  1. yup.. Mike bowen is a good person to talk to.
  2. you might want to think about recording on the internal memory and having the stick as backup. That way if you need to give the video to someone, you can dub it to a memory stick. you cant dub from memory stick to internal.
  3. Since bones is too down to earth and nice to say what should be said, Ill say it too. P.S. I am from Spaceland, not SDH. Really good statistical fact that shows whats going on there. Thats not what he said. he probably should have said high quality FF. Also, bones is probably one of the most down to earth guys on and off the DZ. He has no problem bringing a begging freeflyer on a fun jump and he might even bring his spaceball too. He will probably give a lot of coaching too. I know I was one of them. I was born and raised in texas. haha... who gives a fuck? you dont have to be from here to see what is currently going on is. I would have to say that I like the otter better, but only when I am in the door. I would have to say that this is simply a terrible point to take a stand on. Pacs are great planes. A good team should sell themselves to bring business to that DZ. Its effective and smart. If it was not raining outside, i would be at SDH right now ONLY because i would have the opportunity to learn from Bones and Brad's videos and debriefs. O, yea.... They were going to do some FF fun jump organizing after their team jumps instead of packing up and leaving. I have another FF friend that was going to go because Ver-tex was training there. Maybe some people do not understand that. While i dont like legend... Ill say that he is in fact very well known. Yes.... If all the teams that were jumping at SDH currently got up and moved to another DZ, it would be the place to be for FF. You sir are correct. tunnel coaches are know to be damn good flyers. In this specific case, that is defiantly true. last and certainly the best quote. haha... defiantly not true. To back up bones' statement, I would have to say that the people who are good enough to be on the 100 way HD record and who had the means to go in fact did. I love spaceland and it is my home dz by far. It truly has world class facilities. However, i can say that it is not much of a freefly DZ. I would have to say that I am one of the few regular freeflyers there and I only jump during summer and holidays. We do not have a FF team competing (unless you count Collegiates). thats all
  4. Like I said, just saying When people work for PF, they typically know what they are saying. But i have seen some bad profiles from people who know what they are talking about..
  5. If your going of profiles... you should not be giving advice. Not personal. Just saying.
  6. Can someone explain how this is possible?
  7. Sabre: Driving a 18wheeler... Sabre2: Driving a BMW.
  8. Ortega Hwy is the most fun I have had in a car in a long time. If you have a good car, Ortega can be just as fun as the day at the DZ. Just try not to kill the crotch rockets flying by you at 80mph on a steep curve next to a cliff face. I would highly recommend the drive.
  9. One of the male prostitutes that hang out with the guy in Beerfest.
  10. I truly know what you mean. I am from Texas and was forced to experience my first winter last year in NH. I was a very depressed kid to say the least. I did the same exact thing that you did and posted this thread. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3467066;search_string=winter;#3467066. I highly suggest that you read it. The best advice that I liked was laying in the sun in your living room. Try to find your own way to deal with it; last year, I didnt. May you have the best of luck and remember that spring is actually not too far away.
  11. davelepka, the man your talking about who packed the mal on purpose is hooknswoop (Derek V). I remember reading the post and was very interested. He also has a couple of different posts that are worth looking into. I have had a similar experience to the OP and i can insure you that you do not have time for a hook knife, and if you think about getting it out, its probably to late.
  12. Deploy: Pull silver. After Opening: Use left arm to use breaks and put both toggles in one hand to flare. Yes, its happened before.

    24

The Season Primer of 24 is going to be on in less than ten minuets. I hope they can make this seasons last couple episodes better than last years. I wonder what the issue is going to be this year.
  14. I am looking for a ride to Skydive Chicago tomorrow. I live at 56th and Lake Shore Drive, however I could meet you almost anywhere in chicago if needed. I could leave my place at 10:00am saturday morning. I would be more than happy to chip in for gas and beer. Thanks, Cody
  15. Brad Cole. Derek V. Matt B. And Chad would be very good people to start out with.
  16. I wondered why there could be so many fatalities back in the day when they were not doing even close to the number of jumps we currently do.
  17. I apologize for my complete brain fart. I do know you optical imagine stabilization is horrible for skydiving. I mixed them up while multitasking.
  18. Dont waste your time looking at the rest of the thread. Complete mistake.
  19. The America Stay hotel is about a three minuet walk to the tunnel. Three weeks ago my partner and I stayed there for three nights for a total of $190 (95 each) Might want to look into it. Tell them you are flying the tunnel.
  20. Skydive Spaceland has a very successful program that will let you get your A Licence in a week. It is a very cheap rate and unlike most other dropzones, you will have all levels with a AFF Instructor. It is in texas so your odds of having good weather in February is relatively high. The US nationals were just there and they have some of the best facilities in the world. http://www.skydivespaceland.com/license-in-a-week.php
  21. In electronics, you get what you pay for. In this case its two lens for 15 bucks. Simple answer: not HD

  23. My flight from chicago to Denver for my little tunnel trip was delayed in the first place, but after a hour on the tarmat, we are going back to the gate and unloading the plane!!! So much for a fifteen minuet block tonight. I don't like planes that don't require a parachute.
