  1. Holy shit... I'm now a "monkey" Fuck me.. i'm a married man too... I knew this monkey shit was bad news! don't go there! Chris
  2. I have to respond even before i read this thread to the bottom... if you didn't have it ...you would have no need for it... new wife...eh? perhaps some need it... Chris
  3. Order sooner than later... This industry had a major slowdown... the economy rolled back hard! our 4 weeks are now 5-6 weeks... next week may be 8-10 weeks... Order everything sooner than later... our industry is blossoming again! Chris Precision
  4. Thanks for correcting that... I will be at Precision for many years to come thank you.. (Hi Sam, get out to jump) Chris
  5. I'll be in tomorrow evening also!..... Sounds like we's gonna have a real birdy good time! Should make the bent prop by about 11:00pm... Chris
  6. yes... but i still want to hear anything that 'baby" jumper thinks... as far as advice, everyone should qualify/quantify everything heard. to tell younger jumpers not to advise, eliminates anything they have learned. And they are learning at a much faster pace than you and me.
  7. but that same 50 jump wonder might tell me about a better way to fly my canopy... my ears are open... and i know how to filter "noise". the best ideas usually come from the people who are the most excited. I was most excited after jump number one... Chris
  8. Quite often we get great information or a new perspective from someone who may be... how do you say?.... new to the sport.... always offer new ideas. Chris ...but don't be afraid to challenge the posts...
  9. I have the manual... pm or email me and I'll send it to you... only one a.d. on the 5 cell that I know of.... Chris
  10. It holds a 107 main... and you're asking if a 119 will fit... NO... That canopy is measured well larger than a 107.... (and they use the "different" measuring system.)

    Need a name

Julio and Christie! My vote is Pedro also... (like "Peter", like "weiner" dog...) Cute little one, does this mean you're waiting on the kids still... You two need kids also... Get to work Julio!) Cute little pup! Chris
  12. but in time... even you will understand why we want to make them better....
  13. me... no regrets... though i always wish I had more money. Remember, we skydivers are "type a" people... if we were rich, we'd want more. But have ya ever been anywhere else where you saw more people smiling? Chris
  14. If the trip books completely, the organizer has $2,108,600 to work with... Read the terms and conditions, could be delayed cancelled, etc... He can continue to delay the departure indefinitely and offer no refund, however if you cancel, no refund after Dec. 2004, (trip is not scheduled to depart til 2005.) It's all in the fine print... But I just signed up and used the Corporate AmEx. I wonder if George will wanna go too? He likes fun trips like this! Chris
  15. That was an Aerodyne canopy from a few years back (PISA was contracted to build Bill Hazelett's designs but they were sold through Aerodyne.) Never was very familiar with that canopy, can't give you much description... Chris
  16. but remember everyone, my suit is the best, it makes me happier than anyone's does. Chris

