This is the preliminary event schedule for SDD, as reported by our manager. I do not know for sure what is planned on Safety Day except the usual free jump ticket if you are within the weight limits of your gear. Last year there were seminars out the yin-yang, hosted by such experts as Mike Ortiz...also you got a $10 jump ticket if you hung in the training harness and did safety procedures and attended at least three seminars (all of which were held after dark, I THINK) - anyway, we do a lot of great stuff on Safety Day. Here is thing on rental gear. Student gear and rental gear are one and the same. And all of our student gear is NEW, most of them have Sabre2s in them and the container/harnesses are new as well. I am not sure where the original policy came from, I know it sucks for people but that's the dz's policy so you just have to deal with it. At least they don't require all jumpers to have an AAD (unless you don't have an A license). Rental gear there is expensive, I am still training in the gear/ticket sales but I think its like $25 a jump or $75 a day. So if you make more than 3 jumps on it, you're doing well. Something like that. I would borrow gear if I were you unless you just won the lottery. Safety Day is March 16, which is a Saturday. Blue Skies! Sis Dying a natural death is for pussies!
