  1. By effectively capping earnings at £50kpa you stifle entrepreneurial spirit. Why take on extra risks and responsibilities when your earnings will never reflect the extra work? You've just created a nation where mediocre is the pinnacle of the career ladder. So instead, how about the people stop increasing their needs? Lets not have breast enhancement on the NHS. No IVF treatment on the NHS. No right to council housing for life. Stop handouts to illegal immigrants. etc etc. All I'm trying to do is spread the wealth around. Its hardly fair that these very successful individuals who have taken every oppertunity to improve their lives financially have a better standard of living then any one else. Everyone should have a equal share so to speak.
  2. Got any numbers for presidential trips from Jan of 2001 to Jan of 2009?
  3. Ask that question in England or Australia. First it was the "scary" guns, then it was the less scary, then it was all the guns. Interesting. If that is the case in England and Australia, I would say it is very relevant and might go a very long way to changing the way I view the situation. How about THIS or THIS? The fact that "slippery slope" is a logical fallacy in most cases doesn't mean it isn't true with regard to gun control. And Mayor Ray Nagin had the cops confiscate ALL the guns in the wake of hurricane Katrina. Even though courts have ruled it was illegal, most people haven't gotten them back. And many that have found that the guns are a single chunk of rust due to poor storage
  4. Without question. If you don't possess the common sense to understand the crowd your speaking to - at huge detriment to your reputation and career, you're an idiot. A proud graduate of the Steve Stiffler school of public speaking, but still an idiot. What an incredibly broad yet completely irrelevant statement.

  6. Would "confiscate the weapons hidden by the Colonists" be the right answer? Just another group of gun grabbers
  7. Tried to use your healthcare recently??? Trust me.. your "insurance" company can and does make paymment decisions.. and a hell of a lot of them have eliminated paying the claims that your doctor sends them
  8. only the stupid people would see this as something good. he wouldn't need to cut 100 million if he didn't give them 3.6 trillion to start with. I can save more than that just by changing the type of metal the penny is made out of.
  9. What makes you think Obama's agenda isn't his idea of how to ensure a prosperous future for our country? You and he may disagree on how to achieve that future, but I suspect both would like to see it come to pass. Blues, Dave
  10. I do see it as a conservative thing... MOST of the conservatives are vociferous in their support of any repubican candidate that tells them how horrible any kind of government intrusion into health care will be..... regardless of the facts. The insurance compaies.. and pharmacutical companies have paid those "conservative" politicians for their votes in deregulation....oh thats right.. its CAMPAIGN contributions.. not bribery... to maintain the status quo. They are bought and paid for. Politicians and government employees don't have to wade thru this crap... their coverage is golden.... gee I wonder why that could be???? The current system is not working for most of the people. Trouble is.. most of them will not see the problems until they have to use their "medical coverage". When they find out they are not covered its a little too late.... and that my dear is a rip off.. legal or otherwise and I for one believe if something is broke.. it needs to be fixed. Quotethis couldn't be a problem caused by something other than the right? Had nothing to do with lawers and stupid lawsuites causing all the extra wording tying the entire system into so much red tape that both sides have no clue what is going on. Or maybe some people and doctors ripping off the insurance companies causing them to cover their buts from fraudulant claims? And as far as bribery goes, I guess the dem's are not partaking of that at all. (Dodd, Clinton, Obama, Frank) None of them got money from the failing companies like aig, fannie and freddie.
  11. I guess it is only bad to do when you are trying to influence gulible people so they vote for you. After winning the election it becomes good because it is Obama that is doing the wire tapping and excessive spending to a degree many times more than what was done under bush. Although I agree with the wire tapping and spying to a degree, I question who Obama is using it on. I felt under Bush it was mainly for defence, but under Obama I feel it is being used to look into our private lives to control his agenda. I don't trust the government to do what is good for us nor do I trust Obama to do what is good for the country. I feel Obama's Agenda is more inportant to him than the prosperous future of our country.
  12. I was under the impression that Amtrak was wholly owned by the Federal Government. Doesn't appear that would be the case for GM. Owning equity in and wholly owning a company are different things. Not even sure if the government would be the controlling share holder in GM.
