Thank you for the clarification and please don't think I meant any insult. I have great respect for the Catholic church. I do not, however, recognize that any religious group has a lock on the term or concept of marriage. Obviously, it can be defined different ways. To pretend that someone else cannot call themselves 'married' because they do not meet your definition is as silly as saying they are not Christian because they don't meet your definition. Again, no intent to denegrate Christianity, Catholicism, or any other religion. They were just illustrations. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Ah well... Years ago, my son and I finished playing a video game at a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party. He went to play a different game. I turned to see my (then) wife talking to another woman while watching our daughter and other children play skeeball. I siddled up to my wife from behind, caressed her ass, and began nuzzling her ear. She turned to look at me. I froze. I stood there an uncomfortable amount of time holding this woman's ass while my brain refused to register what was wrong. I apologized and explained profusely while waiting for the slap that never came. She laughed. I immediately went and told my wife. She immediately went to see if the woman was attractive enough that I had not committed an insult. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Oh oh.. you just turned on the reptile... he will be along shortly. Turtlespeed sucks toes???? Nasty!!! Clearly, you've never been on the receiving end... I'm having a bit of an issue here. I noticed you had an early response that someone isn't much of a Christian if they.... Clearly you meant they don't meet YOUR definition of Christian. But if they claim to be Christian, whose definition prevails? Catholics have burned people for being Protestant with the church's blessing. Protestants have burned people for being witches with the church's blessing. Who defines what is 'Christian'? Feel free to define the term for yourself, but do you have the authority to define Christianity for everyone else? Here, you claim to define marriage as specifically belonging to God. I would be fine with that argument, except that several Protestant denominations recognize gay marriage, perform ceremonies for gay couples, ordain gay ministers, etc. So, who defines when God blesses the union and it becomes 'marriage'. I'm starting to think it is only you and those who agree with you. You do realize that you are not married in the eyes of the Catholic church unless you are a card carrying Catholic and married by the Catholic church to another card carrying Catholic, right? By that definition, very few of us can claim to be married. And the Catholic church has a claim to the term Christian that pre-dates existing denominations by centuries. So, where do we go from here? Can you only claim to be married under Catholic rules, if any Christian denomination calls you married, if any religious organization calls you married, if Thunderbow says so, or if God issues a certificate? I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I'm so very tired of American politics. Tell me what you have to offer. Don't just bash the other person / party. It just makes me think your platform is, "I'm the best pile of shit you have to choose from". I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. http://youtu.be/ve5Kuwp43Do Could be old. I don't know. It was posted on my hangglider forum. Someone made a comment I found amusing. Good for you! Self-development is always good. In my case, I find it hard to work, exercise, etc. at home. I'm distracted by so many other things. I found it was helpful to set up an area where I was psychologically somewhere else. I have a computer armoire that contains my 'study'. When it is open, I am taking a course, working on business, etc. When it is closed, I have left the office. Something similar might help you. Good luck! I'm starting to worry about you. Have you noticed how many of your posts lately indicate you are conducting searches for sex related topics? Then, you post additional thoughts that indicate you are spending time deeply contemplating the topic. According to the philosopher Joel, "You Catholic girls start much too late." I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I can't say I'm hugely offended, but I think I can answer the question. It's an issue of what is appropriate. People are losing their possessions. Their pictures, the kids' school projects, the quilt made by their deceased grandmother, things of more than financial value. They were scared for the lives of those they love only moments ago. That someone is interested in making it into entertainment via a phone camera is...inappropriate. That they got out more complex equipment and are attempting to launch even more invasive means of documenting someone else's emotional loss is insulting. The chances that the guy was documenting it so the family would have something to remember it by are pretty low. He was fulfilling a personal desire with their loss. It's opportunistic, self-serving, and not in keeping with the level of human empathy that many of us would like to strive for. Call it...insensitive. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Sorry about your day. :( Sending you a totally platonic, ass out, just touch at the shoulders, avoid the breasts, keep it brief, slight pat on the back, don't smell the hair, don't kiss the cheek, but reassuring hug. Just a little light-heartedness. The trauma is brief. The effects are long. In the end, it can all be replaced. The people and the memories go on. I hope you awake feeling better. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

