Its not fair i can't come!!!!!!!!!!!!! booohooo!!! England sucks! Its cold and i can't jump!!! Big hello to all the guys and gals at z-hills though, i'm really gonna miss not being there this year. Loads of love Lucy(lucifer) and Ryan (dredlocked guitar playing hippy) ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs! -

Hey Marco, personally i'd stay in the US but then that s only coz the weathers better everywhere else! I have only jumped at Dunkeswell and Readlands, of which Readlands has now closed but is opening up again under a different name about 15 miles from the old location in swindon. Devons nice to jump at but the Dz only has 2 206's so its kinda limited but the people are nice. I'm sure if you ask people in the places to go forum you'd get a better idea of where to go. --------- ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

My closest dz is Dunkeswell, nr Honiton. but i jump abroad mainly. I kinda spend most of my summers packing and my winters jumping somwhere hot ------ ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

Ok for those of you who have used these cameras and they work fantastic, but from having seen footage from them and spoken to some camera guys who used them they are not eh best cameras for the job. There are plenty of other models with similar specs that work better. That is only my and some other peoples opinions, but isn't that what this forum is for? to get peoples opinions! At the end of the day you can take or leave the information given! ------- ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

Don't be silly, it's not for me! Its a surprise for my boyfriend! I would like to do camera one day so i take a lot of interest in the discipline and i do most of his editing. Although i haven't many jumps i have been working at DZ's for years and spent a bit of time in the the tunnel. Unfortunatly i am a student so i am biding my time till i can afford to jump my ass off continually! ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

hello back to all of you! Hopefully i will get to meet some of you this summer when the season gets underway. I do live miles away from most dz's though which is a pain! Worked at Redlands, Swindon last year, currently at Dunkeswell, Devon. Do most jumps abroad though! ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

I must admit i haven't talked to any jumpers about cameras, just the guys in the shop! I have heard of the rebel though, there doesn't seem to be much good info available in the UK about good still cameras. So i geuss you would recommend that camera? Thanks for your input, its nice to talk to people who know what they are talking about, with regards to skydiving camera equipment. A lot of stuff just isn't over here yet! ---- ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

i meant to ask what type of cameras u use? i was looking at digital stills but they seem a lot of money for a slower shutter speed, are there good ones out there for jumping with that can deliver enough shots per jump? -------
-
What sort of setup are u using for stills and video, if you don't mind me asking. ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

I was just wondering how my Brits there are around this forum, i don't know many jumpers from this country so please come and say hi! If your not British please still say hi, but don't expect to see me jumping at your DZ any time soon! (unless your from Sweden, then i will see you in a few months!) ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

Hey Well done on your first jump! I know how you feel, i'm still trying to sell things! If your ever headed south you should come and jump in Devon, its small but perfectly formed! Blue skies and Happy landings

I hope no one took offence to my post i just thought people might like to know what could happen. I'm really glad no one else has had the misfortune we did. The camera was a minolta 404si, so quite light with a 20mm fixed lense, the stroboframe was fitted by a pro in the USA so i don't think that was the prob, though having never recoverd the camera i couldn't tell you much else, though it was the frame that gave out out ant not the screw into the camera. And as some one said, none of this stuff was made for skydiving so its a gamble using any setup! Shit happens ai! --- ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

sorry but i beg to differ, there has been articles in the mag about this camera, it just cannot handle skydiving. I have had talks with about three profesional camera flyers who have all tried and tested it to no avail. ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

don't buy a sony tvr 950! they can't handle free fall footage, somthing in the chip won't stablize the image. We did try one out and were told the same by other people who used them! ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

Thought i should just let anyone who uses a strobo frame know that they don't hold up very well on hard openings. My Boyfriend had a total and dumped out his reserve at terminal and waved good bye to his stills camera and rather expensive lens! In the scheme of things i'd rather it was the camera than him but i'm sure you would all agree its something you wouldn't want a repeat of.Especially when it is so hard to insure camera equipment for jumping. And in case anyone was wondering why i am writing this and not my boyfriend, it's because he can't even turn a computer on without help and i have to much free time. ___________________________________ ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!

Well i was in Las VEgas last easter and Z-hills this x-mas and new year just gone. Z-hills is great and the people were really nice. Vegas was good to but a bit dusty and hot! nice people though and fun night life! I also jumped in Australia, at ramblers and brisbane skydiving centre. Brisbane was very good and the people were very welcoming. Ramblers was big and had loads of people but got quiet mid week. ---------------------- PM#290 There are some people in this world which are just like slinky's, Totally useless but you just can't help but smile when you see one bouncing down the stairs!
