MEMORIES, FUNNY STORIES, PICS: Mariann Kramer
airgord replied to arlo's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
US Nationals, Chicago, 2002. My teamates and I were competing in 10 way and ended up in the aircraft with a team of folks I did not know. They seemed friendly enough though, we boarded and climbed for altittude but held up at about 5k and we were told that there was some kind of hold, so we circled for awhile. After about 15 minutes the natives started getting restless, then this purple headed girl jumps up and goes up to the cockpit, sits in the co-pilot seat and proceeds to entertain us all with her versions of Eminem rap on the PA system to big applause at the end. February 2003 Eloy, AZ. I think this is the camp after, that Fraschc decribed in her post. The Rave cameraflyer had to leave and I was asked to shoot for the day for them, and on the first jump of the day I F'd up and ended up making big dents in the landing area, as I was laying there waiting for the ambulance to come, packer Ray and Mariann, some German guy and Pat Patton were helping to get my rig off of me and a very overbearing DZ staffer came out and proceeded to try to kick Mariann off the landing area, notice I said "try". Mariann proceeded to tell this a**h**e that she had emergency medical experience (kind of like that), he spun around and left. Even in a lot of pain, all I could do was laugh. Thanks for everything Mariann, see ya later. -

Got to the Rigging Innovations website, or better yet send an email, we will all be back from vacation on monday the 10th. I only inspect them and never pack them, however I have seen the Saber2 190 packed up in the Square 2 rental V4, it's big but fits okay, but, don't take my word as gospel, ask Sandy.

Proof, that Chris Hollis, even though he was not having fun without Tarnya, carried on like a good soldier and flew his slot.

There is nothing wrong with my atitude, just being frank and honest. I used to work with people that had similar questions to yours, they all, almost to the last man, wanted assurances that everything was going to go okay, that nothing was going to go wrong, and in today's litigous society you could be held liable for making that "promise". I could not tell my student that everything was always going to be okay and I find it unconsionable that anyone would do such a thing, there is no certainty in life except the beginning and the end. I hope you make your skydive, I hope you have more fun than anyone ever, if you decide not to go I hope that my "attitude" did not influence you and that YOU chose not to go based on the the information you have disseminated from this and other sources.

If you need someone else to explain the dangers of this sport to you.......reconsider your desire to do anything extreme.

There are better deals out there, like taperesources.com's dv60prl Sony's for 3.99 ea and quite often at 3.49 ea, really good quality tapes and the only tapes you should be using in a Sony camcorder. The deal you describe is better than buying them over the counter, so to speak.

Scotty you must have a strong tongue............

How does the recirculating Colorado tunnel stack up to the rest?
airgord replied to oosskis's topic in Wind Tunnels
Oh yeah, the black eye, I told everybody it was a really tough "pass the rock" session and you had to wonder what the cabin crew was thinking on your way back to CO, especially when Brian was wearing his wife beater. (I'm cracking me up) -

How Max met Fargo the dog; Summer 2001, I had brought my motorhome back to the dz after having worked on it most of the week and decided to bring my Golden Retriever, Fargo along for the ride, he had only been to the dz once before when he was a puppy and has always been interested in watching overflying aircraft. We had just backed the motorhome into the camping spot inside the open "T" hangars that the dzo let us use for trailer camping and they were at the north end of the landing area, a great place to sit out withyour pals and have a beer, *after* the last load had taken off of course. A bunch of us were sitting out in front of our friends BJ and Cheryl's tent trailer when the last load landed, so Fargo was sitting next to my camp chair when half of the load landed long and ended up near us, Fargo was totally enthralled by all of this but stayed near me, then Max came and landed about 25 ft away, Fargo must have thought Max was a Martian by the way he was acting, hair on his neck standinf straight up, neck outstretched and his body was kind of low, like he was trying to stay as far away as he could get without running away, Max was setting his brakes and turned to see the dog about 10 ft away obviously freaked out by a dude coming out of the sky and understand, this is the most most sociable dog I have ever seen and this kind of behaviour is something I had not seen from him. Max sort of crouches down and holds his hand out for the dog to sniff and be buddies, Fargo freaks and starts barking at Max, making this the third time in two years that I have heard him ever bark, Max is trying to be friends, Fargo is freaking out because some kind of monster with a funny looking head (Z1 helmet) had just came out of the sky and made people sounds like he wanted to be friends, Fargo wanted nothing to do with this and ran back to me and jumped in my lap (he was no puppy then), I was laughing so hard that I couldn't defend myself from the dog and he and I crashed, spilling my freshly opened Mirrior Pond, bad dog. Max took his helmet off and he and Fargo were best pals and I had to go to the store and buy more Mirror Pond. Get well soon Max.................Gordo

It is a personal choice, I have always used booties, I can back fly with booties and they help *me* get back faster if I leave slightly early and I can track alot faster with booties than I can without. I'm over 200# and booties help me stay above scrawny 4 way teams without having to go to huge wings that can flap at speed causing some vibration on my videos and I still have alot of range. The previous posters make it sound like no booties is an absolute must, I say make it your personal choice, you may prefer no booties, cool, you may want them, cool too. Try some different suits and buy the one you prefer best, just make sure it will be compatible with what *you* want to do. Oh yeah, buy Bev.
