this shit is getting deep. fannie freddie acorn raines Obama Dodd franks fraud and money diversions. is only the right seeing this? is the left that blind?is the left that desperate that the only way they can get their piont a cross is by deception?

Freeze spending, while adding a 5000/person tax credit (how much will that cost?), and other tax cuts. i'm all for lower taxes and less gov spending. i am very much for people paying their own way through life and not getting money redistribution from the government. this is the USA not the USSR (united states socialist republic) more tax credits = less money to the gov = more for us. if you want more money, earn it. switch jobs, get a smaller/ cheaper car, get a second job. whatever you want to do is fine by me unless i have to pay it for you.

yucca mountain was actually had its beginnings in 1976. in 40 years they have planned tested and dug only the main chaimber, the actual storage chamber as of 2005 or 2006 haddn't been started yet. the earliest it could be ready was said to be 2010 but i doubt that is realistic.

a good reporter interviews all sides and lets the people make their own choises. i watch all the news programs and find that only fox has both sides represented. msnbc is only for obama and cnn is a little to the left. but in order to get all opinions you have to watch all of them.

i have done my own reading in the different articles that are available and when the information becomes available from the univ of ill i will read that also. you honestly don't think Ayers helped Obama get started because they had hugh diferences in opinions do you? That would be like Daley starting a republicans career to the white house, isn't going to happen. you don't think Ayers was "just a nieghbor" so they had Obama over for dinner? I've been to community dinners at houses of neighbors' whom I've never previously met. But then I live in a neighborly community, just like Obama does. Nice of the GOP to waste so much time on this topic, though, instead of on the issues that the electorate actually cares about - like how Bush's 8 years are ending with the economy in a shambles, OBL still at large, and the US engaged in 2 wars. And Mark, I believe you have hung out with me a lot over the past 2 years. Are you hiding your liberalism? all everyone is saying is that they want to know what kind of person Obama is and how he will run things. people that you spend time with usually have similar interests and convictions. like i hang out with skydivers so skydiving is the common link. Obama has alot of radical friends so does that mean radical is the common link? This is important to the fact that if he does get elected will this radical area get projected on the public? so Obama's relationships are important and need to be discussed. maybe if he had voted yes or no instead of present and done things like wright bill and pass them other than wright letters and make phone calls that only the other person can confirm, we would know what Obama is about. but Obama continues to be all talk and no substance and that leaves the people with active brains to wonder and want asnwers to the questions in their minds. not to much to ask of someone running for president.

the last refinance bill put out by the gov had a principle repayment clause in it. when the house was sold they had to repay some back to the lender/gov or were ever the loan came from.
-
Obama tells us he will raise taxes and his health care will cost a trillion dollars, and McCain at least wants to freeze spending. also the failing mortgages would probably have a repaiment when sold like the earlier refinance issue.
-
so Obama came up through a corrupt political seen, conspired/work with known corrupt people, and won't talk about his association with these people. and we should think what? we should vote for him why?
-
With McCain we have a slim chance of getting out of this, but with Obama we are deffinatly going into aa depression.
-
To finish running us into the ground, so we can be in a full-on depressiona nd then get 6 or 8 terms of Dems...... stupid it has to work that way..... Obama is going to run us into the depression. haven't you learned anything from history? look back to the depression in 29 and see what the government did to help us into htat one and then compare it to Obama's plan.

Quote>Obama saying he lives in the nieghborhood isn't filling us in on the truth . . . Right - he said far more than that. One of his statements: "I'm sure you've got people who you serve on a board with or have dinner with who, you know, you would never expect to somehow have that seen as an endorsement of their views. Now, you know, Mr. Ayers is a 60-plus-year-old individual who lives in my neighborhood, who did something that I deplore 40 years ago when I was 6 or 7 years old. By the time I met him, he was a professor of education at the University of Illinois. We served on a board together that had Republicans, bankers, lawyers, focused on education. He worked for Mayor Daley, the same Mayor Daley, by the way, who, when he was a state's attorney, prosecuted Mr. Ayers' wife for those activities in the '60s. So the point is that to somehow suggest that in any way I endorse his deplorable acts 40 years ago because I serve on a board with him is absurd." Quote yep bill, you are correct, but the other people on the board didn't give out the money under Ayers' direction. other people on the board didn't involve themselves with acorn by defending and teaching them.