But were you 'afraid' to meet him, or was he on your bucket list? Those appear to be the relevant questions according to other threads. Glad the internet facilitated a friendship. Ummm... With what? If he's a climatolgist then his primary job is doing science, not appearing on CNN. He should lie? I'm just looking at it from a marketing approach. If you want to sell something, sell it. In the modern world, it's not the truth of the matter, it's how it is presented. I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying that the concept would have fewer detractors if it was presented better. Meet people where they are. Speak their language. It helps get the message across. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I meant passing laws to forbid people being happy seemed silly. Again, it was a pun. As to being gay... My son is gay. I never really questioned why. I think of it as a simple preference. It could be influenced by genetics, conditions in the womb, socialization, choices...I don't know. I never worried about it too much. In some ways, it makes sense. Guys understand each other pretty easily. Compared to the war between the sexes, it almost makes sense to choose someone of the same gender. Plenty of guys are emotionally closer to their male friends than to the women they have sex with. I have certain preferences in a sexual partner. I don't know why. Nature or nurture? I couldn't say. Do I desire women because my genetics dictate it or because I was raised that way? I will never know. It's just the way I am and I'm fine with it. So, it would be preposterous for me to say why someone else has the preferences they have. Some guys like a big girl. Some guys like a skinny girl. Some like blondes. Large breasts. Small breasts. Some like other guys. Some like whoever is available. How did that guy develop that preference? If I can't answer that question for myself, how can I begin to answer it for someone else? I use the masculine in this discussion because I fully understand Lesbians. I'm always delightfully surprised that women want to have a male as a sexual partner. I've seen men in the locker room. Ugg! In the end, it is none of my business. They aren't hurting anyone else. If you think they are violating God's law, then let God handle it. If He needs your help...well...in the words of the philosopher Hulk, "Puny god." I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

It was just a joke. Russia is known for people who don't smile. It's a stereotype, but good fodder for a joke. Yemen has been at war forever. Relax. I know it's SC, but not everyone is trying to start an argument. Kind of to Ron.... The concern with homosexuality is the bibilical prohibition in the OT and some problems Paul had with it, right? What about people are married a second time? According to Paul, they are living in an adulterous relationship. What then? Then, there's the whole issue of which parts of the OT you want to adhere to and which you throw out. Personally, I love a good ham and cheese sandwich. And you're ok with polygamy, right? Because it was fine in the OT and not mentioned in the NT. Must still be good. I'm not trying to attack you. I just recognize that every religious canon has its issues when one tries to apply the dictates therein. At some point, what part of the Holy Bible you appply requires a...wait for it....choice. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Being 'Christian' is similar to many other things...it means what you want it to mean. I may always remember the true/false statement on a psychological test I took once (MMPI). It said, "I believe in God." T/F I asked the lady administering the test what help that was. Some people believe in God and they are incredible people. Some people believe in God and they are terrorists. Some believe in God and it has no apparent effect on their lives. Being Christian, Muslim, etc seems to be about like that. It can mean everything or nothing. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I'm not sure why anyone in Russia or Yemen would be gay. Depressing places if you ask me. But some people can be happy no matter the circumstances. Seems silly to have laws about it, though. Is this a new trend I am seeing? Conservatives are beating up on Hillary because they fear she will be a viable presidential candidate. Liberals are beating up on conservatives who look like they might become presidential candidates. I'm undecided on whether it is good or bad. I don't like all the hate mongering, but it could help winnow out the chaff before all the lies begin...or have they already? This is an awesome argument for the legalization of weed
davjohns replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
I think an awesome argument for legalization of weed is: It's less harmful than alcohol, we can tax it, and we can cut the DEA's budget as well as kick some prisoners out on the street. Legalize weed and you could argue for a cut in income tax. Everyone's happy and yet they still have something to moan about. There. Next problem? Personally, I think we only have one planet and should take care of it. Just me. I don't know if 'global warming' is what it is purported to be or not. I just think it's been presented very badly. I saw a guy on CNN last week. The banner said he was a climatologist. His hair was sticking out like the popular pic of Einstein. He didn't look like someone you would trust on such matters. I would have recommended: 1. Get a haircut and look like a respected scientist. It helps. It just does. 2. Call yourself a meteorologist. We know what that is. Climatologist is something that just hit the scene and sounds too much like Scientologist...and we know how those guys come off. 3. Start out by saying, "Global Warming is a horrible name. It's not helpful. Call it something like 'climate change'." You get loads of credibility just admitting that little bit of nothing. .02 I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. "Point Break" - New, and improved with Gerard Butler!

Gary Busey should reprise the role, but less calmly. I love that crazy bastard. The insane ones are always the best! Am I the only one who thinks he was never acting? Obamacare sure to sign its own death certificate

Nice quote. To the OP, I note that government programs are tied to the pockets of millions of taxpayers. It's like lifesupport. I am not aware of many government programs that failed due to impracticality, impossibility, redundancy, or a host of other things that would have killed a private sector undertaking.
