  1. WOW....in 1910 I imigrated from Russia to Canada, then in 1997 I passed the New York Bar exam. And somewhere along the line I ran several marathons. LOL Oz
  2. I got a question just a little of the thread topic, but y'all are just the people who might be able to help me. I'm stationed in England at RAF Lakenheath (about 30 min from Cambridge). I'm in the US right now on temprary duty, right after I got here I started skydiving. Next week I'm heading back to England and want to know if any of you know of a good DZ close to Cambridge, or where I might be able to find out this info. Thanks much. Oz
  3. Boobies are damn near the best things in the world! Oz
  4. Because of skydiving I have been able to put everything in to perspective (of course this may change if I ever have kids). 1. Skydiver---it has changed my life forever! 2. Climber--(mostly a boulderer, if you happen to know what that is) 3. Friend--I seem to make a great friend, just ask all the great women I've dated. 4. Traveler--There is no place I won't go for a new experance. 5. Adventurer--If life isn't an adventure, I don't know what is! Oz "Fly like an Eagle...to be free." SMB
  5. I haven't jumped with any of y'all yet, but I'm really looking forward to it! If anyone here jumps at Z-hills, I'm gonna be there for mamorial day weekend and I hope to see ya. Is anyone else gonna be there? Look forward to meeting y'all some day. Blue Skies, Oz
  6. All this car talk is making me drool, I drive a 1989 Mini.....when "she" wants to work. I've even given her a name (Britney), because she's a pain in the ass and has made me spend more money on her than any chick I've ever dated. Oz
  7. I'm currently jumping right outside of Tampa Florida at SkyDive City in Z-hills. It's a blast, but it's the only DZ I've ever been to (I'm just barely getting rid of my Whuffo status). But the Florida weather is great. I've heard so much about Deland that I can't wait to check it out...again it's (almost) always sunny in Florida. Also, I grew up in California, the weather in the winter can be kinda cold depending where you go, but all around Ca is a great place to check out. Oz
  8. For now I'm an intelligence bubba in the US Air Force. It's not as cool as all the James Bond shit I pictured I'd be doing when I joined up. I'm the guy who helps pick what kinda bomb goes on what kinda target and I help aircrew plan their missions. Unfortunatly I've had nothing to do with killing the poor dumb bastards that attacked us. Soon I'm gonna try out for Pararescue which is a hard core EMT. The best part about the job, if I make it, is they will pay me to jump outta planes! Oz
  9. Got a newbie question for y'all....next weekend I'm making my AFF 7 jump and hopefully, after that, my first solo. Is that gonna be a case? Don't get me wrong, if it is tradition and it involves beer, I'm all for it. But if I'm not supposed to buy, I'd rather spend that money on another jump. Thanks for the help. Blue Skies, Oz
  10. 0:2:0 What a great Saturday here. Today was pretty cloudy all day. Only got two jumps cause I'm broke (anyone want to donate to a needy student?), but they were great! Did my AFF level 5 and 6...I love this sport! Oz
  11. My new name is also Shaft
  12. I'd love to get a license...anything besides student status. And a 3 way that has nothing to do with skydiving would be pretty great too. Oz
  13. 1:0:0 No jumps because I'm broke as a joke. Did anyone else go broke when they started jumping? Oz

    it opened!

I'm REALLY new to the world of skydiving. After listening to y'all talk about your first pack jobs I'm getting kinda nervous. I just have a general packing question....is it cool to ask the riggers if I watch over/learn from them while they are packing chutes? Or is that something I shouldn't do? I know it probably varies from DZ to DZ, but I don't want to go up to them and ask a really stupid question. Thanks for all the help. Oz Blue Skies!
  15. >Though I'd really appreciate it if the individual in question bought 2 cases of beer - one for them and one for me...cause after >something like that - we'd both should get drunk. I'm REALLY new at jumping, but I'd have to go with this myself. If I'm alive after this, I really should have at least a dozen beers. Oz "no clever quote yet"
  16. would that make it ironic? Oz
