  1. Yes, it sure looked cold up there, but your jumping is for sure hot enough to make up for it. I would tell you to keep on keeping on, but it looks like you don't need anyone to tell you what to do. When you get to the US of A, let me know so we can make a few jumps together.

  4. Carlee, You are very lucky for having Gary as an Uncle. As I attended the services this last Saturday I talked with many friends from over the last 45 years. Everyone of them had nothing but great things to say about Gary, even those he grounded. Gary grounded me back in the 60's for trying to make a shortcut to China through the Elsinore DZ. I would say I am alive and jumping today because of that grounding. So, to Gary I say," Thanks Red". I heard about your jump this weekend. Good on ya Carlee. That sure put a smile in the sky and on the ground this weekend. Regards, Dennis Henley SCR-216
  5. Sherry Cleary told me about Chuck passing during the services for Gary Douris last Saturday. It took me a time before I had any words. As I traveled back home on Monday I passed Taft. All I could do was smile and think of the times we had at Taft in the 60's and 70's. Chuck, I will miss your bright eyes and your way of making those around you smile. I'll be driving down Friday morning to see you off bud.. Dennis Henley SCR-216
  6. Over the last year I was able to visit the southland several times and go out to dinner with Gary, Kevin Donnely and several other old friends I have known over the past 44 years. Last month was my last visit and it was clear that Gary was in a lot discomfort. When I reminded Gary of the day he grounded my brother and I along with the entire load for low-pulling during a jump-in from Taft, Gary got a great big smile and laughed. He had a sparkle in his eyes, and I saw again that red-headed kid I knew back in the 60’s. He was full of fire and ready to get into jumping / rigging / flying discussions again. I’m going to miss that kid with the red hair and fire in his eyes. My thanks to Vladislav Zhukov for posting pictures of Gary. They bring back great memories. Regards, Dennis Henley SCR-216
  7. I was a kid in High School the first time I jumed with Tall Paul and the Good Guys at Taft. I will always remember Tall Paul and those days.
