  1. Thanks DSE. I did not think there was a new one coming out that soon, but I figured I'd ask. For anyone else looking to purchase a a CX7, B&H Photo is a good place to check out. ($849 plus S&H) and it comes with a Sony 4GB memory stick.
  2. I'm looking at buying my first camera for camera flying. I want to purchase the Sony CX7. I read thru the thread about the cx7 being/ not being discontinued. I know it, or some version of it, will be around for a while. But the salesman I spoke to today said a new version will be released soon. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? I don't care so much about having the newest version. I just don't want to buy a CX7 this week and have it go on sale because a new one is released two weeks from now. Thanks for any information anyone can provide!
  3. I'm sorry to hear that, but thanks for the info! Is there any way to convert NTSC to PAL via computer?
  4. Can anyone tell me if the new cameras, like the Sony HDR-CX7 can switch formats between PAL and NTSC. I'm going to start my video career in Germany, but I will be moving back to the US in about a year and a half. I'd like to avoid buying a camera to turn around and sell it a year later if possible.
  5. So I can expect some work to attach the camera. Just what I love
  6. Spot, thanks for the advice. Currently I have an Acer laptop at home, but I am looking at getting a new computer and will keep in mind to look for a computer with quad core, no matter which Sony I decide on. Is there any difficulties or special requirements to attach the HRD cameras to a helmut? I'm looking at the Cookies MVX w/ cutaway. Thanks again. Michael
  7. What video camera is recommended? I am looking at the Sony HDR-CX7, or going with something like a PC109. Is the quality of recording of the HD worth the extra cost? I live in Germany and with current exchange rates and a wife who also skydives; jumping is getting too expensive to pay out of pocket. Ten skydives equals about $400!!! Thanks for any advice.....
