Yes, I'm already going into withdrawals; I'm stuck in the library already! I am organizing a first annual bank robbery we can use to fund freeflying. Anyone game?
-
Yes I heard Dawn did her first jump :) It was fun today guys, I had a total blast. I needed it before class starts tomorrow. I'll see you guys this weekend.

I know, but I was just curious, because the L1 is quite different then both Skyventure and Flyaway. It has its own unique set of risk. Its will be exciting to see how all the instruction and policies develop there.
-
I'm not talking about skyventure. I'm talking about the L1. Two different animals.

I had an awesome time. I'll definitly be back as soon as I get back in town. I wish I could have stayed tonight

Flyaway Pigeon and Las Vegas Skyventure Perris and Orlando L1 Tunnel Here in NC

That is actually my concern due to the way the air is controlled at the tunnel. If it was a small girl that was way arched then suddenly popped up a problem could arise. I could see someone breaking their neck if they fall out of the column head first. In skyventure i've seen small girls suddenly dearch, pop up 10 ft, and then slam into the wall.

When hell freezes over :) I'm just starting in Chemical Engineering for grad school, I have to do well in the core classes first. I haven't jumped in over two months. I have put everything into real world stuff as of late. When I'm making bling bling in about 4 years I'll consider it :)
-
Yeah, when Joe walked by there was a table of like 10 girls all over him. I was like dude, go with that :)

Don't worry, I won't be doing any BASE, but I've emailed the Parkton crew my entire catalog of all your favorite shit.
-
Thanks man. Glad you are there for me!

Last time I tried to do a 450 degree turn I was 360 degrees around and realized i would die if I completed the turn, so I stopped and flat turned into landing. Big turns are scary!
-
Sweet, I probably need to be on radio so I don't do my 270 too low. Any volunteers?
-
Ok... It has been decreed. I am going to try and make it up there on Friday. I have to work Friday night so I'll have to get there early, but I can't take this not jumping with this weather stuff. See you guys soon. Anyone else going to be there? PS I may need someone to do an AFF recurrancy with me. I haven't jumped in over a month. I've NEVER gone that long without jumping.
-
I'd say 2 months max. It just goes back to the login page after i've entered my username/password.

DZ.com worked on my PDA for about 6 months complete with logging in and everything. Recently it hasn't allowed me to login. What changed?

Some of the forcasts are 10 to 15 mph from the west. Chance of rain is only 30%, cross your fingers.

You also have to realize you are there and face legal rammifications. You also need to handle shit if things hit the fan. Learning some first aid would be very beneficial.

I spent a good bit of time playing with my Troll in various rear riser configurations a weekend ago. I noticed that if you do the stall method then turn you get a really, really slow turn. The just grab and turn method turned lightning fast with and without brakes stowed. I was just wondering what method you guys were using on the Troll for object avoidance.

In a nut shell, he opened lower than the wire he hit. Had he opened below the 1st he'd have still hit it. The glide ratio of the canopy exceeded the descent rate of the wire.
-
Bryan was open below the 2nd wire, and with the wind later reencountered it (the glide ratio was greater than the descent of the wire). Though the safest method of putting a first timer off an A it's certainly not a good idea.
-
I'm mainly referring to lack of winds.
-
I disagree due to possibility of overload and too low or no deployment. I think if it's an antenna there should be no guide wires and static line or pca setup. Tall ones also run the risk of pulling @ 2 seconds and resulting in object strike.

I was unclear that bridges where the best objects to do a first jump. I was also unaware that people never make mistakes or errors in judgement that cost them lives, or lots of other grief. This is a revelation in BASE jumping. The jumper in the CNN thread has been around BASE and ground crewed off and on for over 2 years. He knew the only way to get into BASE safely was to go to a bridge. He also realized in that time that he didn't actually want to get into BASE. He was looking for an amusement park ride and unfortunatly the situation arose at the wrong time for him.
