  1. Well, let's do it! who can support this? I may be spending a lot of time around DaKine Rags' Tent helping out, etc...Just ask for A.T.!
  2. different set of skills...i never understood the 500 jump minimum. I would think that a D-licensed jumper could learn the same as a 500 jump D-licensed jumper....just my $.02
  3. ...stupid, ignorant question, but how many jumps do you need to jump a wingsuit???
  4. If you want a mini city, let's set it up! Near the couch freaks, for example? just a thought.
  5. No, this is Mike McKinlay at Lake Wales that i'm talking about. He's usually a videographer, but he took the time to teach me to pack properly. It made a huge difference in my cutaway rate! I even went on to teach others (that are willing to listen to me after my bad record) some of his tricks and tips *before anyone jumps on me, the riggers were watching!*
  6. Actually, i was just looking through May's Parachutist looking for a picture of a cypres to put in my rig when i came across the pic of the canopy...oops! did i say that out loud??
  7. Incident Report: Age: 22 Sex: Male Number of Jumps: 1 Time in sport: 20 minutes, 75 1/2 seconds Cause of death: Hard landing from non-deployment/stupidity Description: After an uneventful gear theft, and initial freefall, this whuffo failed to realize that they should at a minimum recieve training before jumping stolen gear. The jumper failed to deploy the main canopy and didn't realize that the cypres existed, much less that they should turn it on. He created a large crater on impact that is reportedly being used now for a swoop pond. Conclusions: The manufacturers suggest that individuals purchase their gear as opposed to stealing it from others. The other jumpers on the load swore up and down that they had no clue that the jumper was not trained in sport parachuting, and assumed that because of the jumper's cool gear, they must have been a professional. The USPA recommends that jumpers undergo training prior to making their first skydive.
  8. Congratulations on doing what you were trained to do! Glad everything went smoothly. Did you hear the "ChaChink" noise?? It seemed to me after my first that was the most memorable part of it. After 3 cutaways in my first 6 months, I believe i am current. Now a year into it and i have been cutaway free [knock on wood *here*] My hat's off to the patient packers at Skydive Lake Wales who taught me how to avoid my fuckups. Mike X, Whenever i get the chance, there's a case of cold ones from A.T. for the lessons!
  9. one of their canopies is pictured on page 30 of May's Parachutist magazine. I think it is Heath Richardson doing a blade running competition. If you see a whuffo with one of these canopies, do not attempt to apprehend them. Instead, invite them to your dropzone and 1.) make them buy beer for the new gear. 2.) Make them jump it. 3.) IF (and i repeat IF)they land safely, have the entire dropzone pummel them about the head and chest until unconsious, then call the cops. When the police question the condition of said S.O.B., explain that they had a hard landing under stolen gear.
  10. when you guys are ready to sell them, let us know ..i'd be interested in cost, etc..
  11. can i ummm.... borrow your livestock?? ha ha ha
  12. thanks for the good vibes. Keep em' coming! I love you guys!
  13. With all of the bad shit going on (fatalities, rig thefts, injuries, relational problems, etc, etc, etc) Is there something more fun to focus on?? I doubt i am the only one who is feeling bad vibes the past couple of days... Let's focus on Clay's sheep, fun jumps, cool photos, free t-shirts, or Boobies...anything!! Here's one... This coming weekend I'll be doing my 200th. And it'll be a night jump!! Anyone else have GOOD news?? Help me out here
  14. I'm not a big fan of flying up to altitude... Buy me Mike Mullins' Super King Air, and pay for him to fly it! Oh, yeah, throw in some new gear and a year's supply if Guiness
  15. This guy should be considered a national hero!! Do they give out nobel prizes for this sort of thing?? Now, if he could just get something built to make beer out of water...or wine out of water for that matter...
  16. done deal! :) open source rocks
  17. Are there plans in the works for a place for all of us to meet up in Rantoul? It'd be cool if there was some sort of tent, or banner hanging up there... If all of this is in the works already, forgive my ignorance. A.T.
  18. well, at least i'm not "ganking" someone else's shit...just making a simpler, cheaper version that'll work for the little dropzones out there. I think this is an apples and oranges issue, since the small dropzones don't need all of the "bells and whistles" for their manifests that the bigger ones do.
  19. ...I think i may have finally gotten a point across with someone!!! That is EXACTLY what i am working on. The choices i found out there were way too expensive. I called one drop zone i visited and all i got was "some guy in atlanta made ours". Hence, the program i am working on. It should be ready for marketing in another month or so. Maybe by Rantoul...we'll see. A.T.
  20. you think you could do that with a para-sail rig?? hmm....i can almost taste the jet exhaust now....
  21. PLEASE....someone post their boobies before i go blind!
  22. fake or not...that's funny!! "Climb faster jimmy!!! He's right behind you!!!!"
  23. damn dude....damn. Warn us before you do that!
  24. what about reaching the simple dz operators that want all of the manifest stuff, but aren't willing to pay as much due to being smaller businesses? I'm sure if my dropzone wanted it, a lot of others might as well. Now, i understand that i am never going to get rich off of this thing, but it might pay for some jumps and some beer, right?? Besides, this is already being worked up. The Name is DZ Manifest Manager 2.0. It'll be easy enough for the people that use paper and have enough features to attract people that want to manage fuel, maintenance, expenditures, etc... So far, the preliminary version was good, and the 2.0 version will be even better. ok, so it's a cheap plug!!