QuoteI liked the "saving $2500 per year per family" with electronic health records. Some of my current doctors don't have ANYthing electronic. So who pays for the systems, record entry and verification, cost of securing to be HIPPA compliant, and maintenance and upkeep of these systems? -------------------------------------------------------- well that would be the same people that are paying for Obama's health care plan, the business. so not only do we have to pay for everyone's health care that makes less than $50,000 along with our own health care, we need to update our computers and hire someone to operate them. i guess figuring in the total cost would not influance people to vote for him.

yuka mountain will be at least 40 years from design to actual storage

Obama saying he lives in the nieghborhood isn't filling us in on the truth, it is avoiding the possible fallout from the truth. he was in with Ayers for alot more than a nieghborhood block party.
-
he was and has acknowledged that he was wrong. to bad Obama doesn't have the integrity to admit what his involment was/is and tell us why he was right or wrong.

i am sure that in 3-5 years you could be online with nuclear, but that is after you remove the roadblocks. also China's government does what it wants irregardless of the peoples wishes. china doesn't have to listen to people saying what they do or do not want in courts.
-
So your position is conjecture rather than real supporting evidence, ok. I agree that we need to start now, but your 10-year constraint was inserted simply to impeach Obama's idea that we could be there in 10 years. Who cares if it's 12 or 15 years, I think he wants to quit spending 10B/mont in Iraq and start using that to support our infrastructure. The Iraq War was for revenge; mission accomplished, let's get out and fix ourselves. i like your optimism, but alot of people that think like you don't understand how real life works. the money and legal battles to build 1 nuclear or hydro plant is stagering. most companies don't want to touch either because it could bankrupt them. when a company starts to get money to build these plants they are on a timetable to start producing because the loans have to be paid back. 1 good legal battle with a town or group that doesn't want this in their back yard can delay building long enough to put actual power production past the loan deadline. this will cause an average comany to go bankrupt. until there is a way to avoid this roadblock most companies will just keep on doing what they do now. it isn't that companies don't want to go in these directions, it is they can't afford to go that way and have the possibility that they could be held up long enough to cause loan defalts.

QuoteDid it change anyone’s mind?? I went into watching the debate not overly thrilled with either candidate (although leaning towards McCain) and came out actually feeling a little better about both and most likely leaning even more towards McCain. I didn’t see a clear winner, just one that I tended to agree with more than the other. ----------------------------------------------------------- the more Obama opens his mouth the less i like him or his policy. McCain is definately not the best we have but he is for less gov control and spending, on the other side i see Obama as someone that thinks busisness will just take the tax increases and still employ people. on this subject Obama is dead wrong, raising taxes to a business will just reduce jobs, increase prices, or make them go somewhere cheaper. lets face it, it is cheaper in mexico or india, and making it more expensive to do business here in the US will just cost us in the long run.

if we cut imports from half those contries (the ones that vote against us in the UN) we would keep 350 billion $ here and weaken those countries that don't like us. the money kept here would help our economy and help fund the switch to alt energy. in 10-20 years we would have energy independence with less terrorism
-
Also nuclear plants are very expensive. the cost i heard is about 10 billion each. with the lawsuites and protesters the $ amount and delays can bankrupt a company. the idea i heard the other day was for the government to build the plant then privatise it, that way a company would not have the issues that could bankrupt them. alot of the same people that protest oil drilling are the same that protest nuclear. they want everything but will not sacrifice for what is needed. every power source is protested and held up in courts, that is why we are in the position we have now. hydri power floods land above the damn and changes the ecology of the area. nuclear has disposal and possible dissaster implications. oil and natural gass have drilling and carbon emmission issues. enviromentalist need to decide what they want, a broken economy with foriegn dependance or sacrifice a little property for disposal and aplication of the energy we need to keep moving.
-
I think it's doable. We need to downsize our vehicles like the Euros and advance battery technology. We could have battery stations instead of gas stations where we swap out batteries that are charged. We will have to create battery disposal processes so as not to pollute, but I think 10 years is real doable. first we need to drill here, make money and jobs, and use that to switch to alternatives. 700 billion going over seas would be a great start to pay for the switch. people don't want to see that we are arming foriegn militaries with the oil money. we are going bankrupt on foriegn oil. we need to drill know and convert along the way. this crap about we only have 3% of the oil in the world is misleading, we may only have 3% of the oil but we do have a large % of natural gas, and these 2 are enough to get us through the swicth to alt energy.

Nice comment. Bravo. Really takes into account the whole "innocent before proven guilty" thing. this has been going on with acorn for years and there has been arrests and convictions with this group. Obama has helped them in the past with these types of problems. You are correct in inocent until proven guilty, but to many of this group is already guilty and that makes them guilty by association. you don't have to be part of the crime to punished for the crime, only part of the group.

i feel that the global economy is partially to blame. we have jobs and companies going to were the cheap labor, taxes, and land is. we as americans have let the global economy in and are loosing the battle to retain big producing companies just because we are to high priced. this reason is why Obama's plan is bad for us, if taxes get raised to larger companies they will just go overseas to save costs. this will cause the tax burden of his policies to shift to the next lower income branch of our economy. also we need to drill for more oil here. this will lower our dependancy and keep billions of $ here to invest in us. yes we need more alternatives to oil but the technology is still being developed and will be some time before it replaces oil. also the oil in the US can give companies here the money to help develope new energy technologies. oil isn't going to last forever and the oil companies know that, so thier only choice to not go out of business is to invest themselves in alternate sorces of energy and the technology to make that possible.
