  1. i dont know, i revived it and changed the direction of the conversation because i didnt want to start a new thread. thanks for the heads up everyone, im gonna invest in an HMA lineset in the near future............. gravity brings me down.........
  2. im gonna revive this old thread....... being that im loading my pilot 132 at a decent wingloading, i was looking into getting rid of the spectre line so that things dont get out of trim and weird, and replace with either HMA or vectran has anyone ever had any experience relining a pilot with either vectran or HMA? im particulary interested in HMA cause its smaller and stronger. i dont know if HMA would have a super big impact on opening, since the pilot is already docile and slow........ will it affect flight characteristics drastically? any thoughts, ideas, forseen problems, etc? thanks gravity brings me down.........
  3. RIP walden grindle i did not know him, as i am still yet to jump at davis, but i heard this a few days ago. all i have read on alot of friends FB pages is that norcal lost a good one....... BSBD bro http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2430290/Walden-Grindle-BASE-jumper-dies-crashing-Mount-St-Helena.html gravity brings me down.........
  4. crack cocaine, high powered (for the early 80s that is) skunk bud, rotten pu$$y, and dried catshit gravity brings me down.........
  5. does anyone else call complete and utter BULLSHIT on this? http://www.dropzone.com/classifieds/Detailed/151299.html if im wrong, then shoot me down. but a container with a height range of 7", and a weight range of 45 lbs???? if this was the case wouldnt the manufacturers just make xs-xxl containers? i call bullshit gravity brings me down.........
  6. are you referring to a BASE progression or are you just referring to WS skydive? gravity brings me down.........
  7. get yourself a swing mirage (subjective statement obviously). with all the advances in wings why use a skycanopy? if youre totally broke i feel ya though. ive flown a few times in idaho with a buddy who routinely launched a stilletto 190. even that thing was a fuckin beast to get launched, i remember him having to run it out for a WHILE every time, and that was on a much bigger canopy than a 135 gravity brings me down.........
  8. i think you missed the original conversation by about 6 years bro! gravity brings me down.........
  9. yep, its a crane. hopefully they leave it unlocked, and if you have a laser range finder you can check alti. if its at LEAST static-lineable, i say go for it!!!!!! gravity brings me down.........
  10. no, but i play a mean skin flute gravity brings me down.........
  11. spot you dont have a link to any online training videos by chance do you? it would be good to see different body positions from a 3rd person perspective. gravity brings me down.........
  12. dude, dont ask these people. talk to the competent canopy pilots at your dropzone who know you, and they will set you straight. if youre good to go, they will let you know to be careful and dont fuck up. if youre not good to go, they will give you an earful and make sure that you dont jump it. gravity brings me down.........

    omni

I have ~2500 jumps on my Icarus Omni 183.5. I just ordered a new one from NZ Aerosports. They still make them, however they don't market them because "The Omni is not really a current design." that kind of worries me that they may not have an omni 139 for me to demo...........it would be nice to fly one for a weekend or two just to compare it to the spectre that i used to fly. gravity brings me down.........