    Lamb Stew

Scott is absolutely right... Your recipe sounds fine, but you need to finish the meal with a proper beverage (and dessert). I think that ... with lamb, a lighter red will do, in fact I think you can get away with a hearty white wine if preferred! Just ensure you have plentiful quantity for all guest! Sounds like quite the meal! Chris After every meal, something flaming is the big hit... Bananas Foster... (extinguish the flames quickly to perserve the alcohol!)
  18. Troy, Let me give some inside info that may help you and everyone understand the Precision Service Bulletin issued regarding the earlier Dash-M reserves. We issued SB1221 after we had a failure of a Dash-M reserve that was within the placarded weight (and possibly also within speed limit, but we can't be sure.) Our first step was to contact the MIDO (FAA) in Atlanta requesting an emergency Airworthiness Directive. If we had a failure, we wanted to protect all of our customers. The FAA answered with "The body count is not high enough." We heard arguments from the FAA that perhaps body position on deployment, packing technique or many other causes could be the reason for the failure. We responded by immediately issueing SB1221. Implementing a service bulletin of this magnatude would be difficult. This covered many thousands of reserves, virtually all in service, as they were (are) a current design. To ensure that all jumpers would be able to get their canopies in compliance quickly, we needed the riggers in the field with appropriate equipment. To set an acceptable payment to these riggers, we (at Precision) established a charge of $50. With Precision charging this amount, the riggers in the field could charge the same amount and not be accused of "gouging" customers. The riggers would be paid by the customers directly and with registration of the completed repair, a merchandise credit of $100 was issued to the customer to offset his expense. In many cases, dealers (riggers) would perform this update for no charge to the customer and accept the customers merchandise credit certificate in exchange. ...a little description of the SB... The Dash-M canopies affected by the Service Bulletin use Type III tape for the line attachment loops, attached to the lower surface load bearing rib by a single 42 stitch bartack. These canopies were manufactured from initial release, 03 October 1996, thru 12 April 1999. All canopies continue to evolve. In 1999, we found that we could build a stronger canopy by using 2 bartacks in place of the single bartack. The (actual) failure was seen many years after the change, and involved the original construction. The update mandated by the service bulletin, simply turned these older canopies into newer version construction, one that we have witnessed (through continued testing) to be tougher. (sidebar... the Smart Reserve (by Aerodyne) shown at the 2003 PIA Symposium in Jacksonville utilizes the exact line attachment construction as the original Precision Dash-M reserves, their drop testing also validates the construction method... Type III tape with single 42 stitch bartack.) Everyone must understand the size, the magnitude of this in our microscopic industry. At Precision, we have a limited production capability. (No Ford or GM here...) Our concern was primarily ensuring the safety of our customers (our friends...). With the release of this SB, we pointed the loaded gun at ourselves. Understanding the repercusions of our action (mandatory service bulletin), we knew full well that we would bear the total fury of the customers. Our concern was your safety, even at the expense of our name. We have taken a substantial hit in terms of customer confidence because we "charged" for this update. Yet, we saw nearly complete compliance in about one repack cycle. An improvement to more reserves, quicker than anyone has ever attempted before. These canopies are better than the original, at a minimal cost and completed quickly. With the assistance of the entire rigging force available, we improved more reserve canopies than ever tried before this SB. Yes we will always hear someone "nay" saying, but our concern is you the jumper. (We are jumpers also and jump the very same canopies.) Our testing program never stops. Our output is over 90% TSO'ed canopies. During our testing, we initially test to success (the design receives approval through the TSO process..) and continue beyond the required limits. Every one of our TSO'ed designs have been tested to failure. We use to think we knew where, why and when a design will fail. While we see failures in our testing, real life applications continue show us things that are unexpected. This sport has inherent risks. The skydiving methods are changing. (And we use to think the Style guys had a high speed freefall!) As the sport changes, we will too. We will always try to offer the highest quality canopies available. But we will always do what is most important, do our best to protect our friends in this sport. There are enough risks in this sport. I want to minimize those risks. I want to give you a bullet-proof reserve... and currently I think I have that answer. Sincerely, Chris Martin Precision Aerodynamics chris@NOSPAMprecision.net 423-949-4688
  19. The Vectran line is extremely abrasive and will wear thru the lighter brass grommets. HMA line is not abrasive... we've seen brass grommet sliders on HMA lines go over 2000 jumps. (and ya just can't beat the lighter brass for nice openings, whether ya agree with "slider-rebound" or not.) Chris
  20. You might remember a guy named Galloway, used to sew 'em together for Mike. you can pm him on this forum, he goes by "Precision"
  21. Actually became GlidePath... then more legal and financial... became Flight concepts... other principals thru transition were Chris Gay, then later (and still curently) Red Payne. I still have my Pegasus... less than 300 jumps on it, still looks like new. Loaned it to a friend one weekend and he returned it with a mesh slider and big ass pilot chute... wonder why? Great old canopy... I never had endcell problems til one day, shooting accuracy on a very windy/bumpy day, that 7 cell became a one cell at about 60-80'. I pumped hard once and impacted. Thank God, the corn field had just been plowed. I stuck in it to my thighs. The hardest part was retrieving my tennis shoe after I got plucked from the earth. Wow, what memories. Chris
  22. Hi Conway, Those new steering lines are not spectra. Spectra shrinks from friction and the steering lines experience quite a bit of friction during both the deployment (slider descent) and steering (friction from the guide ring). The new lower control lines (white) are actually 400 lb. Darcon. Nothing lasts longer than dacron. Perfect line for that application. Chris
  23. Skymama: 26th (late) -3rd Freeflying, hybrids, tracking (in my Pantz that love my ass!), jumps with Newbies who don't know who to ask to jump with them. TB99: 24th (late) - 1st (midday) Mostly wingsuit, but will do freeflying here and there and tracking. Gawain: 29th (early I hope!) - 2nd (through afternoon) RW (mmm 4-way), hybrids. I don't know how to freefly. But I like watching while being a base in a hybrid. WrongWay: 26th thru the 1st FREEFLY, Hybrids, Tracking dives. Gonna take my AD, wish me luck guys!! SEE YA THERE! Groundzero: 26th thru 4th... Bird-man only... when I received my suit there were no instructions on "removing from rig", so sorry that's all I can do.
