2065 replied to TrophyHusband's topic in Speakers Corner
OK, I did that. Now tell us which division and title FORCES medics to accept govt. insurance. You read ALL the pages of the bill? He'd be the only one in the country to have done so. Quotenope somebody did and this is even more scary. especially if you are older. http://fredthompsonshow.com/premiumstream?dispid=320&headerDest=L3BnL2pzcC9tZWRpYS9mbGFzaHdlbGNvbWUuanNwP3BpZD03MzUxJnBsYXlsaXN0PXRydWUmY2hhcnR0eXBlPWNoYXJ0JmNoYXJ0SUQ9MzIwJnBsYXlsaXN0U2l6ZT01 please listen to the whole interview and it will answer the question that the bill will force all doctors to take Obama's insurance program by eliminating private insurance programs. -

You both should research the amount of CO2 produced in making a ton of steel from scrap compared with the amount produced in making a ton of steel from iron ore before writing comments like that. On balance, we are FAR better off making steel from recycled scrap. -