    omni

so whats up? why do i never see omnis or omegas by icarus for sale anywhere? are they great canopies? does anyone fly them? everything ive read about them on this website using search dates back to like 2003-2005 i love icarus, and im going to send an email to them tomorrow to see about demoing an omni 139 as my wingsuit canopy. thoughts, opinions, etc. on the omni are welcome and highly encouraged... gravity brings me down.........
  15. i just had my first cutaway a few weekends ago, the problem with me was that i was twisted all the way up my risers into my lines, i was violently spinning left, and what made me say FUCK fighting this is the fact that my head was pinned down to the right, i have a fullface, and i could NOT see my altimiter. i did not have altitude awareness. however, because i am a new wingsuiter i pull at 4500, so i knew that i had some altitude but i wasnt willing to fight without knowing exactly how much. luckily everything went quite well, i got all my components back, and had a good stand up landing on my reserve. gravity brings me down.........
  16. ive dumped myself out of the front of a tandem paraglider from about 1000 feet. its fun as hell, and from altitude it would be an absolute blast. gravity brings me down.........
  17. god you need to get a life. you should learn to skydive one day...... gravity brings me down.........
  18. this isnt the first time recently that a dipshit reporter has made a mistake like this....... asiana airline pilot names more specifically gravity brings me down.........
  19. hahaha holy shit. that didnt look comfortable. ive never done a naked jump, but once i had a pair of shorts with a zipper that never held up, and mid freefly my junk popped out for the entire dive. it felt liberating. gravity brings me down.........
  20. well it finally happened. unstable wingsuit deployment, and because i am at a 1.65 WL, i finally opened into the worst linetwists ever. my risers were completely twisted and so were my lines. started spiraling down extremely quickly, my head was pinned down and i could NOT see my altimiter for altitude awareness, so i decided to chop. luckily i deploy high because im new to wingsuiting, so i was in the reserve saddle just below 2k. lesson learned: my canopy is too small for wingsuiting. im going to be selling my rig and upsizing to a more docile 7 cell like a storm. this was the 4th time ive opened into linetwists, and i just had a feeling that flying a safire2 129 isnt going to work with wingsuiting for me. this just proved it. luckily i was able to retrieve all gear, and kept both my handles. also, i stood my reserve landing up like a boss. of course it helps that my BASE canopy is a 7 cell f-111 canopy which flares similar to my pr126....... is something wrong with me to where this was one of the funnest jumps ive had in a long time? i loved the extra freefall!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gravity brings me down.........
  21. Do you have any idea how idiotic that statement is?? How can he spend all his time jumping, when he just spent all his money on a brand new rig, that he can't even jump yet?? hey, pipe down i just bought a 1200 cc ducati, and though i just passed my MSF course and have been dirt biking a few times, i have it, and thats all that matters. take a fuckin quaalude and relax guy gravity brings me down.........
  22. You should have spent the last 5 months of your milk money getting coached jumps, paying for a canopy course, renting and trying out different rigs. Instead, you got uber excited, begged grandma to foot the bill for a rig (that you don't even know you'll want when the time comes). Perhaps Brian Germain's canopy progression might help you: http://www.bigairsportz.com/pdf/bas-sizingchart.pdf You're not jumping your said rig until you are 90% confident? Why don't you jump that rig when you are 100% confident? And now you want to cross your fingers, pray to the gods, etc and just rely on luck instead of skill to get through this sport. Can you please tell us which DZ you jump so I can avoid it? You're obviously a hazard to yourself AND OTHERS if you go down this path. You opened this can of worms on yourself bro..not me SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just be quiet. less typing, more jumping. thats assuming you even jump what is everyones problem with someone going out and spending all their money on a new rig. now he has it, and can go spend all his time jumping if he wants to. i quit jumping for about 5 months just so i could finally get the rig thats gonna be my entire career rig............... you "should" spend your money on jumps and coaching and BLAH BLAH BLAH. quit telling people how to spend their money. and to the OP, quit asking these questions on a stupid internet forum. talk to those at your dropzone, they know you, you know them, and theyll set you straight. and for the record, ive never flown an optimum, but everyone i jump with thats jumped one speaks highly of the flare, and all the flight characteristics. plus youll have more fabric over your head and thats never a bad thing. have fun out there on your new pulse, DONT tell your canopy to kill you close to the ground, and drive fast/take chances!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers gravity brings me down.........
  23. On a different helmet. The big problem with fullface helmets like that is that you cannot install a cutaway system. Something that should be mandatory on any camera helmet IMO. So especially for a beginner, a freefly-style open helmet with chincup + cutaway for a camerahelmet, especially with the big-ass hook a go-pro is, is the only way to go IMO. i installed an aftermarket cutaway system for my bonehead revolve. i have tested it on the ground and it works fine. gravity brings me down.........
