Great seein ya. You should convince the girly to move down here. Raleigh is a lot of fun. Hope you make it up here.

I haven't seen Joe in like two months. Are you sure he works in Raeford tunnel?!
-
Where's the video of our three way with Louis!!!

Ignoring gear issues. I think having enough awareness to recognize jump run and make sure they are facing perpendicular to it is the first place to start. After that basic stability, which I don't think can really be coached other than saying to relax and fight with your legs. Back flying helps for sit flying because the muscle memory of turning is the same for sit flying and back flying. Maybe we can start with a back flying skills camp :)

No, I was at work ALL DAY yesterday
-
I'll be there Friday afternoon/night

I think this is the most important regarding not hurting yourself because you turned too low and didn't abort. The others apply when you get into collision avoidance and accuracy. All those equal I think this is the most important rule. I never hear anyone recommending it though.

I believe there is a cardinal rule in terms of hitting the ground while in an intentional turn because you are two low. I think this cardinal rule has always kept me alive. It's always start your turns over when you down size. I was doing 270s on a Stiletto and when I transitioned to a Velocity I went back to doing a left hand pattern straight in. Over the course of 150 jumps I built back up to a 270. I think that helps to develop your sight picture and recognize when you are in the corner so you can abort. Everyone I know personally that has been hurt or killed violated that rule and was hurt within 50 jumps of down sizing or trying the bigger turns. My not so humble 2 cents.

I got a chance to fly in the new super large and fast tunnel in Raeford. I have flown in Flyaway, L1, Skyventure Perris and Orlando. I'm a bit bigger (ie not built like a Chinese gymnast) so sitflying in other tunnels was always very difficult even with tunnel suits. Doing transitions required me to be in very floaty positions. In Paraclete however I could fly up in a normal freefly suit (no need for a $400 zp tunnel suit) and transition without losing any altitude. I imagine head down will be very fast to learn. I did about 10 minutes spotted on my head. Not to mention they have Joe who is incredibly insightful about giving you pointers and advice on how to improve. I imagine freeflying in NC is going to be pretty awesome next summer

Joe, I'm not sure you met Evgeni, you would not be hoping to see him next week if you had
-
I think he means he likes um big.
-
I just realized our D-license numbers are highly close together. When you come visit the tunnel we've got a lot of fun jumps you can do
-
Is it open?
-
Did I hear right that Joe Winters was going to be at this tunnel?

Doing 10 to 15 minutes in 2.5 minute rotations is reasonable if it's spread out in 30 minutes to an hour. Doing more than that and you'll get little out of it. After a break you can do 10 more if it's spread out. We should get six of us to do that. I'll probably buy two hours here shortly.

JP, You always rubbed me just the right way. :)

Oh it's ok. I didn't realize there is a Team Room with free drinks and hookers. That's where the $1100 comes from. I guess they must have taken out a loan for $6 million and decided to pay it in a year. My bet is the owner has God like negotiating skills and that is what the military is paying. If so I'm IMPRESSED. Maybe that's what it is.
-
How could that price ever be justified? What are you paying instructors, $200/hr? Power couldn't be much more than $100 an hour.
-
Your freefall speed without a canopy is less than 86 mph. You expect us to believe that!
-
I haven't flown in two years, so I imagine not. I at least was on the net then. How hard could it be How many hours do you have now?
-
Are there going to be head down certified instructors when it opens?
-
I quit BASE jumping because you kept trying to make out with me when we'd drive up to sites in the middle of the night. I was cool with BASE, but not THAT cool with it. I know your married now, so maybe you won't keep trying to get me to do two-ways with you! Besides I was just giving Keith shit for giving someone else shit unnecessarily

Who wants to open a pool on the Justin vs Eugene track off?
-
I can't believe you assholes ate at Mill Town without me. That's one of my new favorite Carrboro places.
-
Yes. No, but seriously doing 4 points on a 4-way belly at 290 jumps is possible. Doing that freeflying in twice the jumps is nearly impossible.
